Hey all - just a quick update on what\'s going on out there with the band \'Hubinger St.\'. As many of you know, guitarist Matt Miklus severed a few fingers on his left hand back in the fall of \'08 - and after many follow-up surgeries and intense physical therapy, he has been able to continue teaching guitar as well as learning to play lap steel guitar (solo acoustic as well as electric). His amazing drive and determination is truly an inspiration to all of his friends, students, fans and family!
\'Hubinger St\' is now back doing local gigs on a fairly regular basis, and if you weren\'t able to check out their recent shows at BAR in New Haven (or even if you did), you owe it to yourself to check out their next show, which is this Friday, November 12 at Ray Kelly\'s Pub - Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport (a block or 2 from The Acoustic Cafe). Besides Matty on slide, Hubi St consists of Casey Gorman on guitar, Rob Bonaccorso on drums and Sammy Blanchette on bass. A great mix of covers and originals - rock/blues/reggae/bluegrass/jamband, etc.
AND - the great news from Ray Kelly\'s is that George Dewey (Dewey\'s Pub, Seymour) is now part owner! Let the games begin!!!!!!!
