Openers are always tough at The Iron Horse. If we do another double bill, it will be at a bigger venue. Or if Iron Horse, just us.

1 breakfast set is never enough! I need my Eggs and Bacon!

It was a very successful combonation.  I am down for as many Box/Bfast shows as possible.

Not to be intentionally negative.. but 2 sets of Breakfast plz. It\'s a tight enough time slot that Iron Horse gives the band as it is. Don\'t expect to get lucky with the late closing time very often.

Also Breakfast is strong in Western MA I don\'t think they need a supporting act here. If it was another venue with more time, I\'d be all for it.

Thanks to all who came! a successful freakout and a very happy birthday it was. to another 12 years and more!

maybe another show soon with the indobox in northampton can be arranged. It seemed like a really good turnout, might be good to try and keep the momentum going. Nicole and I would be more than happy to help out promoting around the area again.

What an amazing show, Such high energy from GBFBITS all the way to 2001. It was the first time I had heard Phaddy Boom Baddy live since Let It Roll and personally I think it was a way better performance of it. IHEG disappointed as always but there is something to be said with the way the energy transfers between the band and the crowd in that place. While I usually would agree with the glow sticks being an annoyance I thought it was a nice little **** you to the Iron Horse and the bands didnt really seem to care. Good times for sure and shitty as the people who run the venue are I for one will be standing right there in that sweaty little place next Oct. 29th

gbfbits > x-files jam, space oddity,Metropolis, inca roads, Subterranean Homesick Alien, Phaddy Boom Baddy

E: 2001 w/ Mike (guitar) from the Indobox

Show last night was AMAZING!  Everything was supposed to start @ 10pm, but they didn\'t start letting people in until about 10:40.  Line moved pretty quickly after.  To make up for the late start the venue decided to extend curfew until about 1:45am.

Indobox took the stage about 11pm and played a great opening set.  I\'ve seen a bunch of Indobox shows, but didn\'t recognize a lot of the songs they played.  Definitely a lot of new ones in there, but I was really impressed.  The only song I recognized was Pterrodactyl Park.  Very strong opening set and I knew it would be hard to top...fortunately the Breakfast wasn\'t going to be upstaged

Breakfast got on about 12:15 and opened with GBFieryBalls (which i personally haven\'t seen in years).  It was pretty standard, but the outro jam segued into a very cool and stretched out X-Files jam.  Space Oddity was very solid as well and really got the crowd excited...which by the way was a *GREAT* crowd.  There were a bunch of people there for the BOX, but things picked up over the night.  The entire floor and downstairs area was shoulder to shoulder with people by the end of the night.

Once the band started Metropolis things started to get rowdy.  I haven\'t seen too many B\'fast shows in 2010, but i\'ve seen Metropolis show up on a lot of setlists.  It\'s clear this song has become a heavy hitter.  Unreal version with great energy.  The audience was eating it up with fists in the air.  After Metropolis we got two covers.  I was largely unfamiliar with Inca Roads and didn\'t recognize Subterranean Alien at first.  Both were played well and even though I didn\'t realize what they were playing, there were several people in attendance that you could tell were blown away.  Phaddy Boom Baddy brought everything together nicely to end the show.  Ending jam was very high energy.

After a quick encore break the band came back on with Mike from the Indobox for a nice version of 2001.  I\'m guessing it was probably in the 10-12min range.  Perfect close to the show.

Despite only getting one set, the B\'fast really maximized on their 90 or so minutes.  I feel very lucky to have been in attendance on Friday night.  Thanks again to Chris Fitz for bringing me, Kaz and Zuke up to the show.  I wish I could have a more detailed review, but I was pretty sloppy Friday night.  I can\'t wait to listen back.  Matt was taping from the balcony last night for Indobox and Breakfast...i hope everything came out well

I seriously don\'t know how I functioned today and managed the store. But it was worth the lack of sleep. And freezing my butt off waiting in the line outside. Probably the most ive danced around in ages. Thank you to this fantabulous band. What a show!! And kudos to the indobox they really are superb opener. But iron horse, a small child size guiness should not cost $7.

