So much for the subzero temperatures. It was 64 here yesterday and should be up to 67 or so today. I actually drove in to work with my windows down. I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen weather like this in January before.

[edit]

It just hit 70 here! Def breaking some records these past few days.

I got the hedgehog from a breeder in Pelham, NH. They are very expensive because they are difficult to raise as babies, they\'re rare, etc. Mine was around 180 dollars.

It\'s worth the price, especially if you end up with one as friendly and funny as mine. It\'s so cute to watch her run on her wheel and play with her toys in her cage. She\'s a good little buddy.

Mike, my dad actually made those speakers when he was in college. He and his friends bought a set of really nice speakers, not sure what kind, and then reverse engineered them and made a whole bunch of them so they all had four speakers for pretty cheap. They still sound great; they\'re probably my favorite possession.

Yikes I hope that works out alright. I had that happen once on Christmas because I was cheap and let myself run out of oil... And I was lucky the pipes didn\'t burst when I got some oil because it was an old apt. with forced hot water.

story...

i was driving arond today when i happened to look into my back seat and notice the diet pepsi that my friend left in my car from the toads place trip.  it had exploded from the cold and there were millions of little ice pieces all over my back seat.  it took me about 20 minutes in the freezing cold to get most of it out using my ice scraper/brush.  my seat is still stained though, it sucks.

and jocelyn, you have a hedgehog?

That has happened to me before, but with beer.

And, yes, I have a hedgehog. Please ignore the mess; my dog knocked a plant over etc.:

it\'s so cold that my students have indoor recess... I\'m trying to enjoy my lunch break, but as of right now, there are about 12 kids screaming, running, and playing around the classroom. :wah:

No worries. Today is supposed to be the coldest and it will slowly warm up as the weekend approaches.

They were saying it may be in the 50\'s next week so today and tomorrow will be really cold but thats about it.

And my first day at bioarding school in Maine was -75 degrees with the wind chill and exposed skin warnings. this is nothing.

Never Ski and Drink ? what are you a commie :)

Knowing that it would freeze quickly, he chugged it all on the tram ride up.

NEVER drink and ski...herbal remedies only!!!!

Gregg, I hear ya. Same exact boat- not too many kids wnt to take horeseback riding lessons in this kind of weather. Not to mention, the riding rings are totally iced over, so there\'s not a lot I can do.

This is getting to be a real pain in the ass.  Because of the cold and snow, I\'ve worked a total of 2 days since Christmas since my boss is too stupid to get us inside work.  I\'m not looking forward to looking for another job again.  Most employers aren\'t too keen on hiring an unexperienced college drop out that can\'t readily pass a drug test no matter what the company is.  At least, poverty isn\'t something new to me, and I can handle month long stints w/o a dime in my pocket.

It is -5 right now, with wind gusts of abotu 15 mph, not that serious, but definitely unpleasantly cold, and right now I\'m watching my dog scamper around in the backyard, digging in snow and having a grand old time. Just thought that was funny. This kind of weather could make me quit smoking!
