Is Daniel St. available?
I don\'t see NYE booked yet at Daniel St.
How about a Breakfast, Kung Fu, RAQ show?
That would fill the room!!!!
One hour set each...then a motherf*%kin jam of all jams!!!!

My New Year\'s Eve idea:
Daniel Street books Beatles A-Z starting at 8:30/9
Let them play 1 or 2 sets
Have the breakfast play a near/post midnight set
- The venue will sell plenty of tickets to the older/yuppie crowd which will be leaving shortly before or after midnight.
- The breakfast still get to play a NYE set and the crowd after midnight will mostly be made up of bfast fans anyway
My second idea:
Daniel street books A-Z and for the one or 2 of the last sets just play some realy out there psychadellic beatles.

Last New Year\'s was a typical Breakfast crowd on a bad weather night.
The club should have booked another crowd drawing band to help fill the room.
The 25$ price to get in may have turned some people away.
$15-$20 doesn\'t keep people away. The more people in the room the more drinks will be sold!
A buffet table with some good eatin is a nice New Year\'s Eve gesture, too!

yes it is....not a good number for nye, and not to mention..duane,i wouldn\'t under estimate kf draw...we do twice that on a wed. in fairfield.....just sayin brah! the breakfast is going to focas on nh,ma,upstate ny because thats the heat now.
part of my reasoning (or opinion) is based on the fact that i don\'t think you would get that many of those wednesday folks on new years eve to go to milford against all the other things going on. i think bfam would be more likely to show up there. i\'m not saying that you should or shouldn\'t do anything. i\'m just saying that (IMO) the breakfast would do better, there, on that night. i don\'t normally go out on nye but would try hard if you guys were there. btw....i was at the last two fu\'s fool. can you even see the crowd from back there? we should ask matt to webcast the crowd to you! ;)

Well, Adr , I\'m sort of wondering if last year\'s beating was partially because the gig got booked pretty late and people already had NYE plans by then? I don\'t remember my exact reason for not making it.. I suspect I probably intended to and probably had some last minute issue come up. Either way, I will be wherever you guys may play this NYE.. book a hotel or whatever it takes.
I don\'t really know what was the deal with last years show but I feel like it was a combination of factors unlikely to occur again. Was half the crowd guestlisted?
Glad to hear you\'ll focus sort of more up towards me. But I sure love heading down to Sully\'s and Toad\'s... hope you don\'t ever give up those spots (unless you outgrow them).

As I recall, the gig was announced relatively late and the weather was shitty. It was a snowy NYE which didn\'t make for great driving conditions.

I am at the Breakfast NYE show no matter where it is. I am planning on booking a hotel room anyway, so whether it\'s in CT, NH, MA or wherever makes no difference to me. There is really nowhere else I\'d rather be to ring in the New Year. Last year\'s show was phenomenal and there\'s no way I am missing this year\'s show.

sure bro,we did a 3 set show and 60 people paid...that would be a financial beating that i can\'t alaborate on....if we do a new years it would be as far away fom ct as we can get.thats all i can say bud. peace

I personally loved Daniel Street last year, but did notice that it was severely undersold. Luckily for us in attendance, lack of people did not equal lack of musicianship. Amazing performance last year!
Unfortunately with Phish playing MSG, I can only imagine this year\'s attendance would be even less :( It\'s really frusterating for us local fans, but I completely understand the dilemma.
I hope you guys stay open to the possibility of a New Year\'s show at an alternate location...I hope to be in attendance.

Can you elaborate a little more on this? Physical beating? Financial Beating? Something else?
Is a NYE show in the cards? Is the B\'fast actively trying to book somewhere?

I like A-Z as much as the next guy, but I would not attend their show on NYE. Unfortunately, from a venue perspective, they could probably make more money from a Beatles show than B\'fast show. They would cater to a larger older crowd that would be in by 8 and out shortly before/after midnight. The B\'fast is almost sure to draw a much smaller crowd than A-Z.

Actually, to raise the question: Have Breakfast ticket prices not even risen to keep up with the pace of inflation? In 2003 I was paying $10-$12 for PB shows and it seems like the price is exactly the same. I personally have no problem paying $20 to see The Breakfast and I sort of doubt the extra $5 - $8 is a deal breaker for almost anybody who would go to see the band anyway.. especially if they are splitting the bill with an opening band.. that\'s just robbery.
