i, for one, can\'t wait to see you guys again, ms. tickler!! its been too long!!

also, i said it before and i\'ll say it again, the guys should play as long as possible, to makes sure any merriweather stragglers get to hear some bfast, too! as of right now i\'m seriously contemplating trying to make it back post-phish. but it wouldn\'t be until 1am or 2am at the earliest.

man, maybe i should take that monday off...

This is seriously one of the greatest festivals I\'ve been to.  And, two nights of the Breakfast with no time limits?!  If you can\'t make it, don\'t come on this site whinin\' about what you missed later.  But, if you want to be at these shows, you\'ll find a way to make it happen! /rant

Just saw this on the barefoot website...
Quote
We are really asking people to car pool to Camp Barefoot. If anybody shows up with 3 or more people in the car you park for FREE, if not its $5 per car to park the whole weekend.

And tix are $75/$100 (2day/3day) advance and $100/$120 at the gate so order early and save some loot!

Post by: jking on July 21, 2009, 01:42:47 pm
actually gabo, the first day listed is the last day of the fest. and its a great idea for them to play as late as possible then, just to still be up there when any stragglers from merriweather roll in.... assuming normal traffic and drive time, if merriweather ends exactly at 11pm, no one\'s getting to the cove until 2am anyway...

I\'m getting pumped for this, Brittany is too. As long as we can get her mom to watch our dogs 2 weekends in a row we are all set. This festival site looks awesome and would be the perfect place to bring back Love Lake. Since I\'m on lunch break...

Friday
jam > Tribal Funk Affliction, Beef Barley, Love Lake, Frankly Po Zest > Metropolis, Spunk > Mooboo\'s Voodoo (Episode 2)

Saturday
jam > Puppetry, What The Funk > Rush, The Grand Scheme of Things > In Memory of Elizabeth Reed > drum solo > The Grand Scheme of Things, Drunk Monk Bar, Buquebus

Yep it is always a real good time. I haven\'t seen the breakfast in awhile and have lost track. I wish they would come down south more often. I will be at Camp Barefoot again since it has always been a blast. My kind of festival these days. Small and intimate. I can\'t do those big festivals anymore. So I am doing the volunteer thing to cut down on the cost. I hope to see you there.

Breakfast always brings the heat at Camp Barefoot. Camp Barefoot 2 was off the hook. After The Breakfast set Tim came out and played with Garaj Mahal and put Fareed in his place. I have a feeling Tim will probably play with Perpetual Groove and possibly Lotus in my opinion. From what I hear they call Tim the MVP of Camp Barefoot, hopefully a bunch of sit ins.....

50/50 booze.

The band seems to be in a bit of a rut musically right now.

They have definitely cooled off since Jordan\'s scorching return.

Last few shows I have seen/heard were kinda wanky/boring imo.

Lack of shows/practice/repertoire/new songs/etc. is starting to show.

I am not going to Virginina unless I know it is gonna be the heat.

The breakfast is playing 2 nights....why do people keep saying they are not? Look on their myspace and all other websites. They are playing friday right before perpetual groove and then saturday are playing the latenight after lotus to close the festival out. I heard depending on how the production staff is feeling they may let them play till 4am, like a 2.5 to 3 hr set....**** YEAH!!! The breakfast has attended every camp barefoot so why not show their support! See you there......

Met up with some of the production staff last night of Camp Barefoot and got some scoop for the event. I heard friday night it will be in this order: The Breakfast, Perpetual Groove (2 sets), U-Melt (late night slot), Lotus (super late night slot)

I will be exhausted by the end of that rotation. And I did get total confirmation that breakfast is closing out the event after Lotus on Saturday night....

just make sure you pre-order!! otherwise $75 becomes $125.

i\'m still trying to figure out how to make this happen... i really wish they had one day tix available. driving 2+ hours away for phish means missing all the decent bands on saturday and probably not driving the 2+ hours back from merriweather.... $75 for friday evening/night is a bit much.... well, where there\'s a will, there\'s a way!

Post by: jking on May 01, 2009, 05:09:26 pm
yeah, when there was talk of shuttles, i though the cars would be parked up next to that entrance cabin place near the lake, making running to and from the car a pain. if they\'re closer, then it makes the whole thing a lot less of a hassle. as my buddy said, \'it ain\'t marvins mountaintop or anything, things are actually close at the cove!\'

i heard that the car parking is over where todd, mandler and robyn camped the first year, so its not as far away as i thought it\'d be. that makes going for a couple days, leaving for phish and coming back much less of a hassle. so, that\'s cool...

:inky: If that\'s true, it\'s not fair!  I wanted that spot for camping, not full of cars! :(

ah well, I guess having two big stages definitely makes up for that ;)

for fliers and posters email scott@hey-bro.com and he will get them to you.

"my only other question is whether, with phish in the area that saturday night, the crowd will actually be big enough to necessitate the no car camping deal?? i hope so, for the promoters\' sake. "

Why wouldnt there be a big enough crowd for saturday night because of phish, the concert is sold out and there are tons of people in MD, DC, VA, PA, WV, NY, CT that dont have phish tickets and will be spending there time at Camp Barefoot, specially all 3 days. I know many people who will be going to CB3 for thursday and friday and half a day saturday and then heading to phish saturday afternoon.

We dont need those phish fans anyways as there is plenty of local support as well as die hard music fans of the bands on the bill to keep the festival a great vibe and turnout.

And like meantioned before the advance ticket price includes everything together camping and the event. The promoter has really put the cove on the hot seat and the campground is working with Scott the producer of the event. Of course if you buy a ticket the day of the event the total price will be split between 2 gates but will still add up to the advertised total price. no hidden fees!!!!!

so who is going that isnt going to phish?

If it was just the drive I\'d definitely go. Even after swearing never to drive that far south ever again after All Good \'05 ;)

Unfortunately I have to play my time-off-from-work cards wisely this summer... and between Phish shows, GOTV, UpNorth(?)... I can only really do weekend or nearby fests like Wormtown stuff and maybe a day or two of Camp Bisco.

Anything that requires extra days just to drive = no can do. Unless Phish has a festival in the fall, then = can do or I quit .

Quote from: barefootin;228361
Also I noticed if you buy tickets in advance the camping is included in the ticket price this year.,.NICE
that\'s always been my single biggest complaint about the cove. it makes almost every fest they have there unrealistically expensive. its one thing to show up expecting to pay $120 for two days of music, but then to have another $30 for camping makes it not worth it. and like i said, this isn\'t just a camp barefoot problem. there have been a bunch of things were it was relatively cheap for a bunch of local no-name bands, then to get there and have them want to charge me a camping fee whether i was actually gonna camp or not, just really puts a sour taste in my mouth. even this year\'s vip tix don\'t lessen the camping cost, just add it in. as much as i love it there, they really need to find a way to work with the promoters to lessen the impact of that extra fee.

ok, i\'ll get off my soap box now.

my only other question is whether, with phish in the area that saturday night, the crowd will actually be big enough to necessitate the no car camping deal?? i hope so, for the promoters\' sake.

ok, i guess i have one more question. where can i print off fliers? i\'ll start passing them out at whatever shows around here i go to....
