The Herbie Hancock show at UMass was only $5 from what I remember. I saw lots of great stuff for cheap as a UMass student. Wailers for $5. Crazy punk show with national bands for only $3. 2 sets of PB in Butterfield for $3. The good old days when the school subsidized the ticket prices.

All of the Phish shows I saw in Amsterdam were at a place called Paradiso. This is, in my opinion, one of the best venues on the planet. Paradiso is an old (probably 18th century) church that has been converted into a concert hall. It has a large open floor with a balcony around the three non-stage walls. The sound is great and there is a large stained-glass window behind the stage that was backlit during parts of the show. It\'s a pretty impressive effect. As well, alcohol and herb/hashish can be purchased at the bar.
That February 97 show was the second time I saw Phish . I was right in front of Trey at the left side of the stage and he looked like he had spent most of the day in a coffee shop. His eyes were totally bloodshot and almost rolled up into the back of his head. Even so, they played quite well although I do recall Trey messing up some of Divided Sky.
My favorite of all the European shows I went to was the first night of the Copenhagen shows. That will probably be my all time favorite Phish show.

I\'ve already got, I believe, all of the Phish European shows from the three 97-98 Europe tours. Also, I\'ve got the Dead sets from Watkins Glen, including the soundcheck from the previous day, and the jam from the end of the ABB\'s set. I\'d be interested in the ABB and the Band sets. My list is at http://db.etree.org/wstielau. I\'ve also got a lot of 2004 Breakfast shows that aren\'t listed yet. I prefer flac or shn files if you have them.

They\'re in no particular order. Lemme give it a shot now that I can see straight...
10. Bon Jovi/Goo Goo Dolls (08/04/03)
09. Lynyrd Skynyrd (2000)
08. John Mayer/Maroon 5 (for my lady friend) (08/15/04)
07. The Dead (08/08/04)
06. Phil Lesh & Friends (11/26/03)
05. Poison/Vince Neil/Skid Row (2003)
04. Dream Theater/Joe Satriani/King\'s X (09/10/02)
03. The Dead/Steve Winwood (06/21/03)
02. Berkfest \'03 (MMW, The Slip, Warren Haynes, Flaming Lips)
01. Poison/Cinderella/Winger/Faster Pussycat/Pretty Boy Floyd (2002) Seriously...
And to explain the shows that didn\'t make the cut:
The Who/Robert Plant (July 2002): terrible seats + poor sound + 5 hour drive + missing Robert Plant = shitty show
The Allman Brothers Band (08/21/04): Oakdale + Couldn\'t stand up without fat, old yuppies yelling to sit down + Not really the Allman Brothers anymore = shitty show
Barenaked Ladies/Vertical Horizon (July 2001): Barenaked Ladies + Vertical Horizon = shitty show

In roughly chronological order, here\'s my list:
Rick Wakeman - 1985 - first rw show
Steve Marriot & The Packet of Three - 198? - saw him numerous times in small clubs couldn\'t pick out one show, but he was fantastic every time, AND a nice guy to boot.
Motorhead - Montpellier, France 1988 - tiny club in the south of France, damn, they were loud - Girlschool were also one of the opening acts. Got backstage with Lemmy and Co beforehand as I knew their tourbus drivers.
Spirit - Bristol 1988?? (Raptures Tour - fought to hold back the tears during Nature\'s Way and spent all the interval and most of Wishbone Ash\'s set talking to Ed and Randy)
Gongmaison - 1990 - Didier arrived from France just in time for the encore, having just had kidney stones removed. Made for one hell of an encore.
Gong - 25th Birthday Party - what a day/night - 12 hours of gong and family. By 5pm all we could face was coffee though - HEAVY man!!!
Chuck Prophet - 199?- - tiny club where he played for an hour past curfew for the princely sum of ?3
Arthur Lee & Love - 2002 - just the band without the Forever Changes orchestra - how Mike does all the horn and flute parts is a miracle.
SCI - 2002 - sorry, my first incident, so has to be in there.
Charity Show in aid of Birmingham Children\'s Hospital, 1986 - ELO, Moody Blues, Robert Plant, Roy Wood (singing I Wish It Could Be Xmas Everyday in March was surreal!) etc, then compere Jasper Carrott (fantastic UK comic) pulled out the icing on the cake for the final encores - George Harrison.
Honourable mentions too to Kula Shaker, Jellyfish and Uriah Heep.

After sitting down and pondering a bit I believe these are the 10 best shows I can remember. Sort of chronological order.
01. Mahavishnu Orchestra 12/71-1/72 Middletown, CT
Don\'t recall the exact date but it was around Christmas time. The show isn\'t listed anywhere online that I can find but it was in a cafeteria at Wesleyan University. I had never heard or heard of Mahavishnu orchestra before and I really didn\'t know what to expect. I sat on the floor dead center right in front of the stage. John came out with a double-neck SG, stood quietly for a minute and then launched into \'Meeting of the Spirits.\' I had never heard anything that sounded remotely like it and was hooked for life. Over the next few years I saw them several more times but nothing like that first show.
02. Pink Floyd 3-18-73 Waterbury, CT
03. King Crimson 5-6-73 Waterbury, CT
04. Genesis 12-12-74 Waterbury, CT
05. Frank Zappa 10-29-75 Waterbury, CT
Some of my favorites were from the Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT. That was a great concert venue. I haven\'t lived in CT since the 70\'s and I understand there have not been concerts there in quite a while but it\'s currently being refurbished.
06. Grateful Dead/The Band/The Allman Bros 7-28-73 Watkins Glen, NY
I believe this one still holds the record for largest concert ever held. 600000 people for one day with three bands. A sea of tents extending to the horizon in all directions. Great Dead show and outstanding jam with all of the bands after The Allmans finished.
07. Phish 2-17-97 Amsterdam, NL
08. Phish 6-30-97 Amsterdam, NL
09. Phish 6-30-98 Copenhagen, Denmark
These were the opening night shows of my European excursions to see Phish. We need The Breakfast playing Melkweg or Paradiso in Amsterdam. I\'d buy plane tickets the day it was announced.
10. Gong 6-30-99 San Juan Capistrano, CA
These guys were a major part of my soundtrack of the 70\'s but I never got to see them live until over 20 years later.

No way I could put these in a numerical order as they are all moments I cherish deeply and hold all just as important as the others in the development of my musical taste. I could list another 10-20 moments just as big in their own way but the thread is 10 so here goes:
6/13/86 maybe the 14th Metallica opening for Ozzy Long Beach Arena( Ozzy was pissed \'cause he got booed. (Metallica was that good)
Guns and Roses Fender\'s Ballroom Long Beach Ca. summer of 87 i think.
7/8/81 America Orange County Fair (my first concert that I paid for my ticket)
4/13/85 Grateful Dead Irvine Meadows( 1st Dead show)
Big Cypress specifically the all nite set.
Iron Maiden San Diego Sports Arena Jan. of 2002 ( most psychedelic Metal Show EVER!!)
Any JGB show @ The Warfield of which there were many
Bruce Hornsby in 2000 I think. 4th and B. S.D. He played my request for Scarlet
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones 1st show 12/31/91 opening for the Dead.
Horde \'94 S.D. Jam w/ MMW Leftover Salmon and Taj Mahal
