 i want norwalk dates, too!! gonna give it another go...

Tim asked me for some info on Facebook and I sent him a detailed message about the places around here.  That was probably 2 months ago...haven\'t heard anything since.

What About Me!?!?!

Galenas!!!  Grumble, Grumble, Grumble!  Timmy Tour Should Cater To Me!! Why Aren\'t You Kissing My Feet?

::whine, ****, Moan, Complain::

:hair::deadhorse:pissed::babyban::burntban::slap::asskicked

If there was a show tonight, we wouldn\'t learn about it until tomorrow.

Its not Galenas fault here. Its Tim or who ever is booking these gigs and not telling anyone. How hard is to forward an email with the dates to someone who can post them?

O\'Neil\'s is booked through June and the owner says he is happy with his current rotation and is not looking for anyone else at the moment, unfortunately. ---> what\'s next on the list, nick?

Hey Yoda...thanks for adding your opinion, but it means ZERO on this board.  I\'ve seen you talk out of your ass before and as far as I\'m concerned you have no credibility...but hey at least you went back and confirmed the dates they played this time ;)  I can\'t imagine you have any idea what goes on or what people or into because who would ever want to hang out with you?  So thanks for playing, but I could give a **** about your insight into how things may or may not be.

Yoda...I appologize for this post last week.  Completely uncalled for and a total d-bag comment.  Message boards are designed for differing opinions.  The diversity of thought really adds to this argument.  I live in Sono and have never seen the b\'fast there, obviously I have a different perspective than Yoda or Gencs on this issue.

I\'d still like to see them down here, but even if it never happens, at least the idea is out there now.

And yes...I will be hosting the first after-party when/if it goes down.

No sweat...  I commented mainly because I spent some time in Norwalk and didn\'t think that it was too condusive to TB/Timmie Tour/Kung Fu or the other side projects... Props to you for trying to get them to play somewhere out of the comfort zone... Why do you think I keep trying to get a North Jersey show...

As for this SoNo debate.  If you are looking for beautiful ladies, expensive martinis, or a serious meal, SoNo is great,

trade the expensive martinis for moderately priced Guinness and I\'m sold!  I\'d love to see T-tour around more NE states; but I realize the expenses involved in travelling.  I\'ll keep my eyes peeled for any profitable opportunities in NJ.  (hey if it\'s worth it.... just ignore that initial smell on the interstate;))

Upon reading this thread, two things jump out at me. "That guy is nearly 40 years old". To that one I say lucky motherf\'er. The other one is "older and more mature". I guess someone would have to explain that one to me, just doesn\'t seem like much fun.

the sad thing is there would probably be thrice as many people at a breakfast show in south dakota than south norwalk.

That is the 100% truth because I have seen it with my own eyes.....

Can we really blame a guy for wanting to bring Timmy Tour to his backyard?

You are right AlZ....we cant blame him, but when your backyard is a the cemetary for local music in the state, its just a bad idea.....now Westport (THE BLACK DUCK) or Jimmy\'s Seaside in Stamford...those are 2 places in Fairfield County that I believe Tim could break into.........Norwalk is **** lame. THE END.

Can we really blame a guy for wanting to bring Timmy Tour to his backyard?

Beyond heady tunes & friends, it is an income.  I doubt he was driving to the Westchester repertoire because the venues were amazing.

Tim should take over the whole region....SoNo, UConn.....beyond.

I love the way you guys are trying to get the band to spread their wings all the way to south norwalk, seems like there should be more politickin for south carolina or south dakota.  another preppy CT hangout is not what this band needs.

nick\'s talking about getting timmy there. not the breakfast...

i know but the subject changed a bit w/ duane and yoda\'s input.  timmy tour shows are full of scenesters these days, i\'m over it.

i spend my days now reminiscing of wah/walsh wednesday night wegwiches and after parties above the video rental place.

And for the most-part they were over-priveleged, rich WASPS who could care less about the music and more about if they had the right close on or if their hair was the right highlight of yellow...

Yeah there are people like that EVERYWHERE...even in New Haven!!!!!  I know...shocker!  I live here.  Let me say that again...I LIVE HERE.  Give me a date and enough time to promote.  THere will be a solid turnout with people asking them to come back

I\'m glad that you\'re trying to get a date in your area, but it doesn\'t negate the fact that these rich kids aren\'t going out to hear music, their going to these places because they\'re the popular places to go to...  Why do you think the guys haven\'t played there in more than 9 years?  Because when they did play there, it was the same New Haven people coming, no one new to add to the bus...

C\'mon dude, Tim can outperform many cover bands by himself.  IF the music is good it doesn\'t matter if its one guy or 5 guys.

We all know that Tim is talented... But these kids could easily be the kids on Jersey Shore, do you think that they care if Tim plays a Reba sandwich?  He\'s not going to play the poppy **** on Z100 that they listen too...  If you can get him or the band into a sem-old man bar that the patrons appreciate music, then great, otherwise you might as well hire him to play a private show at your place of residence...