Gavin couldn\'t get in because he had a real ID they thought was a fake.

Are you ser?!?!?!

Geez, the band plays Inca Roads and Subterranean Homesick Alien but the band\'s huge effort to give the fans something good is matched by the venue\'s huge effort to make the fans feel bad.  What\'s a band to do?  Not fair to the band or the fans.

Well, I\'m glad that they got to play Inca Roads and that the place was jumping!

Hype! Hype! Hype!

I hope the Box is ready to go right at 10 so we can maxize the time for both bands.

Realistically I\'m thinking the Box will get about an hour and the B\'fast will get about an hour and 20 mins

the noho brewery isn\'t that far from the place and there brews are pretty decent.  you can park on the main road and both places are definitely within walking distance a block or so... i don\'t know many other places other than the little tunnel like place underneath the train station...

usually I head over to The Dirty Truth (20+ microbrews on tap always rotating) or the Toasted Owl beforehand for a couple good beers, but could hit up the NoHo brewery, haven\'t been there in ages.

i think they charge to see indobox, then charge us on the way out (exiting fee), then charge us again for the breakfast, then again when we leave again. standard procedure

sounds about right for that venue... I should probably grab a growler to slug down from the NoHo brewery before I head in too... if I remember besides being expensive, the beer selection is pretty limited there...

Add it to the list: Big Black Furry Creature from Mars...

This also means there is a very good chance Space Oddity will be back after a +3 year hiatus. I\'ve been out of town 5 of the last 6 weekends so Noho on a Fri night just isn\'t in the cards for me.

Hey all,

I\'m looking for a ride up for me, Zuke and Kaz to the show.  Worst case scenario I will end up driving, but wanted to see if anyone else was going up in hopes of organizing a carpool.

Of course gas and grass will be offered up for payment.

i dont mind bringing you guys. i have no plans and would rather not drive up there solo

That would be awesome Fitz!  I am going to be at Kung Fu this week so let\'s talk on Wednesday.

Thanks Again!

lol it\'s a buck. IMHO the band should be passing the hat at shows and everyone should pitch in.

If I knew it was all going to the band, I wouldn\'t care!!  I\'d give them $20. But I have a feeling that $4 charge is going somewhere else.

Correct, directly into Eric Suher\'s pockets. Guy\'s got a monopoly on Noho real estate and live music.

They probably made more loot back in the day at Fire and Water!

Northampton is known for its taxation and extra unwanted representation in the form of criss-crossing planes spilling filth overhead. Some of us really are living in the tube. So stupendous!

So, I looked into buying the tix in advance...and they are $10 plus a $4 processing fee.  Making it $14.  But at the door, they are $13.    I know its only a $1, but buying in advance should be cheaper.  Not cool, Iron Horse, not cool.

venue is usually pretty close to sold out no matter when the breakfast play. add in the fact that it\'s a freakout and a killer opening band and i\'d say it\'s a really good possibility. i\'m definitely buying my ticket a few days in advance

zukes right, just bring your tape rig in a deep pocket, and bust it out somewhere in the back .. be careful tho theres not many good places to leave it where employees wont see it (they mostly dont care except at the door) or where young kidz won\'t press your buttons and ****.

I plan to bring mine and have never asked anyone for permission to tape a show for any reason yet, and probably never plan to ;)

Doesn\'t this place have a strict taping policy?  Just curious, in case anyone was planning on capturing this event... I think I\'ve heard you have to submit to tape for it like 2 weeks prior or something.  Maybe thats just BS, but figured I\'d bring it up...

tapers are better off keestering their gear on the way in, then taping **** in hat

either way, i\'m glad this is offish. definitely getting a room nearby and raging this one
