never forget 9/13/01
-
The theme of the night was not "Hope". The theme of the night was "should not have been playing shows on 9/12/01 and 9/13/01." Most bands canceled their shows. Breakfast should have got in line. Result: van and all gear stolen, Breakfast bankrupt, years of debt to Sonance Records who footed most of the bill to replace the gear. 9/14 was incredible and was the right time to start doing things again. 9/12 and 9/13 shouldn\'t have happened.
I guess it\'s a good thing that we can still say that 9/13/01 is the darkest moment in Breakfast history, by far. Things have never been bleaker than they were that night after that show.
