Amherst was listed as the top college town in North America by a msn.com article today.
Good excuse to find a gig there again in the future.

Looks like BDFreeTunage has done a good job cultivating the fan in you.
Pizza: Back in 2000-2001, when you were a junior burrito trying to graduate from the kids\' menu, PB played Noho all the time, often alternating between IHEG and free shows in the intimate Fire + Water space. Throw in the UMass ragers and those were the days.
Hilarious Al. I wasn\'t gonna mention the PB glory days of western mass...for one it sucks for pizzaburrito to hear about something he couldn\'t be there for. For another, it\'s not really believable even thought it\'s true. It\'s gotta be hard to fathom that 7-9 years ago, Psychedelic Breakfast played free shows at Fire N Water, Butterfield dorm, and UMass houseparties, sold out the Iron Horse the first time they ever headlined it and had 50-100 people stranded outside who never got in, graduated to Pearl Street after 1 Iron horse show, and after EVERY Noho/Amherst show (which was 4 times a year) there would be a rager with 3-5 kegs of headdy beer and 300 headdy people all raging until daylight. Who the **** would believe that?
Come on man, stop living in the past :duck: ...

they need to play electric company this summer, period
Yes sir.

With Timmy Tour dashing off to Westchester County on occasion, there\'s no reason why he couldn\'t do Pioneer Valley if the money is right. Make some suggestions that will get him in front of some new and appreciative faces.
I\'m a Breakfast fan first and foremost. Tim will be welcomed up here though, but that\'s on his own initiative.
Us old timers can still throw down with the best of them. I bet you could show those whippersnappers a thing or 3
Showing whippersnappers things or 3 grows tiresome. But no doubt, I have "throwing down" to both a perfected science and an art at this point in my life.
What needs to happen are more BREAKFAST shows, whether they\'re in NoHo, Brahlington, Upstate (Java Barn/Electric Co./Red Square etc.) The Skankorage in Sunapee, NH or even *gasp* New Jersey. Play more fuckin colleges (why haven\'t they been back to UMASS) , and also try and book some more post phish after parties. my $0.02
Yes.

(why haven\'t they been back to UMASS)
They haven\'t been back to UMass for two key reasons:
-Butterfield is now a boring freshman dorm because it got raged too hard
-the old fanbase from 1998-2003 graduated and there is no one individual there to drum up major support for shows at Quadfest, Extravanganja, etc.
-
Honestly, there are already PLENTY of Timmy Tour shows, even if the majority of them take place in New Haven. What needs to happen are more BREAKFAST shows, whether they\'re in NoHo, Brahlington, Upstate (Java Barn/Electric Co./Red Square etc.) The Skankorage in Sunapee, NH or even *gasp* New Jersey. Dude I was at school upstate during TRB glory days... Utica, Binghampton, Ithaca, Geneva, Rochester, Syracuse... yep I was there and you kids probably spilled beers on me more than once hahaha... and I would never try to out-rage you guys in my old age
Don\'t give up so easily.

the glory days of TRB were 4 years ago. if someone is gonna carry on the torch and (try to) rage as hard as we used to more power to ya ;)
-
Oh noooo doubt Tim should be playing solo acoustic here every other week. The shows would be well-attended right off the bat.
PB may have sold out IH in \'01 but it was a fairly short lived peak for the band... and well things were just kind of different around here then. Hippie hill = the hilltowns and suburbs in the surrounding area. Most Northampton scenesters couldn\'t give a crap about proper music.
But yes the Wild Pack is alive and well in our little neck of the woods :)
-
If there aren\'t enough venues for more PB shows in the area, could we find a couple Timmy Tour spots as a consolation? Between Noho and Amherst, there has to be a couple places where he could plant his roots on a regular basis that offer more than a tip truck and a chance to wow some new fans into the Breakfast circle.
Hahaha...
Seriously though Noho Breakfast scene is as good if not about to be clearly better than ever.
PB sold out the IHAG in 2001 so I would argue otherwise, though you do have a point that things may be swinging back to the old times if the fanbase is cultivated in NOHO and Amherst. The fans are there for the taking, just a matter of who is gonna venture out to hippie hill and round up the kids.
-
Hahaha...
Seriously though Noho Breakfast scene is as good if not about to be clearly better than ever. I truly wish Fire & Water was still open but that aint no place for The Breakfast to be playing in 2009!
Those were the days though (well I never heard them until probably 02 but there was a decent amount of buzz @ UMass then). I wish some of the kids I went to highschool with and went to PB shows with still were involved.
But alas, they are not, and a ton of young kids are coming out of the woods to check this **** out in the year 2009!

the last three shows there were all within a 6 month period. I really doubt they are gonna play there wayyy wayyy more than that but keeping up that pace would be a good thing if the fan base is as rabid as you claim

Seriously. Did you not see and feel what went down on 4-10?? DAMN was that an epic time.
It is necessary that you start playing more in town. A fan base is growing fast, people are in love more than ever, and I feel like Breakfast is on the top of their game. Oh the energy, those tasty crescendos, the dreamworld trance i got lost in the entire show, reaching newer more intense heights everytime.... and for the first time ever i got down and funky in front row.
Not to mention, It is seriously a pleasure to chill with Bfam, especially in the comfort of our home and a five min walk from the venues.
COME BACK ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 you bfast
