No prob. I tabbed all the Minor 7 chords as Root 5. It\'s actually easier to play as a whole if you play some as root 6 voicings.
-
Lerherbles you\'re the man. Many thanks! I owe you a drink brah

Frankly Po Zest
The first part is a 7#9 chord moved down chromatically. (I don\'t know if Tim plays these exact fingerings)
(He might play the chord without the root note with the band)
----------------------------------------------------------------(2X)-|-----|
--15-15-15-15---15-15-15---15-15-15----15-14-13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-|-4---|

The next part the chords are played by the keys:
|--------------------10------------------5------------------------------
|----4-5-6--10-12-13----13-12-10---- 6-8-5------------------------------
|----3-4-5-------------------------- 5-7-6------------------------------

----5-6-7---------------------------7-9-7------6-5-4----------------------10/11---11-10-9
----3-4-5-------------------------- 5-7-7------4-3-2-------------------------------------
----------------------------------------5------------------------------------------------
------------(12-12-12-12----12-12-12-12)---------------------------------------------(2x)--|
--3-4-5-----(9--9--9--9-----9--9--9--9-)---------------------------------------------------|
--2-3-4-----(9--9--9--9-----9--9--9--9-)---------------------------------------------------|
--4-5-6-----(11-11-11-11----11-11-11-11)--(This is played by Tim the first time only)------|
--2-3-4------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Then the Vamp (again the chords are played by the keys)
F#m7 E/F#
|/ / / /| 3X
Dmaj7
|/ / / /|
but you can play them like this:
F#m7 E/F# Dmaj7
-----------------------
---10---9------10------
---9----9------11------
---11---9------11------
---9----9--------------
---------------10------

best ear training I\'ve ever done was to run chromatic scales and sing along with them. That helps you get to the point where you can sing a note and find it on the guitar. Then all you have to do is sing the melody. Still damn hard, but I can usually at least find the right key.
-
Or, for some ear-training skills, play by listening and not looking. (yeah right, not so easy)

More to follow if you really wanna do this!

Im going to the living room show on 8/7 If i run into Tim, I\'ll ask him. I dont want to **** anybody off.
-
i agree with ya frank. one of the times they were in town tim actually did show me acouple of things that i had questions about. i have just been trying to work on my phrasing. so i have been trying to transcribe solos and riffs.
-
there are no tabs available of pb. I\'d check with tim before you start posting things to see if he\'s cool with it. if he does allow it, he might help you figure stuff out. You could always ask him what he does in whatever part of whatever song next time your at a show, and he\'ll probably tell you.
-
is there anywhere that has pb tab posted, or does anyone have any that they can email. i have been trying to transcribe some of duece, but i get stuck and need a push sometimes.
pls shoot me an email if ya got any help: willie@willieandme.com

I can read sheet for drummers, but some of the **** he plays is out of control. Well, most of the **** he plays is out of control. Damn. That boy can rip it up. Try if you must, I will try to pick it apart myself afterwards. Good luck!

If you want a challenge, you can\'t beat the Grand scheme of things, or spunk. However, I would suggest Lit as a first song and see how far you get. Its a simple circus theme in 3/4 (oopm-pa-pa).
Additionally, if you really want to pick your brain, don\'t do tab, do sheet music for all four instruments. It will give you a much better idea of pb\'s rhythmic style to see how the instruments work against each other (especially adirens pollyrhythms), which are things that tab doesn\'t really convey. This is where lit is a great song. It always starts real loose, and it sounds like all the instruments are fighting each other; however on closer look you\'ll find the rhythm is actually holding them together in a weird sort of loose almost free time.
even if you can\'t figure out the full chords or exact notes, just try getting the rhythm slashes for each instrument in one part of one song and look at how it all fits together. A warning: its not all in 4/4 and there are tuplets (quintuplets and sextuplets sometimes). Tim especially likes using these in jams to spice up the rhythm.
It will also show you the bands chord structuring as a unit and give you a better understanding of how the melodies twist around each other. Theres alot of information in there, but if you can read sheet music, thats definetly the way to go. It will teach you dynamics and note length as well as what note to play. write me if you need to. paulryan01@yahoo.com

Cool, I\'ll get on that.

Oh yes. I play in a PB-style band out here in the desert... Phoenix.. would be cool to be able to bust into a Phaddy jam... if you\'re down for tabbing out that one, it would be cool.... Phaddy Boom Baddy. Word.

Hey, whats up? I am student at berklee college of music. I was thinking about Tabbing pb songs for the website. If there are any pb songs that any pb fan guitarist would like tabbed out, reply to this post. Im not sure how many pb fans play guitar so I don\'t want to do it if it doesn\'t benefit anyone. peace Dave
