Post by: simpletwistupdon on October 13, 2009, 01:47:29 pm
Can someone with administrative authority post up on the setlists thread, just so things can get archived and stay current? I\'d do it if I could so I didn\'t have to pester anyone...

10/9/09
Set: jam > Tunage, See the Light* > Reel Time, Metropolis
*inverted & unfinished

I saw a clip that Marc Sincavage posted on Facebook.  The lighting is indeed awful, Ken.  But it\'s good that you captured it in between Harpoon IPAs.

Gencs, I don\'t think that Springsteen is Jewish....Whineberg.

Springsteen is Dutch for Stepping Stone... Bruce\'s father was Dutch and Irish and his mother was Italian...

Got the whole night on video.
Came out good, if you don\'t mind disco flashing lights for 4 hrs.
Got some special footage of ChrisLikesBass doing some weird drunk things.
Will be up on youtube soon!

Any chance I can get a copy of this... Would love to see TB\'s set as well as the Bruce portion...  If not, I understand...

What are the odds of a vegetarian winning a meat raffle. me veg. head.
I wish oh I so wish someone could remember what happened friday after that dude touched my meat.
I wish that ken taped the **** slap and then the meat spacey slap

What a crazy night. Im a hot mess all around. Spacey you\'re the man.  dude deserved that that steak upside his head.  Oh yeah Donny the first song of Lesiw\'s set was the Freddie Hubbard tune "Povo" not "Come together" , just so you know. The bass line does sound similar however.
casino kid here reporting from the meat house:
I can\'t remember how the meat fight started, but only can remember I told some guy not to touch the meat,  then Spacey went all staven on some dude, 8 cops came running and me and Spacey walked away like a scene out of Oceans 11
thanks to Chris for walking with us, you stavener for the day
afraid to mention specifics, maybe we\'ll c some of you later so you can refresh my cloudy meat memory
Adrian , enjoy the schteaks kid

This post makes me both laugh and hungry at the same time.  It\'s a new emotion for me.  Laughing Hunger....  MMMMMMmmmmm laughing hunger.

Chris, can you fill in the blanks of the other 2 songs?

Donny the first song was "Invitation" and the last song was "Mr. Clean" with Tim on guitar. I\'m pretty sure thats correct because that was before the madness ensued

Now if she just could\'ve mentioned the name..ah well, still lots of good footage. Good piece, good vibe, hopefully means lots of good energy for the Breakfast. New Haven is blessed. Looks like a cool venue. How was the sound in there?

A lot of b-roll footage of the Breakfast, but no mention by name, and no audio save for "See the Light" in the background during a brief interview. Good pub is good pub, I suppose.

We had an official truly drunkin, crazy time!
Music was great! Harpoon IPA just right!
Lost count...I was about ready to fall off my stool,
so I figured it was time to have one more!
Had some police action on the street.
Left when Spacey was yelling at some big muscle dude.
Didn\'t seem to smart Spacey!

who wins it... well that is easy: vegetarians.

who ends up with said raw meat?  some douche on the street taking it off his face.

I am pretty sure he slapped some dude in the face with raw meat!

The real question is, where did the raw meat come from?

Did you not get there in time for the big raw meat raffle?  No... seriously.

Let us not forget to add Todd and Mark Peters both tossed out at separate points in the evening....

and Dave too... what the hell happened last night?  B-fam goes clubbin\'... at least none of us ended up in the lock-up, seemed destined to happen last night!  I would like to thank Ivy Lounge for letting us use the upstairs deck for setbreak festivities, and the Playwright for the posters, Guinness 250 remarkable years glasses, and letting me back in the door to find Daves\' hat and Marks\' wife.  Well... someone had to kick off the East Rock - West Rock music week!

I: Tunage, See the Light, Reel Time, Metropolis.

~50 minute B\'fast set from 7-8pm. I can\'t remember if there were segues or not. My highlight of the set was Metropolis.
Lesiw + B\'fast from 8-9pm was just ridiculous, in a great way.
Williams, Skappo, Palmieri, Animal + friends from 9-?? played mainstream crowd favorites. Some highlights of their set was a block of MJ songs followed by a block of Bruce Springsteen songs.
Other highlights of the night:
Robin noting that she hadn\'t heard Reel Time in forever, which resulted in someone reminding her that it was last played at the last B\'fast show at Daniel St.
Spacey getting into an argument > brawl in the middle of Temple St, which resulted in a mob of cops coming over and telling/shoving people to go home. Fun night.

Edits...
Breakfast Set - jam > Tunage, See the Light* > Reel Time, Metropolis
*inverted & unfinished

George Lesiw Band Set - Povo, Hotten Tot, Invitation, Cissy Strut^, Mr Clean^
^w/ Tim on guitar

Skappo
Set I - Fortunate Son, Where the Streets Have No Nmaes, Mysterious Ways, My Life, You May Be Right > jam$, Soul Refreshing, The March (?), When the Saints Go Marching, ?(Robert Randolph/Blind Boys tune), Higher Ground, I Wish

Set II - Hotel California, Take It Easy... then I stopped keeping track, there was a bunch of MJ tunes in there and some other stuff...
$Joey Williams on guitar for remainder of the show

Nice to have another Friday night event to look forward to.  I\'m gonna guess this event is gonna take place in the back room where it usually dance party central on any other given night?  If I remember correctly (its been years since I\'ve been there) there really isnt any other place to set up any sort of stage or space for a band to fit.
