pencilgrass Update - Sep 06, 2005:
I would like to thank my assistant\'\'s assitant Gers for taking care of the e-mail last week. I was on a case that required my full attention. I can\'\'t give away too many details, but suffice to say I was trapped in a smallish coffin-like container for a couple of days before emerging from the stale air into a seaside warehouse which smelt strongly of danger and clams. It should be sufficient to say that I tightened my belt as I rose out of the packing peanuts and reached for my Chief\'\'s Special. Well, suffice it to say that nothing gives a man courage like the feel of ice cold steel, and it was only moments later that my back-up arrived to find themselves having needlessly sped to my side, ready to give assistance I no longer needed.
One should be suffited to know that I am back and bring a list of shows that include SOUTHERN TOUR DATES.

We\'\'ve been getting all sorts of wonderful letters from our fans, new and old, recently. I would like to share one that came from Frye Dinkton of Akron who encountered Pencilgrass recently in West VA at the All-Good Fest. The sentiments expressed are typical of our many many fan letters, and I hope it lends some insight into just why Pencilgrass is so damned important to the proper functioning of the universe.

Having won $7000 at the spider racetrack, thanks to the heroric efforts of On a Tare, the \'\'seven-legged wonder\'\' as the arachno-bookies refer to him, the wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a night of dining and dancing. Following a supurb bisque and a passable foxtrot, we ambled down towards the theatre to take in the new musical version of Jonathan Livingston Seagull. I was disappointed about certain liberties taken with the plot, but all and all the evening was splendid. Why the only thing that could possibly have topped it would be an evening with Pencilgrass.\'\'

The observant ones out there will note that there is no Bar show this month, though one had been planned for June 22. Why not take this oppurtunity to come see Rob, Gers, and Juan in their other project, The Mountain Movers, down at Galapagos in Brooklyn on the same night (June 22, for those without short term memories...don\'\'t worry, we won\'\'t ask...). This also means that TOMORROW is your big chance to catch P!Grass in New Haven (at the ol\'\' Cafe Nine). The Nine shows are equally as legendary as the Bar shows, and anyone who wishes to brag 20 years from now to their children about how they used to be cool and even saw pencilgrass before they exploded into superstardom shouldn\'\'t miss it.

Langerado was a blast! Thousands of people got see PGRASS kick off the event like only they could! The rest of the Miami dates were sizzling and we have a few more to go.Thanks for supporting the band and we\'ll see you all again as we head North up the east coast!
The homecoming dates start on March 26 at Sully\'s in Hartford and then at
Southpaw in Brooklyn on March 30! Be there or be square! April is going to
be a busy month indeed. The 2 shows we\'d like to high light (pun intended)
are on 4/20 at Toads Place when we open for Grammy Winner Jeff Coffin (of
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones) and his Mu\'tet. This is going to be a great
night of music and we encourage you to come down. Grab our "Toads Tickets"
at all the usual haunts.
Next show not to miss will be at The Puppet House Theatre on 4/29. We\'ve invited funksters Electric Mayhem and Back of the Bus to share the bill. At last, after reading about tghem for a while, I get to hear what pencilgrass sound like. Have downloaded the mp3s - not what I\'d usually listen to, but pretty good. You can hear the 60s/70s funk, but they also remind me a bit of the old ska stuff from the early 80s, especially on Waiting Room. Will have to hear a bit more to get a firmer opinion.
Don\'t know if it\'s a problem, but the Radio Requests and Promote The Band buttons don\'t seem to be displaying correctly in Firefox - there\'s a square of a different colour in the middle. Doesn\'t appear to be an "artisitic" touch as the squares are off centre. I may be wrong though.

Wish I made it but Hot Buttered Rum was great...I love a hoe-down every once in a while, I was wasted by the time I met you cats outside the 9...after that it all gets hazy!!! I think I ended up taking the fat kid way home and stopping at Wendy\'s...drunk food consumption at an unknown time at night is what helps keep my figure looking as good as it does.

good to hang last might Stevie - yeah the crowd was off last night. Last week was stuffed.
They are doing every thursday there except for 10/14 to the Toads show w/ Ozomatli.
I think the promo for ilford should hit the streets this week and next week should be back to normal!

Went to the Amberjacks show last night. The crowd was thin but there were some kids there gettin down ghetto breakdancin and ****. The keyboardist for this band is pretty good, and a riot to watch as well.....
all in all...I wish I were rollin my asscheeks off for this one.....

When I used to book support for the guys or even turn PB Fans onto a new act.. everyone has always been GREAT. Cross polination of music and fans is vital to everyones success.
Based on my experience w/ PB andthe fans i KNOW most of you would enjoy these guys.. otherwise.. I wouldn\'t even waste time.
