Hubinger St does, in fact, have a new thing going as of late. My friend John is their new bassist and they\'ve been doing quite a few shows in the past couple of weeks. If you have never seen these guys, do yourself a favor and check them out, you won\'t be disappointed at all!

1.) Yes I have seen Hubinger Street on several occasions. One time I can remember is up in Providence in that back room that was connected to a larger club. I remember that the sound guy was ****, but the band rocked. I think that it was the first time PB played L.A. Woman. I think that most of the reason I dislike Hubinger is because I had to listen to a drunk Kerry tell everyone how great they were udring every conversation. They may be talented musicians, no one is taking that away from them, but as a group, I think they sucked. I think at most they should be getting a first or second slot at Toad\'s out of a 5 slot night.
2.) Max Creek. If they decided not to get big because they wanted to start families, that\'s respectable, but who\'s to say that is not jus an excuse for not making it. I\'ve seen them on many occasions where PB got stuck opening up for them at Toad\'s and wondered why. Why these arrogant pricks gave PB a 40 minute slot in which to play so that they could have four hours to play at best average jam music. I\'ve also found myself walking out of those same shows because Max Creek bored the hell out of me. The same way that Warren Haynes, Derick Trucks and anyone else that basically plays basically the same song all night, just in a different key or a different tempo, it still sucks!
And let me clarify, just because I live in Jersey and many of you guys that have come aboard since I\'ve left, don\'t think that I haven\'t seen anyone that is on the scene and know who is who, **** off. For the most part, I think that most Jam Band music sucks. I can\'t stand free form jazz and although I like the Dead, Jerry was not and is not the end all to music. He had his place in time. Leave it at that. PB was one of the few bands that broke that mold for me because they were different. They didn\'t go out there to sound like the Dead or Phish. I can\'t stand it when the Jam Band nation expects you to appreciate all the music because it is Jam Band music. I\'d much rather listen to Bruce, Pearl Jam or Black 47 than bands like Widespread (sorry Marcial, no offense inteanded), Moe or any other band that can\'t connect with me. But what do I know, I\'m just a Jersey Fag.

Yoda U r so wrong. Max Creek has stayed @ the level they are @ on purpose. This band decided that raising family was more important than touring. There is a reason they have stayed in such a small area. They never even really attempted to tour and still have a HUGE fanbase! I have a friend who grew up in the CT. area and Max Creek is The Band to him and alot of his friends. He goes back all the time to see them. Mike Gordon is quoted saying he would have put Scott M. on the list of top 100 guitar players recently printed by RS. This band has had a hand in helping other up and coming bands get exposure via Camp Creek. I gotta say YOU SUCK YODA and I don\'t even know what I\'m talking about just like you spouting off w/o reason.

Yoda....get bent...how can a Jersey fag like yourself even make that claim? Have you even seen Hubie?

Hubinger Street SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Their run a close second to Max Crack (I mean Creek)
Both are no talent bands who\'s aren\'t going to make it. If Max Creek has been around for like 30 years and can\'t get away from Toads Place and the Webster type places, it\'s time to hang it up.

Just been reading a few reviews of old pb shows on dave p\'s thread and found one on the equipment benfit show from Toad\'s in Nov. 01. (This is a show which definitely needs to be be put up on archive.org - what a set and guest list. Alternatively anyone reading this who has a copy and who could burn one...)
My query is this. I see the Hubinger Street guys played a song - Climb if I remember - with pb.
I have a few mp3s of their stuff from a while back including the magnificent "Shoes and a Jacket" but have never seen lossless versions of their shows. I think they are still going as they did a radio show on March 6th, but I can find nothing on them - website/information/shns etc
Can anyone help?
