Gotta say that these guys are really growing on me... I just finished listening to the two night stint at Mexicali in \'08 and I\'m hooked
I believe Greg Ellis was on lights that weekend.......HiYo!!

Gotta say that these guys are really growing on me... I just finished listening to the two night stint at Mexicali in \'08 and I\'m hooked... The jams are really good and the whole band is in on the jams rather than one instrument at a time... The only thing that gets to me is that annoying guitar loop effect that seems to show up at every show...
-
Shhhhh, it\'s a secret......
-
Isn\'t Kung Fu opening for Raq?
-
Yoda...? Positive vibes.....?
somethin doesn\'t feel right around here, guys
;)
Trust, it\'s been a really rough month or so and good music and my wife and kids have kept me sain, so, "positive vibes" might continue to come from my mouth...

This is a pretty cool show.

Enjoy.
ha! That was the exact show i was going to recommend
I\'m just about finished with this shows and I really enjoyed it... I\'m not even more serious about the fact that TB should open for these guys on their initial post-hiatus stint... There\'s definite cross-over appeal for Raq fans to TB, why not take advantage of it...
-
RAQ is back, I\'m psyched. I was hoping they weren\'t done for good. What are their dates as of right now? I\'d like to see them again soon... and I\'d also like to see the Breakfast again soon.
so far just the one. 4.30.10 Bowery ballroom, NYC

slaps head in frustration... this is so not why I started this thread.
Guess what everybody, I hate raisins. Anyone who likes raisins is retarded. my grapes are so much better than your raisins. Raisins are geigh.

Processes must be working.
Stoops\' work in KFu is leading me to check out some Raq, which I have really never heard b4.
Thanks for all the show suggestions.

LOL - my "oy vey" wasn\'t a negative thing...
I love the Breakfast. Always have. I met the guys when I was 19. Jordan and I have known each other the longest. About 13 years. We both played keys for the same GD tribute band (Shakedown) in our younger years... My old band Contraption has played multiple shows with the boys pre 2000. And as far as a BRAQfest tour - we actually have done more than a few shows, including two west-coast runs back in 2002 and 2003. There is much love, history, and respect between our two bands, even if our fans choose one band over the other....
(in my best "Curb Your Enthusiasm" attempt:)
Having Said That...
I love Kung Fu. It\'s not going anywhere. The more music played , the more exposure for all of our projects. Everybody wins...
I\'d like to thank you guys for your support, both for Kung Fu, and for those of you who dig my "other" band...
TON.
Stoops
when you both played the webster together was one great night of music. Still remember it was a sick hannah opener. Play shows together more in new england and both bands win!!
Andy, don\'t you mean the southeast?

I bought \'Ton these\', thought it was a pretty boring album and gave it away. Haven\'t seen \'em live so perhaps I should check out one of the LMA suggestions.
Perhaps but knowing you, you\'ll come away with the impression that RAQ is Breakfast lite.
I\'ll bet you a dollar.

I never got into RAQ, though I have no good reason why. Supposing I had 2-3 hours to kill in the office this afternoon, which I do, is there a particular show (streaming available) that I need to check out?
-
I\'ve listened to a couple raq shows and it really doesn\'t do anything for me, but it makes all the sense in the world for TB to allign themselves with these guys right now... Post haitus, these guys are going to blow up and it\'s obvious that their management (or at least their booking) has their **** together... Being an opening act for a tour isn\'t the end of the world; Phish did it for Santana...
not an opening act....co-bill, equal stage time, rotate who opens/closes shows, and play together every as one supergroup every show.
I agree that would be the ideal situation, but right now Raq holds all the cards...

Suprised nobody ripped on me for my long winded babble.
I feel cheated!
"oy vey!"
Krispy should have got down on me in a snap!
The Breakfast, Kung Fu, RAQ is all the same band,
just different players & music.
Let\'s throw in Kicking Daisies while we\'re at it!

