i just used to get the whistle i could hear from a mile away or my ass chewed out if i didnt hear it.
but this is the digital age and no matter how old fashioned you my think you are not..... you really are. get with the times Alz, you\'ve been spending to much time in the left coast sun

Sorry chip, definitely creating needs and entitlements that should not exist that early in life.
Well it depends... like for my cousin, his dad (my uncle) is really sick. And he has three other siblings under 7 years old (yeah thats crazy, i know, a 6, 3, and 2 year old). So god forbid there is an emergency and he needs to call 9-1-1, his mom, or me...he can.
He\'s a mature 8 year old. I think its up to the parent to decide if its for fun and goofing around, or if its for emergencies.

Sure when it only calls Dad, Mom and Grandma.
Yeah, my 8 year old cousin has a cell phone, but its only programmed to call his mom, his dad, and me. I think you can get the phones like that where they can only call three numbers or you can child lock the phone somehow.
