I have a number of people at work that now semi-regularly use "Soary Chip!"

Figures working with you there\'s gonna be a few of those tossed out each day.

patient: "i know i ran out of my xanax 2 weeks early, but i REALLY need it"

elisa: "sooary chip!"

I just figured "420" was engrained in the culure for many under 40.  It has been in widespread use for a long time and was never limited to the jamband subculture.  I probably first became aware of it in early middle school if I had to guess.

Speaking of .info speak, do any of you use our local dialect on co-workers?

Person: "did you check the report?"

Me:   "Yeah, it\'s a doozefest"

I used it on the head of the office yesterday.  He was looking to delegate a task to his secretary who had just left for the day.

Boss: "Kim?"

Me: "Soary Chip"

I explained the significance to some co-workers a while back so my comment elicited chuckles from people around me.

Absolutely. It has proven to be increasingly difficult to separate the two since it is so ingrained.

My parents know that when they really need to get through to me they use the lingo. It is awkward at first but you get use to it.

Is a doozefest a serious bass jam that rumbles your insides?

A girl in my office was sending out invitations for a meeting to occur between 4 - 4:30pm.

"Brownies and cookies will be served".

So I ask if they will be 420 brownies, given the time of the day.

The girl, who was a party girl and went to college and should know better, asks why we would need so many brownies for a group of 30.

Frickin\' noobs

Some people go to college to learn?

Not people who go to umass dartmouth...
