mooboo is what got me into TPB ... one of the best songs ever written. After I heard it like the third time I couldn\'t get the lyric "... fails to be there" out of my head for literally 9-10 days ... my wife almost had me committed ... the only thing that would even come close to setting my mind at ease was blasting the Deuce version w/headphones. I currently have 16 live versions and think i\'ll go get another!

Best Tim solos of all time according to Tuna: sorry if my dates are a bit off I don\'t feel like double checking. Alright I\'m gonna leave a bunch out cuz I don\'t have a lot of time right now but IMO all these take a dump over the studio Mooboo (which is rather good too!)

Better Mooboos IMO:
6-22-07 Rocks On Boat Cruise: Mooboo\'s Voodoo (best ever imo even as a trio)
3-26-06 SOHO: Mooboo\'s Voodoo > HDX > LDZ > Mooboo\'s Voodoo

Tim at the top of his game in general:

2007-9-14 Daniel St: Space Oddity AND Great Big Fiery Ball... and **** it, that Drunk Monk Bar was fire too. #1 show I wish I made it to but didn\'t.
2002-04-20 Extravaganja: Gladys Pimp and Kangaroos with Me AND Buquebus (best old school verz)
2004-10-30 Electic Company: Gladys Pimp and Kangaroos with Me
2008-1-20 Iron Horse: Frankly Po Zest (among the most beautiful solos I\'ve ever heard!)
2006-6-25 Premier Music Hall: Puppetry. Kind of bad recording but trust this was pure tribal grime.
2008-9-05 Sully\'s: Rufus... aka at the time as "the redefinition of Rufus"... Rust solo from that show was pure talent as well
2008-04-18(?) Iron Horse: Hard Luck Harry
2008-??-?? Kinetic Playground: Synergy
2005-12-07 Kappa Sigma frat: Puppetry > Other One > Puppetry
2005-11-11 Wisconsin: Buquebus

BTW I just listened to Toad\'s place Mooboo for the 3rd time... just to confirm my opinion that its a damn good one but definitely doesn\'t step to the two others I mentioned :P I did love the "there can still be some hope in 2009!" line very much :D

And of course The Breakfast isn\'t all about Tim ;)

Mayfly Disarray from Strange Creek 09 IMO is the best thing they\'ve ever done, at least that I\'ve heard. Clearly a serious team effort on that one.

Mooboos studio was prob the best at the time, but many solos from \'05 i think would destroy it

I think so.  I gave it a good listen today, I mean REALLY listened, as opposed to normally blissing out.  This solo goes above and beyond  your average several chord solo.  He\'s able to peak several times without sounding contrived or "going for the blow job" as Zappa used to call it (or something like that).  Most top rated guitar solos are usually a minute tops, but Tim\'s surpasses the standard.  Emotion, texture, technical prowess, and a beginning and end. What an epic few minutes.  Thanks Tim....

how many times are you going to start a "best tim solo" thread ?

are there others?

i imported to itunes and am listening to it so loud as we speak...

http://www.sendspace.com/file/vut56f

speaking of which...

That file is a .cda file.  It\'s not the song.  It\'s the file that tells the CD what track to play.

Musically, and lyrically, Mooboo\'s moves me in so many ways.  This is one of my favorite songs of all time.  It\'s beautiful on so many levels.  Between the frantic opening and the poetic lyrics, it covers just about every relationship that most of us have been through.

Jordon rocks on this song btw.  Let\'s not forget him.  :)

Studio Mooboos is damn good. But a lot of the Mooboos played in the day one upped it.

My favorite Tim solo probably remains 2002-04-20 Gladys Pimp.

the solo in mooboos,to this day, sends shivers down my spine and covers my body with goosebumps.its the perfect guitar solo.not too long and not too short.pure perfection.that song,to me,is the best piece of music ever written.i mean that 100percent from the heart.that one song has made me laugh in amazement and cry in complete sadness and desperation more than anything i could ever imagine.its funny how a certain song could bring you back to a time of your life, good or bad,but i remember clear as day,the day that me and my ex were packing up our **** and going our own seperate ways, mooboos voodoo was playing in the background and ill never forget how i felt that day..when timmy came in with "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"......forget about it..if i was ever to drive out to i95 and step in front of an 18wheeler,it was that day and it was that song.despite the extremeness of the story, thats what a beautiful song is supposed to do to the listener..
on a sidenote,timmy solo in intension=STUPID

I gave Carolina **** Ecstasy a listen before Mooboo\'s.  For those who haven\'t heard it, the solo is very similar (well no **** Tim and Frank share the same DNA).  Listening to CHE my jaw always drops because let\'s face it, barely anyone can touch Frank, but sure enough Mooboo\'s gave me the same reaction.  So then I thought about other amazing/epic/unbeatable guitar solos, and concluded that Tim\'s solo in Mooboo\'s belongs in the rock history books.

 it\'s funny, I was just thinking the same thing yesterday! I played the album from my iPod and thought about the great production quality on that tune - this seems as close to "live" as possible from a studio track! :awwyeah:
