Disappointed there has been no new bonus stuff, but the album is till a regular in the car CD player - I envy you guys getting an acoustic show - should be good.
BTW , what did everyone think of what must be an April Fool joke - the email those on the mailinglist got:

They are taking a break from touring. In the future I think we all hope they will continue to tour.
A new album probably won\'t be seen anytime soon. Maybe around the same time they decide to tour again.
The key word there was promotion. If they decide to tour again, it needs to be promoted. If they decide to make a new album, it needs to be promoted.
:deadhorse:
I won\'t say anymore, this is def the wrong thread.

I\'ve had this on my ipod since the day it came out and I think it is a good album. 1348 is an awesome song. I think it\'s cool that they worked out all these songs in the studio before "testing" them out on the road first.
That being said, now they are playing these songs live, and I have been hearing versions of them on sirius radio from time to time. They are really expanding on these songs in their live versions, and it\'s cool to hear how they are transforming into live jamming vehicles. Keeps the fans interested.
I think the Breakfast should definitely take this approach on their next album. All new songs, and don\'t begin playing them live until the CD release tour. Have a couple songs on the album that will attract a new, younger, collegier audience, and promote the **** out of the CD. Then when the tour is announced, play these colleges and let the audience be mesmerized by how talnted this band is, and more importantly, how these songs are taking new shape live.
I know there has been discussion of this before, and many of you feel that songs that are in current rotation which aren\'t featured on an album should be for the new one, but i think it\'s the wrong approach. new songs=new fans, and keeps us interested as well. Not hearing songs live first will MAKE us all buy this album.
Wow, i was originally just going to post how I like the new UM album, and it turned into that. OK bye.
First, The Breakfast don\'t tour nor do they promote their CD\'s so your idea of a CD Release tour is ludicrous.
Second, No one knows The Breakfast now so any of their songs will be new. The Breakfast are not so established that your equation of New Songs=New Fans is even valid.
Sorry to burst your bubble but Reality Sucks.

Thanks, I have now got the first level stuff, thanks to someone here - very nice too, but if there\'s more, there\'s plenty of space in my pm box for sendspace addresses. ;)

the first batch of bonus stuff is decent, a good acoustic version of in the kitchen
Any idea where I could hear that bonus stuff? When I put my CD in, all I can get is the pdf of the sleeve notes. I would have thought everything would have become available to anyone who bought the CD. :(
Any chance someone could maybe sendspace it to me? I know I perhaps should have pre-ordered, and very nearly did, but as I\'m only recently really getting into UM, wasn\'t sure whether to take the chance. As it is, since the disc arrived on Monday, it\'s hardly left the car CD player.
The bonus stuff only goes to the people who pre-ordered it. Luckily one of my friends did. Once I get it from him I\'ll try and sendspace it to you. He only has the first level as of right now. I think there were 10 levels that were unlocked but they are releasing them one by one now.

Maybe not - we have ways - or rather buddies here on the board. ;)
-
you just got the ripped off Euro version. Free trade is over.....

Also, I will add.....they are coming to toad\'s on sunday april 5th.....
The Toads show is labeled as "An Evening With..." Supposedly its going to be an all acoustic show from what I\'ve read.
Should be a pretty interesting night then. I would like to hear some acoustic renditions of some of these songs on the new album.

I think the album is put together very well.
The first time I listened to the album I was a little disappointed due to all the hype, but after a couple listens I believe it is a great album.
I can\'t wait to here some of these new songs live + Jeff Waful is officially the new lighting designer, so this should be an improvement to the live performances.

on the whole, i love the cd and have been listening to it a bunch over the past week. spoke to bayliss about it yesterday, which was AWESOME. more to come on that...
here\'s the listening room review of the album. a harsh but hopeful 6 out of 10: http://listeningroom.lohudblogs.com/2009/01/22/review-umphreys-mcgee-mantis/ (http://listeningroom.lohudblogs.com/2009/01/22/review-umphreys-mcgee-mantis/)
After reading the text, I was rather surprised at it only being rated a six. Did I miss something? Certainly can\'t agree with that arbitrary number. Obviously from your comments on here, you are not the reviewer. Very intelligently crafted and well produced songs. I\'m diggin\' it. Although I still think that they shine live. Looking forward to hearing about your conversation with Brendan.

Sounds good - have been trying to persuade my band to do a cover of it. Would try breakfast songs, but one, we\'re not good enough and two, the lead guitarist can\'t cope with any chord which isn\'t a straight major or minor (but only at a push).

im diggin on it.

I always worry when forthcoming albums seem to be being hyped as being the album, so, although I had heard a few live songs via recordings, I waited for it to be released and found a copy on the net first.
That said I am eagerly awaiting the CD to arrive - took me all of two listens to decide I wanted the real thing! Has anyone else listened to the downloadable bonus tracks yet?
I know there are those here who don\'t give Umph the credit they deserve - OK in a head to head, Timmy would slay both of them, but they do write some very good songs and when I saw them live last year, they easily blew the biscuits off stage.
-
it\'s really good, hasn\'t left my cd player in about 2 weeks

Has anyone else listened to this yet? I\'ve generally liked them, but never was that that into them. But this album has really gotten into my brain. Loved loved loved cemetary walk II.
