Our bodies are mortal; our souls are not.
I don\'t really see what the big deal is with dying. Snakes don\'t go around fearing the day they lose their skin.
The problem with that statement is that snakes dont die when they shed their skin......they know (presumably) that they will continue to exist even though their skin is shed.......nobody really knows what happens after we die.....(other than we get to hear all the unrecorded breakfast shows - which is good enough for me)

As much as I dislike the Beastie Boys...
cancer sucks, and i hate it more than words can express (that or I am not smart enough to find the words to express my distain).
Anyway, I hope he gets well.

This is really disappointing. There was a surprise show to played at a small club next Thursday that\'s not happening now. ****. Get well MCA.
Was that small club supposed to be toads?

Seems like everyday there is headline news of someone being diagnosed with cancer. Disconcerting to the point where I feel like it is only a matter of time until I\'m told my days are numbered.
Your days were numbered the day you were born........all of ours are.............
Life is a terminal disease.....
So enjoy it while you can.......
knew we could count on you to put things into perspective.

As a man it is only a matter of time before you get prostate cancer. for the most part
it isn\'t really a matter of IF but WHEN.
If I remember correctly, everyone has cancer cells but the question is whether or not they reproduce and exceed a specified threshold to be considered a threat.

cake: "as soon as you\'re born you start dying, so you might as well have a good time."

And in the words of Mr. Bob Dylan, "we aint busy bein\' born, we\'re busy dyin\'"

BEASTIE BOYS TOUR DATES CANCELED, ALBUM RELEASE POSTPONED
ADAM YAUCH DIAGNOSED WITH PAROTID GLAND TUMOR
Adam "MCA" Yauch of Beastie Boys was diagnosed last week as having a cancerous tumor in his left parotid (salivary) gland. Luckily it was caught early and is localized in one area, and as such is considered very treatable. It will however require surgery and several weeks of additional treatment. Fortunately the cancer is not in a location that will affect Yauch\'s vocal chords.
Beastie Boys have canceled all upcoming concert appearances to allow time for Yauch\'s surgery and recovery. The release of the band\'s forthcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 will also be pushed back.
Paraphrasing from a video statement on Beastieboys.com [below], Yauch said, "I just need to take a little time to get this in check, and then we\'ll release the record and play some shows. It\'s a pain in the neck (sorry had to say it) because i was really looking forward to playing these shows, but the doctors have made it clear that this is not the kind of thing that can be put aside to deal with later."