RAQ and the breakfast both bring the heat. they should do a tour, rotating which band opens each night. kung fu is great but not completely my cup of tea, i would love to see braqfest hit the road.
that is good "braqfest" or bRAQfast.... either one, would be a sweet event!

RAQ is nasty but The Breakfast and Kung-Fu are nastier still.
-
I will always believe that the future is the Breakfast, but hey, that\'s my bliss!
-
wow.. let the games begin!
Kung Fu is no longer a side project
The Breakfast never was a side project
Just think.. we thought we were losing 1 band.. now we have 3!!
i\'m down with that. i think they should all hit the road together.
that would be huge.
Just as long as Kung Fu continues.
I like the Breakfast, and I like Raq, but Kung Fu is the present and future.

It\'s hard having a band open for you that is in any way harder, louder, or faster than you are.
That is why the breakfast can\'t have raq open for them!!!
just messing with you guys, although raq brings some serious heat. i\'m so glad my favorite band is back!!!!
-
It\'s hard having a band open for you that wipes the floor with you.
fixed.
^^Oy vey^^
Let the record show that I did NOT say that. Boo to quoting people and then altering their words!
-
i wouldnt be surprised to see a kung fu gig pop up in nyc before this show happens.
I would hope so.
-
the sound is great at the bowery! i want to go to this. a tim and adrian sit-in to give raq fans a taste of kung fu would be cool. but i wouldnt be surprised to see a kung fu gig pop up in nyc before this show happens.

Oof!!!
I never caught these guys back before they took a hiatus, but since have been introduced by some friends and interest was defintely sparked watching stoops play with kung fu. i hope that i can try and make this show. if for some reason that i dont... i hope there is more dates that appear!

I\'m just jokin\' around mang. Personally I never understood why there was never a RAQ & Breakfast t00r.
-
My head is spinning with all these bands!
Who\'s doing what, who\'s in what band, who\'s band is more serious & not just a side project.
I don\'t know what the heck band I\'m supposed to put my attention on any more.
Is Kung Fu a side project for Todd until Raq is back in action?
Is The Breakfast a side project until Kung Fu gets going?
They\'re all great players, but who\'s doing what?
It used to be musicians had a band and that was what all their attention & time went to.
Would these guys pick a band they want to do & stick to it.
Get a proper structure to their careers. Get a proper business crew to promote & market their music.
If people focus on one thing properly, something may get done.
The Breakfast has great music, yet they don\'t know what the heck to do with it!
Kung Fu is great music, but what the heck do they want to do with it?
RAQ is great, but are they a band or not?
Pick something guys and focus on it properly and do great things!
I just see more distractions & scattered energy.
Maybe I\'ll just watch Jeopardy reruns.
-
well, i guess the rumor is now official...good to hear, now play northampton

we love our breakfast, stoops! don\'t take offense! the raq v. breakfast debate is nothing new here -- and trust me, raq has their share of heads on this board.
congrats on getting the band back together! i surely will be at that show, rocking out! (it\'s diana, btw...)

Well, conversely, I was plenty exposed to RAQ before Kung-Fu. But that didn\'t mean I really ever listened to them much.
The Breakfast takes a few exposures to really sink in for a lot of people... perhaps Kung Fu will cause many RAQ fans to take another look?
-
Kung Fu stands to benefit much more from opening this show than does The Breakfast. Raq fans have already had many chances to be introduced to The Breakfast. However, they have had little if any chance to experience this new project that happens to involve one of their own, Todd Stoops. Plus if I\'m Raq, I\'d much rather have Kung Fu open. They\'re a great opener; intriguing yet not overwhelming. It\'s hard having a band open for you that is in any way harder, louder, or faster than you are.
^^^^ this.
I think i would personally prefer the b\'fast, but Kung Fu would be the best marketing move.

why would the breakfast ever wanna do something like that?
-
they should, Raq does really well in NYC. should be a pretty full house.
-
TB should definitely try and get an opening spot for this show... It would be great exposure...