1st - The Breakfast played SoNo three times from 01-02 (8/4/01, 5/17/02, 10/25/02)...  They were a good time, but it was all the same people from New Haven that went to the shows...  Whether the locals enjoyed the music or not, they just stayed at the bar...

2nd - I worked in SoNo for four years during my early 20\'s and those people that were out from Thur-Sat looking for a good time weren\'t looking for good music, they were looking for the happening/trending spot (which usually turned out to be the most expensive spot)...  And for the most-part they were over-priveleged, rich WASPS who could care less about the music and more about if they had the right close on or if their hair was the right highlight of yellow...

3rd - All of those places you mentioned have booked cover "bands"...  We all know that Tim is talented, but these people are coming out to see a cover band, not a one man band...

Flounder, you just dont get it buddy....You think that SoNo is an untapped resource for the members of this band?  Smarten up Flounder....Upwardly mobile yuppies dont give a **** about serious original music unless its boring white folk funk.......

Gencs, things like this kill the band.  Ridiculous stereotypes that have no basis in reality.  Is SoNo more yuppie than New Haven?  Probably, but Thursday through saturday night SoNo is crawling with late 20\'s / early 30\'s people with money to spend that are looking for a good time.  Boring white folks funk?  Really?  I don\'t think i even know what that is, let alone heard it around here.  If you said...shitty 80\'s cover bands, then yes, but that still doesn\'t mean people wouldn\'t be interested in a kick ass band to rage one friday or saturday night...or timmy playing a busy thursday night show.

Maybe they aren\'t going to pick up a bunch of **** fans, tour rats or gypsies, but it could become a well playing and popular gig.  Plus it is much easier to come up from Westchester and NYC to SoNo rather than New Haven or further north.  You gotta give it a chance before you immediately knock it.

Getting back to the blind sterotypes...it drives me crazy.  Do you know how many people refer to the B\'fast as a 3rd tier wanky jamband?  Is that fair?  Does that do them justice?  Saying that is just as ignorant and unfair as calling everyone who lives down here an "upwardly mobile yuppy" (whatever that means).

I love you Gencs and your fandom is unquestioned, but you have to think bigger picture.

If a band member on here wants to come on and address this...or just simply say "I\'m not interested in trying" I\'ll let it die, but until then I will continue to give the issue support.

Thanks for the opinion vets.  SOunds like you guys know plenty about SoNo from that one breakfast show you saw 6 years ago (which actually sounds like it was a good time).

Coming from someone who has spent more than one night here, it seems ridiculous to neglect this major market.

Whether or not you think we\'re snobs, stuck up or **** down here, there is money to be spent on quality entertainment.

Money and people should be incentive enough to play one or two gigs down here.  If it doesn\'t work fine, but at least you can say "we tried it and it sucked" instead of just blindly hating like Yoda does.

plus, think of the raging afterparty that we can all have at NickNels\' baller apartment. and the close proximity to the train station makes for some good public transportation after a night of debauchery. i\'d love to see this happen

Finally this thread is worth something......a timmy date in blackrock is long overdue, no offense to The Field, but i am not a fan of it for solo timmy shows......I would most definitely make it down to an acoustic cafe TPalms affair.....

As for this SoNo debate.  If you are looking for beautiful ladies, expensive martinis, or a serious meal, SoNo is great, but if the music scene is dead in CT, then SoNo is the reason.  There never has nor ever can be a respectable music scene in Norwalk......Im not saying that there arent talented people from there, I am just saying that the area and populous are NOT conducive for a true live music scene to thrive....so give up Flounder.....If you can find a place for tim to play down there, I am sure he would consider it....I have seen Tim play in SoNo...Once.  With OoohOoohOoohWhatyaWannaDoMacher, and it was fun but a DEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWZZZZZIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE......

raise your hand if you would come see timmy on a wednesday @ acoustic cafe, bridgeport?  or even a weekend night?

hand raised

Watching Yoda complain on the Internet is entertainment.

O\'Neills would be cool.  My cousin works there.

Yeah well, my family that lives down there is really disgusted with the show and how it portrays the show... To me, it\'s like a train-wreck that you can\'t look away from...  From my experience, those people on the show could easily be from North Jersey, most parts of of NY except the updaters playing dueling banjos and even East Haven...

Why are they disgusted?  If MTV did a show called Momauguin Beach, I\'d love it.

The thing is that this show is essentially saying that the people down the shore are all like these Staten Island Guidos...  There\'s a reason why most of the people year round can\'t stand the bennies...

its entertainment people.  you think mtv viewers wanna watch yoda complain on the internet, not go to concerts and take care of his family every week?  where\'s the intrigue in that.

i have not read this thread, but all i have to say is that south norwalk pretty much sucks balls.  sorry nick.  but really....no hope for that place.

