Brasky drank a full glass of liquid LSD with his eggs. Then he slept for eight months straight. When he woke up, he rubbed his eyes and said, "All in all, I prefer gin!"

The best LSD always put me to sleep for at least 6 months... that must have been some damn good ****.

Grateful Dead opening for The Doors - 1967

Springsteen opening for:
- Bonnie Rait
- Cheech & Chong
- Chicago
- Sha Na Na
- Three Dog Night
- Bon Jovi
Bill Brasky named the band Sha Na Na. They did not want to be called that.

LOL

When Radiohead headlined saturday night of roo!

100,000 drunk, high, and a spun out hippies ready to party hearty and enjoy some good time peak-festy rockin tunes and were instead treated to two hours of queer ass depressing un-danceable down tempo bullshit.  90% of the people there A)left B)sat or stood there motionless with their feet and asses cemented to the ground C) completely ignored the music D) had a bad trip, or some combination of the above ahhaaha. whata disaster.

I also remember one year at all good where the whole night of music was sick except for this one act on the main stage right in the middle of it all that was just some idiotic Chinese **** dressed up like a total fool singing completely off key in a horrible whiny voice playing a **** accordion.  The entire crowd was booing and moaning and heckling her without mercy for her entire set and the **** deserved every bit of it.

pearl jam and nirvana opening for red hot chili peppers, nye 93

the who opening for the dead (77-ish)

phish opening for willie nelson (farm aid)

Umm...I don\'t get it.  The first two sound totally kickass and the 3rd one is at least understandable.

Anyhow, it just occurred to me that the most bizarre lineups in music are definitely at college spring concerts.  I wish I could remember all the ridiculous band combos they had at UMass while I was there.  Al, can you help?  I think our freshman year was something like Strangefolk > Naughty By Nature > Smashmouth.  Wow.

nothing hilarious, they were just unique and stuck out in my head as crazy /funny sounding.

2000: Redman/Method Man, Long Beach Dub Allstars, Beanie Man, Biz Markie
2001: Lil\' Kim, Uncle Kracker, Dropkick Murphy\'s
2002: Ludacris, The Roots, Guster
2003: 50 Cent, Reel Big fish, Rahzel

There were some smaller bands thrown into the mix like a DMB cover band, Percy hill or Strangefolk as well as some side stage fillers but I can\'t remember which ones specifically.

sadly enough i\'d probably enjoy all those.

the all-time winner for this, of course, was the tour where Hendrix opened for The Monkeys.

"Foxy Davey!!"

But i was in attendance for:

Rahzel at the vibes or was it the summit ?

Cannot remember exactly but that was a very uncomfortable set.

When he started in on the "**** galore" refrain the groans from the audience were audible.

Another thread about what festivals The Breakfast should play got me thinking:

What are the worst, funniest, most awkward, or most ironic band/fest mismatches you can think of?

Or you can go with

Worst, funniest, most awkward, or most ironic opener/headliner combo.

Here we go...

Band/fest
Eminem at Lilith Fair
Raffi at Ozzfest
Dave Matthews Band at a Phish fest
N*Sync at Bonnaroo (had to come up with one for Bonnaroo)

Opener/Headliner
Chris Brown opening for Ani Difranco
William Hung opening for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, or Project Object
Medeski Martin and Wood opening for The Roots, opening for 311.  (Oh wait, they really made a whole tour out of this in 2004, never mind!)
Indigo Girls opening for GWAR  (Assuming the crowd is mostly GWAR fans since they\'re the headliner, this would actually work great if GWAR came out and ate the Indigo Girls in the middle of their set.  GWAR fans would unanimously embrace it as the greatest moment in the band\'s history.)

Have at it!
