anyone have the "GRUNGE" one???
I had a copy of the second one (somewhere in Massachusetts) at one point. It was the one where Callie from Electric Blue sat in on vocals for Stardog Champion and one other song (Outshined?). Chris Fitz and I were the only two people there, so I assume that Chris is the one that recorded it.

For the Zappa it seems that I only made a DVD-A. I must have thought I burned it.

But No worries. I have the original DAT. I fired up my transfer rig and did a brand new transfer of the Zappa.

I\'ll post an updated source etc

it will be
 Sony A7 > Coax > Tascam HDP2 T-Mod (16/48) > Sandisk CF > Wavelab > CD WAV Editor

Good to know that there is now permission to distribute the Diesel Experiments shows. Any chance we can put these shows on archive.org? I love that ****.

Also, I have a good chunk of footage of the Frank Zappa Diesel Experiment. If someone in the A/V crew could synchronize the video with the audio files that exist and possibly post it on youtube/sendspace that would be great. Would make a nice Christmas present for the B\'fam.

will the older DE shows be archived under Tim palmieri?
what is the video format?

I was going upload a few DE shows. when i installed the drive, it started clicking and could not access the drives data. the error message was "master sector error" on boot up.  the drive has not been spun up in a few years.  it also sucks because it has all of 1999,2000, and 2001 psychedelic breakfast is on it.  pb is on archive, cd audio disks and peck has it on drive, so its not lost. I worry that archive may not be available someday or they loose data(shows) which they have done already. Some of the CD disks are 10 years old, who knows how long they can be read.  I have about 5 other drives that are 5 years old or older.

Somehow I ended up with a recording of the RHCP diesel experiment back in the day.  The second set was Blood Sugar Sex Magic all the way through.  I listened to it constantly for about 2 months and then accidentally sat on it and **** it in half.  Broke my heart.

Maybe some of the sources might start surfacing now that Tim gave the approval to let them out.

i can\'t remember whether junk\'n jams preceded zappavsdead or vice versa. i had a blast doing these shows but it was tough with the energy i put into them, the crowd we drew, and the money we made. trust me i have list of experiments i want to do and will do in the future. the breakfast covering cartoon themes was one of them. beatles a-z was one as well. so i still vent my creative ideas just hasn\'t been through the diesel label. i will revive the DE in 2010.

thanks to all who supported DE, came to the shows, and now send me warm thoughts in remembrance. they were fun.
if you guys want the tapes go for it. i was self conscious that the music wasn\'t the tightest due to the lack of practice before the shows but............. wtf. enjoy.

Cartoonage was a Diesel idea?

Diesel Experiments were a lot of fun, but I would imagine that they didn\'t really pay the bills or win over that many new Breakfast fans. On average, Tim can probably make a little more scratch playing Sir Duke and Wonderwall at BAR every Wednesday in front of a decent-sized crowd than by playing "In the Court of the Crimson King" in front of 14 dotINFOers at the Puppethouse.

I agree that it probably didn\'t pay the bills... I kind of compare the DE\'s to the GTB in that they did it for fun and made a few extra bucks.  Corner Pocket is totally a venue that seems that it could support something similar.  They continually brought in the GTB and had Chris & Tim in for the Jethro Tull Project.  I\'m not sayin the DE\'s need to be resurected, although it would be nice for a project similar to emerge every once in awhile.  I was unable to make the Tull show and was very disappointed in myself for it, but I definitely love the randomness of gigs like that which, to me is what the DE\'s represented.

I know that I had an OK quality recording of one of the grunge experiments, but at this point it probably only exists on a hard drive that Chris Fitz hasn\'t used in years.

Close the yearbooks, kiddies. Its time to move forward. Tomorrow is a better day.

I know, I know... I was just being nostalgic. Of course I appreciate all of the present projects that are around and look forward to anything that any of these guys produce.  Its easy for your mind to wander on a 45 minute drive on the way to work.  Honestly, all I\'m looking forward is to the hour long drive home to get to the playwright tonight!

Does anyone have any recollection of the order of all the DE shows or even better are there any recording floating around out there?
Recordings that exist which I know of the top of my head are:

Diesel Experiments: Frank Zappa
Diesel Experiments: Lennon vs McCartney - (the solo years)
Diesel Experiments: Fusion

Over the last decade there has been several high water marks, Puppet House shows, Richter Wednesday nights, Porters, and Callahan\'s Diesel Experiments to name a few.

I don\'t think you can recreate that magic.

IMHO, our best course of action as fans is to support these band members in their creative persuits so that we\'ll be there when the lightening strikes again.

I was on my way to work this morning and as usual my mind floats off into a million things as I try to make the 45 minute drive pass by with some purpose.  I started to remember back to the days of the Diesel Experiments... man, I miss those. I spent many good nights at Callahans enjoying those shows.  It seems as though what started off as an experimental concept has shifted into a couple of solid side projects over the years though which is great... the Good Time Boys, Beatles A-Z.  Does anyone have any recollection of the order of all the DE shows or even better are there any recording floating around out there?  ****... how great would it be if that project ever resurfaced?  One can dream...
