my boyfriend told me tonight that 90.7 out here in LA played the Breakfast\'s 1/31/09 Sully\'s show on the radio. pretty cool!
Yeah there is a DJ Barry Smolin I believe on KPFK that really loves the guys and used to introduce them when they would play out here.
Nice to hear he still has that love.

What medicine?
I\'m cool w/ the band not touring anymore. Even if they did come out here it would probably be just a waste of money but a nice vacation for them.
sarcastically serious to stir the pot

LOL Wolf, way to cook scramby eggs for Breakfast
I never know which is funnier; me being sarcastic or leith taking my blatantly sarcastic posts seriously. I haven\'t seen leith\'s posts in years but I\'ll bet a ticket to a Breakfast show he took me seriously.
can\'t take his own medicine.... you want some koolaid leith? how about a tissue..... booo the Breakfast won\'t come back to NJ... i mean CA...... whhaaaaaa

Seth posted an obviously sarcastic post to most.
What people in general do not know is that Seth actually does feel exactly as he posted.
He just does not want to be seen as the selfish prick he actually is and took his chance to post his real feelings couched in supposed sarcasm.
He\'s actually right though. This band should just concentrate on the region if they actually want to make a living at this.
There is no real fanbase other than the NE region outside of sporadic patches around the country.
No one is coming out to see a band that only comes around every couple years.
Personally I\'m just here now to talk **** and to check out if any recordings surface from the few gigs they have.

Keeping it local might be a good thing. Even if Phish came to NYC and I wanted to go, it\'d still cost a couple hundred bucks at least. So take a few hour flight and stay with a .info-er, catch a two night run, then it\'d be worth it to make the trek.
I usually stay w/ friends when out for shows but still the cost and hassle of flying is no longer offset by the joy the shows bring to me.
It goes deeper than that but whatever.
I\'m starting the petition against West Coast shows. Keep the Breakfast in the northeast where they belong and where 95% of the fanbase is. No need to shlep 3,000 miles to play for the same number of people you would play for here. California sucks. Oregon sucks. Washington sucks. Arizona sucks. In fact, the entire pacific timezone could sink into the ocean and I don\'t think anyone would notice. The Breakfast belongs on the west coast like the Pope belongs in AA, or like mayonnaise belongs on pizza. Enjoy the recordings you slow-talking aimlessly-drifting patchwork-wearing SCI-loving west coast hippie ****.
Well you\'ve gotten your wish is all I can say.
You have admitted in the past you would not mind if the band became just regional.
**** You Seth.

See Al It\'s **** like this that just gets me depressed and cynical to threads like this.
Keyboardist Steve Molitz (Particle) and guitarist Chris Michetti (RAQ) will sit in with the Underground Orchestra at this month\'s Joshua Tree Music Festival.
Why the **** is that not Tim instead?
:sigh:

As long as The Breakfast keeps playing the sickest shows ever, I\'m sticking to plan A.
**** yea brah
-
play the campsite at the Gorge ! ;)
i\'m coming back just for phish/breakfast.
:banboogy:

So I guess we stick to the plan of getting a lot of people out to shows, getting the band more attention and better venues, and better pay so it\'s worth it for them to keep playing well into old age and tour nationally on a regular basis.

They know what they are missing by not touring.
I am positive they understand their band is on it\'s last legs as a viable way to make a living.
There is no longer any need to try and convince these guys to tour.
They have made their choice to be a regional bar band.
I am resigned to the fact that unless I spend the money I will never see this band again.
I don\'t even bring this band up in conversations anymore.
Yeah it sucks but facing the reality of it is a lot better than :banghead: over it any more.
Even if they did get out here they probably would be a lower priority for me than in the past.
.
Yeah it\'s like that now.
Wow, my thoughts have never been put into words so clearly and unfortunately it hurts to admit it. Love the music, especially with Jordan now back, but I just can\'t get excited about it anymore knowing that the closest they will play is over 8 hours away.
-
Good Luck with the petition.
Part of the reason I started the petition was to encourage the scrawny loudmouth with large internet balls to post about how cool CA is & the need for Bfast to return.

