They would def. get bigger faster if they played out here more than twice a year. BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I honestly feel like the band has a good foothold on the west coast. I think they should play out there as much as possible.

Sunday August 1st:
Grampas Grass 1-2pm 2nd Stage
The Maykers 2-4pm Main Stage
Decided to blow off Santa Monica Breakfast after listening to a few Transcendental Hayride and Global Funk live cuts and realizing ALO was playing Main Stage Friday.
-
Well I got bumped from the Main Stage as the company that underbid me has decided to bring their own LD as he is touchy with his rig. Understandable but still a bummer.
The good news is that the 2nd stage will now recieve some love as I managed to convince production to change from constant lighting to dimmable, allowing me to @ least play a bit. This also means I can now go see The Breakfast in Santa Monica as that would not have been feasible had I been running Main Stage.
So I guess things all work out. 14 Below is a small place but the guys BLOW IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
aah people bailing out huh? Well no worries, I mean all of OB will be there so I am sure we can find you some space w/ the cool kids.
-
I\'ll take you up on some camping space... Might be just me Sat night
-
Anymore pbfans coming out?
-
Todd and I are on our way out. cant wait!!
-
never mind, I just remembered that my mom is in town until the 29th
Have fun everybody.
-
Yeah I\'m camping. May have someone in an RV showing up but I am planning on getting a few prime spots and label them "production" hehe so if u want a spot on the river let me know.
-
Leith, Are you camping? I\'m still trying to rally the troups for this one! I could host some peeps too if anyone needs a place to crash!
-
You really should. It will be a blast. Some people are flying in early and leaving a couple days after the Bash. My place still has some floor space, beds and air mattresses have been called. :) May have an RV also.
-
It is making the bash very attractive. I might try to fly out and catch this.
-
Actually the guys that throw the thing LOVE the guys. The only thing I really did was getting the "committee" to commit to the Prime slot. They were going to have 2 slots(Main/2ndstage) with the influx of talent the decision was made to cut some secondary spots. Their Main stage spot was going to be moved but I started some lobbying and made sure they got Sat. closing. Basically made sure they had time to "stretch" out ya know? They could have gone on earlier but time would become a factor they should not have to face.

Maybe it was ALL THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep that\'s it. Seeya all there. I\'ll be the guy@ the Lighting Board for every main stage act.
You are da man. Helping make it happen for the band. Truly a general among this small army of fans.
Congrats on the gig. Set that place on FIRE!
-
I heard they would be in and out. I hope Tim does bring his acoustic though.
-
Are the boys chillin at the festival all weekend or are they plannin any other Cali shows while they\'re out here? Would love some Timmy Acoustic action one night too... Might be able to set that up...

What a freakin\' slot, there\'s no reason this shouldn\'t be the best Breakfast show to date.

Makes perfect sense to me Todd, and it is about time. How many times have they put together a great performance and then not gotten anything the following year? Berkfest \'01 and \'02, shred the place apart, don\'t get asked back for \'03. And the ultimate insult, playing possibly the greatest PB show ever at Camp Creek \'01, then not getting asked back because they showed up Max Creek. (They were too good.) This slot is long overdue. It can\'t rain, there are no other bands playing, there\'s guaranteed to be thousands at the fest, I don\'t see how this show can fail short of entirely unforseeable catastrophe. (I said the 9/14/1 Iron Horse show couldn\'t fail either. I was right, it didn\'t, but who could have forseen a terrorist attack and the band getting all their gear stolen in the week before the show?) So I hate to jinx this show, but how can it go wrong? This show is gonna be colossal.

