Grateful Dead hour in the Uk? Now that would really be something. Touch of Gray was of course the only Dead song to ever get any airplay here.

Got my revenge though on radio stations by playing Europe 72 in its entireity over three consecutive weeks when I was a dj on the late night college radio Friday rock show. We only had about 100 regular listeners, but I always did my best to play as much obscure psychedelia like Kaleidoscope, The Seeds, (and everything on the Nuggets album) etc in between the expected Purple, Zep, Maiden, Motorhead etc. Best bit was that people started asking for more studio Dead - my copy of Skeletons got a lot of play and when I left, those original copies of Europe 72 and Nuggets came with me. Lucky they did as a year later the station closed and the stations collection was impounded by the college authorities and god knows what happened to it.

WHCN had two hours of Dead for a while. David Gans\' show for the first hour, followed by the DJ\'s picks for the second hour
