-
i had two copies at one point but now i have neither. sucks
-
The first Breakfast album? I most definitely do, any album w/ Fishbowl, ATSD, and Puppetry is a ok in my books.
-
doesnt anyone still like the first one?? even just for novelty sake?
awhile ago someone offered me a copy of the first album and then they stopped responding to my email, sooo can anyone hook me up with a copy. i know the only chance for an original is 39.99 on amazon, and im pretty sure its used.
-
My favorites: Junta, LawnBoy, Nectar, Rift. All downhill after that....
-
I think Junta is my favorite.... Billy Breathes is the most cohesive & well produced, but the songs on Junta are all classics.

I hope some day we will be arguing with kids who are, 7 years old now, that Real Radio was the Breakfasts best album*, and that the band was so much better back in 05, before Tim got all fat and greasy and hooked on eating sticks of butter 2 at a time....
*although I feel that their best album will consist of songs that aren\'t even ideas yet.
-
Rift was far and away their best album.
-
haa, i meant SUMMER \'00 was my first show, whoops.
-
no marcial, my first show was summer 02.. i was only 16 so i definitely missed the boat on the really good years, its a shame. but yeah i wasnt necessarily saying that Ghost IS the best Phish, freddie said that. my favorite will always be Rift, i was just saying that Ghost being their funkiest album was a great one. i dont think they were all that sloppy in 98, when i listen to \'97 i think they were in a transitional period getting a little bit tired of the old stuff and Billy just had more of a soft flow to it all. Once they started working all the Ghost material into their sets I think they got excited and it showed in their playing. Let\'s also not forget that Big Cypress was NYE \'99, far from laziness. In the IT special they were all saying how the decline really hit after that \'the Pinnacle\' moment of their life as a band-- Big Cypress. I dont know, it\'s all a roundabout, I\'m still just bitter that I wasn\'t able to see them in \'94. I\'ll shut my mouth now.
-
who says that "funky phish" is the best phish? i hate funky phish... story of the ghost, farmhouse, weak ass shows, sloppiness, lack of fire, farmhouse encores, etc all go hand in hand as part of what I like to call "the beginning of the end". you said yourself that \'91-\'94 are the tightest.... that\'s when they were at their peak.... and practicing heavily... then in 1997, they got lazy. it\'s alot easier to play loose & funky than it is to play like they did in the early 90\'s.
let me guess... your first show was post hiatus.
-
but i agree freddie, its outstanding.. the last album that felt like it had a theme, told a story. id go Ghost before Lawn Boy....... (on most days)
-
i know, honestly im kidding around, i just like to stir **** up a little bit.
-
gordos tough as nails...whew..i love the album, ive loved it since day 1 and i think its gotten better through time..go easy on dirty mendez, chief!
-
theme from the bottom is on Billy.. but i personally think Marcial is a moron for saying Story of the Ghost contributed to the decline. By far their funkiest album and youre posting on the Breakfast\'s website Ghost sucked!? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I dont know, lately ive been putting my mp3 player on shuffle and i have about 50 Phish shows on it, i dont look to see what year each song is from-- i listen and try to figure it out by energy and how much it grabs my attention... for the most part i know \'91 through \'94 immediately, everything is so tight and their balls are exposed most of the time, but theres been a few tunes from 98 that have fooled me. the Live Phish 6 release is outstanding, their Halloween show is sick, and two days later their third set was okay:
Harpua > The Dark Side of the Moon > Harpua
encore: Smells Like Teen Spirit
Ghost is phenom, everything post Ghost has moments but very few. Long live \'98, and Marcial send me your address so I can mail you some knee pads.
-
check out ventura 98 awsome show! funky jamed bathtub gin to open, poor heart with a ton of false endings and moma dance in first set. set two started out with drowned > makisupa. check it out

Momadance, meat, birds Of A Feather.the Album Is Packed With Ser Tunes.theme From The Bottom!!

story of the ghost=the best phish album ever!
Not sure if it\'s the best - my vote still goes to Rift, but marcial, it\'s not that bad - gotta love Limb By Limb, Ghost and my alltime favourite strum/growl along song: Wading In The Velvet Sea.
Farmhouse is a different matter - prefer the rawness of Trampled By Lambs... As for Round Room, still haven\'t bothered to get it - even just to complete the phish collection. May pick it up in a bargain bin in another 10 years or so. ;)
-
nevermind....
-
which song / album is that from ?
-
another stellar album that dirty mendez probably hates....
-
"its crowded in the lowlands, but the fools stay on the hills...
you control us now, you have the reigns...
do something or we will"
-
the sad thing is,im definately the only one who feels that way....at the time i sorta might have been kidding, but im definately not now.think of the tunes on that album, and how great the are..
-
story of the ghost=the best phish album ever!
come on, guy!

story of the ghost=the best phish album ever!
-
1) Best Phish show ever - 12/31/93
2) Anything after 1997 is ****... seriously.
3) The Farmhouse encore (hell, the entire album for that matter, along with Story of the Ghost) - one of the primary contributers to #2.
-
:sigh: ROOKIES
-
agree..except for the farmhouse encore and i got bad directions going to the show and ended up somewhere in ohio
Couldn\'t have said it better, farmhouse encore was a little. . .out of place, I guess. Can\'t say the same about getting bad directions, but I ended up in Ohio trying to find somewhere to buy beer.

*cough*phishsucks*cough*

I\'ve been to a bunch of shows dating back to 97, fall 97 to be exact where i got my first taste of phish and was hooked from the note, but that nassau show was probally the best show i\'ve seen by them, but i\'d like to hear those providence island tour shows again. I\'m with ya gencs.
-
PITTSBURGH summer 03\' nasty nasty.
agree..except for the farmhouse encore and i got bad directions going to the show and ended up somewhere in ohio
-
well opinions are like **** and there are a lot of both on internet message boards....
I loved the shows and times shared on the road with phish and will hold those memories dear in my heart....
and 2-28-03 epicness will be debated till the end of time. I know many many heads who have been to a ton of phish shows dating back to 93 through coventry who hold that nassau show in the highest 2 set esteem....
-
for everyone except for you Leith..
As for my phish experience, 27 shows from 9-9-99 Albany to Camden 04. I had a blast at every show I saw, but that Nassau show was just amazing...
GET BACK ON THE FAT MAN JAM!!!!
Ain\'t that the truth. As for your claim, well if that is the best you saw It looks pretty ser but anything post hiatus for me is hard to get excited abt. A few GREAT moments but just not the same musically or energy wise as say pre \'97.
-
that show was alright...PITTSBURGH summer 03\' nasty nasty. not a real big phish fan but ive seen em a bunch and that show was pretty rediculous
-
So it is acceptable to disagree w/ someone on best shows on this board? Wow