Well due to the influx of bands instead of having 2 slots The Breakfast are now just playing the time listed on thebreakfast.net. Which is closing out Sat. night so that\'s not too bad.
New site map to be up soon and the Band schedule is up now
-
Coachella is hell. Believe it. too hot and wacked out "hipsters". High Sierra is ser i give u that, but ask Todd abt the Baja Bash site. You also have to realize this fest is just coming into it\'s own as it has been in Mexico until last year. So very much under the radar so to speak. But I will tell you that you are blowing it by not comin\' out if @ all possible + the price is a freakin\' bargain for a 4 day fest. As for vibes @ a Biscuit show both times i have seen them aud. energy blah and stage energy so so. Could be that not alot of people knew the material such as myself(yet both shows sold out) I have seen them @ the Belly Up great club but the shows were labeled as sold out w/ PLENTY of room still in the club. What up w/ that? Biscuit policy to play to a 1/2 full club and call it sold out. @ the 1st one I had 3 friends denied entry as they stood there looking @ me inside a 1/2 full club as I was thinking "well their lighting rocks why don\'t they?" The 2nd time was a bit better in the jammin\' out but still not my cup o\' tea for everyday listenin\' but their lights still rock!
Oh yeah this was def. not a club policy. They pack \'em in @ The B-UP!
-
No need for hostility man;) Ilove reggae and good vibes and if you haven\'t felt good vibes at at Biscuit show maybe you are hangin out with the wrong crowd...as for Baja there are many festivals in the eastern part of the country with a lineup much more exciting than that...sorry, but it is true. If I am coming west for a fest it would be H.S. or Coachella.

Sorry u feel that way but coming from a Disco Biscuit fan I expected such. ;) U no like reggae? U no like kind vibes?
**** it man! Bring YOUR ass to the party u will have a brand new vision.

honestly, I LOVE the Breakfast but who would really travel from the east coast to go see that ...maybe I am just getting tired of the over saturation of jambands...the only good thing on that list is The Breakfast and I can\'t afford CA just for them(even though I love the boyz!!!)
-
Pretty much yeah. They have been knocked down the ladder w/ each update(this being the last one) but other than YMSB(which is a current fad though a really good band) the other bands listed ahead of them have had big crowds for awhile. Due to their excellence though The Breakfast have been slotted for 2 performances @ the Bash !!
-
Is that copied from the fest website? I can\'t beleive we\'re 5th behind KDTU, Kimock, Spearhead, and Yonder Mountain, that\'s great!! Then again, PB SHOULD be ahead of every other band on there. Even though they should be the 5th biggest band on that lineup, after 4 years of looking at fest lineups and seeing PB buried in the middle it\'s great to see them listed right after a band like Yonder Mountain.

More bands will be announced soon!
Dear friends,
We are pleased to announce that Baja Bash 2004 will be happening.
July 29 ? August 1? a full moon weekend! Once again the festival will take place along the foothills of Palomar Mountain at the La Jolla Indian Reservation near San Diego, California. Majestic scenery, flowing river, GREAT MUSIC, and kind people have made Baja Bash the event of the year! So we urge you to mark your calendars and join us for what is expected to be the biggest and best Baja Bash ever!
To ensure that this year?s festival rocks ass big time, we will be bringing you some of the best musicians in the nation! Michael Franti & Spearhead are just the start to an amazing and diverse group of artists that will be announced soon. Meaning that all of you devoted Baja Bashers, and newcomers, are in for a real treat!
In addition to our largest musical line up to date, Baja Bash 2004 will include; on-site transportation, kids programs, workshops, fire dancers, more facilities, more vendors, a micro-brew beer garden, better stage locations, and a full moon! We have also made arrangements to obtain the entire La Jolla Indian Campground for Baja Bash 2004. This allows us the accessibility to produce a much-improved festival for all to enjoy. With these upgrades we encourage you to join us for the music and arts event of the summer!
Starting April 10th, 2004, four-day festival tickets will be available for purchase at a very low price? the lowest price you will see all year! We will begin by offering a limited number of early-bird tickets that will only be available while supplies last. Once the initial allotment of early bird tickets have been sold the price will increase, therefore, we recommend that you buy your tickets as early as possible and save money! It?s the best way! Tickets will be available through our online shopping cart at the Baja Bash website, or by mail order. Please stay tuned for more information.
On a side, We have received much feedback regarding the renaming of this event, and are happy to say that the consensus is to keep the name the same? Baja Bash! Viva la Baja Bash!
See you all this summer!
Sincerely,
Your friends at Promised Land Productions?