I\'d see the S.D. show and maybe L.A. but traveling for them anymore is not likely unless they show a renewed effort to keep touring nationally.
Yeah it\'s like that now.

I don\'t know much about those other guys you mentioned but I\'d way rather see The Breakfast Proper over Tim/Adrian and some other dudes who aren\'t Dangle and Sequoia..
I would prefer a proper Breakfast tour first and foremost, Sequoia is better than ever and I love the Dangles. I\'d gladly take Tim, Adrian + friends as a consolation if a "Breakwest" is not an option.
:sigh:
It\'s funny because I was going to post at the bottom of the thread: "patiently awaiting Leith\'s "

Jordan has been bringing the heat since he came back. Been a while since I\'ve seen you Estah, are you coming back to Mass just for the Phish show or are you coming back for good? Also do you know what\'s up with Up North fest this year?
good luck with that guys. I hope you get some bfast out there. they really do sound awesome these days. I think if a midwest run in the van is viable a flyby cali run is not out of the question.
i\'m coming back just for phish/breakfast. not sure about the Up North fest, i\'m sure i will run into the guy who made it happen last year when i go back to boston. i can ask him then. the midwest run sounds pretty promising. i sure hope the band will be able to come back out to California. that last Winston\'s show in San Diego was **** amazing with Matt. I\'m sure it will be more unbelievable with Jordan if it happens.

-A California mini-run: the band flew out last April when airfare was much higher and played a nice little run out here. Plan it right (good venues, good nights and maybe some support from other renowned acts to make it all worth while) Dual purposes: CA vacation for the band and some good shows in 1 shot. 1.If Jordo can\'t go, throw in Molitz on keys and publicize the gigs properly. Maybe get on 1 festival bill and use that as a basis for mini-adventure. The guys have contacts out here and the possibilities are surely there. There are so many damned festivals out here and it pains me to not see the Psyche B represented.
2.A Tim and/or Adrian tour with high-profile guests: Molitz, Waldman, Josh Clark of Tea Leaf among many others in the network may even be more logistically practical than trucking the whole band out for a run. Having a cast of well-known west coast players by default attracts more attention and attendance. Molitz and Waldman are connected to Phil & Friends players, Robby Krieger...the list goes on.
-3.Tim and Adrian with Willie Waldman or Banyan: \'nuff said, they just have to appear as the gigs are pre-arranged for them.
-4.Particle featuring Tim Palmieri.
1.If Molitz is on keys for a Breakfast show I will lead the jeers as that Long Haired Steve Carell lookalike will be lost as a Bisco kid on Dead lot.
2.Meh wouldn\'t be a real representation of what The Breakfast bring.
3.The gigs they have got have not received all that much attention other than here really.
4.Mentioned this to Tim earlier this year.
Good Luck with the petition.
Would be nice to see the band w/o having to spend hundreds of dollars for 1 or 2 shows.
:sigh:

I just read today in the LA Weekly that Willie Waldman Project is playing at the Mint on May 21st...FEATURING ROBBY KRIEGER FROM THE DOORS. it would be pretty snazzy if Tim/Adrian/Tim + Adrian could get in on that. Al is right- airfare is cheap right now. the connections w/ waldman and molitz are there...use them!
But yeah it is unfortunate for Breakfast fans outside of the Northeast lately.
FOR REALZ. i just listened to the Some Kind of Jam show, Jordan sounds AWESOME on Tunage. good to hear organs back in the mix. i am thoroughly excited to see the band at Harper\'s in my old shitty hood of Allston.

I\'m aware of the current touring focus and any restraints that would prevent a full-on national tour - I still believe, with a little creativity, there could be some middle ground for the west coast fans & opportunities for members of the band. I just finished reminiscing about the October tour online with Estah and realized there were many economically-feasible options for west coast appearances, especially with airline fares that are drastically lower than last year.
Let\'s get started with some possibilities:
-A California mini-run: the band flew out last April when airfare was much higher and played a nice little run out here. Plan it right (good venues, good nights and maybe some support from other renowned acts to make it all worth while) Dual purposes: CA vacation for the band and some good shows in 1 shot. Just getting started here.