That makes zero sense.  Why does it suck?  SoNo is awesome.  Confirmed.  Great bars and restaurants (and movie theatre) all within walking distance.  The people there are actually pretty cool too...a lot of young professionals that are ready for a good time after the work day/week is done.  Sure you get some d\'bags, but that\'s everywhere.  A lot less college wooks and hipsters, which is actually a nice chage.  Ridiculous to dismiss all of southern CT, but I know the majority of the people on this board don\'t travel south of milford anyway so everyone talking **** can Eat a D as far as I\'m concerned.

I\'m not going to say that SoNo sucks because it doesn\'t; PB played some pretty fun shows down there.  For better or worse SoNo is a bit yuppie/rich boys, which would eat up a Timmie Solo show and hate a TB show...

Am I actually going to agree w/ Yoda?  More on the yuppie side than say New Haven or Bridgeport.  You are probably right, more conducive for Timmy Tour than the B\'Fast.  That being said, i\'ve seen some AWFUL (cover) bands get great headline gigs on the weekend...and the crowd wasn\'t even into them.  I think one Fri or Sat night at O\'Neils  for the band would actually go over reasonably well.

If it\'s the latter, I\'m down.  (it would be cool it Tim played it as well)

Before you actually consider the show Jersey Shore a representation of NJ, only one person on the show is actually from Jersey, the rest are from Staten Island, Franklin Square NY, Marlboro NY and Johnston RI...

hey, some may consider the valley a major market.  they may not wear shoes or have all their teeth. but they do love their bars.....

second suggestion: in the warmer weather heading towards the RI border...like westerly or any of those RI shore communities.....

or getting a good gig in Providence during Water Fire.  Now thats a gig to score. Providence is packed on those Saturdays June-Oct.

Agreed.

It is apparent that we all are getting old and mature, dare I say. It shows in the attendance at shows. People have grown up and some have moved on.

There was never a continuous flow of new younger fans and thus it brings us to the crossing roads we are at now.

In my 5 years (or so) on Timmy Tour i\'ve never seen a South NOrwalk date.  I am obviously bias at this point living right on Washington St. in the middle of SoNo, but it seems like it would make sense.

5 years ago was when timmy tour stopped going to south norwalk. in summer 2004 smokin\' boomers used to play happy hour at bar on fridays and then 2 more sets later on in south norwalk. that went on until the beginning of \'05, but rarely had the full smokin boomers lineup of tim, ian, sean, and adrian. and breakfast had shows down there up until the end of \'02. but i guess u were in jr high school back then and wouldnt have gotten in when those happened .

i think tim may have lived closer to the rough part of norwalk (i asked him about this when i was looking at places in sono) and i can understand being put off by that part of town. however, other areas of norwalk (south and east) would be great places for him to play.

there are a few bars in stamford and one particular place in greenwich that i would absolutely recommend looking into.

as far as playing in ct goes, i think that he could really benefit from playing outside of new haven county more often.

I wouldn\'t exactly call it a "heady scene," but there is plenty of traffic going through there Wednesday through Saturday and plenty of bars/clubs to play.  Just off the top of my head...O\'Neils, Barcelona, Black Bear, Martini Lounge, The Loft, and Archie Moore\'s all have a stage and live music every week.  Gingerman could also probably work as well with the right set up.  Plus if he starts to do well there are plenty of opportunities to try out new bars (or even start a bidding war for his services)!

I think I talked to Timmy about this before and he seemed a little put off with the South Norwalk scene (i guess he used to live down here?).  It just seems to me with BAR no longer the Wednesday night spot, it might be a good idea to give southern CT a try.  South Norwalk (and Stamford for that matter) might be a good fit.  The market is anything but oversaturated and might embrace a Timmy Tour show or two.  Slightly older crowd (late 20\'s /early 30\'s) so there should also be decent money to be made in tips as well.

Big Markets in Southern half of CT are New Haven, Fairfield/BPT, South Norwalk, Stamford, and Greenwich.  I know ffld hasn\'t exactly worked out, but I think SoNo might be a little bit more appreciative

Just my .02.  Of course I would do anything I could to help make this happen.

Dude you answered your own question (check the bold type)and you think making a thread is gonna change his mind?

Wow.

Oh Leith...just when I thought we had found a middle ground ;)

Yeah, Tim seemed put off on it.  He used to live down here, but that is AT LEAST 5 years ago...and probably longer than that.  Things change...it seems silly to completely rule out a fresh market, especially at this juncture.  I\'m not saying he has to commit to playing down here every Wednesday night, but maybe a show here or there to see if its worth it.  If I was in his situation and I was looking to make more money or grow my name I would be trying out new venues all over CT (but especially in the major markets I pointed out).
