i *HEARD* milton is ok too

also, keep in mind that a lot of quincy isn\'t near 93

but the beach is nice

yeah, the place i\'m lookin at isn\'t really very "near" 93 at all.

but...it has a really nice kitchen, and that counts for a lot.

I\'m gonna be in the same boat looking for a place in Boston (provided I get a job soon). Let me know what you find out Tyzack

I\'ve decided to go with a place in Quincy.

It looks like craigslist is good for finding rooms, or renting from owners. I liked Rent.com for "managed" properties. So it depends what you want.

your best bet is probably quincy or the \'nice\' area of dorchester and south boston.

i don\'t do the south shore though, so i\'m not super familiar.

JP is also a good option but i\'m not too sure how close that is to 93.

but i\'d never live anywhere other than arlington/cambridge/somerville/medford again (while i rent)

why only those neighborhoods?

well, i should clarify - west cambridge/somerville.  east it can be shady.

its safe, lots of stuff to do - not just nightlife either - public transportation is available (within 2 blocks i have 7 different buses) AND having a car is easy, HUGE variety of eats, i can ride my bike, most of those areas are away from student ghetto and more young professional, and if you look hard enough, it\'s affordable.   the only down side is arlington doesn\'t have non restaurant bars but i\'m ok with that.

i\'d consider going back to newton/watertown and maybe even waltham.

allston to me is fun, but it just has this student ghetto/dirty feel to it, plus even though i like to party from time to time i don\'t really want it in my face 7 days a week.

Does anyone in the Boston Metro area here know of any bedrooms opening up Jan1/Feb1?

And/or can recomend a "good" ajency to use?

My brother actually lives in the Brighton/Alliston (sp?) area.  He is moving hopefully soon, but his lease is up Jan. 1/Feb. 1 (I forget which date).  He\'s moving because another friend moved in and they need a bigger place.  It\'s a 2-bedroom with a third room that can be a living room or bedroom.

If you\'re interested, I can find out the name of the building and the exact address for you, as well as when he\'s looking to leave.

try not to use an agency if possible

look on craigslist, i\'ll ask around.  where are you looking to move?

oh, i figured an agency would be better than dealing with an iduviaual owner.

south of the charles (not cambridge), somewhere near the T (isn\'t everyone) and/or 93...i work in norwood...
