I would have to agree with that choice. Worst band ever. Its not too often you will see PB saying bad things about a band opening for them, especially right out in the open. They were terrible though. I cant even believe you remembered their name.

Post by: realisthis on January 23, 2004, 08:35:58 pm: Kurt was upset because Pearl Jam had a record deal right off the bat because of the death of Andrew Wood and Mother Love Bone disbanning...Pearl Jam basically didnt have to work to get big and this is why he didnt consider them a "true" underground band...
Let me rephrase that: Pearl Jam had to tour and work to get big with their performances to get people to come to their shows...Just, that PJ had label support..
I am the biggest PJ fan on this board and maybe the world, but can also see where Kurt is coming from...

If Nirvana has good music (and there will always be a place in my hear for Nirvana!) then I believe that is what matters as far as the quality of the band goes. The band had some innovative ideas, and many of the songs were overflowing with intensely emotional lyrics. Yeah, Kurt was a hypocrite. But who isn\'t? Pearl Jam had music videos too, by the way.

Kurt Cobain. I think he was a **** phony. Eddie Vedder stood more for "not selling out" than Kurt Cobain... because Eddie didn\'t feel the need to go on MTV to express how much he hates selling out. Isn\'t irony fun?

It\'s a shame too because, taken for what they are, there are some great Nirvana tunes out there (and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" isn\'t one of them).

I have to disagree and say that Outkast has improved on each album...Clearly one of the better hip hop groups out there and I dont even like hip hop.

Post by: leith on January 23, 2004, 01:57:35 am: The Oasis on the first 2 albums were truly an amazing band for the time and their absolute adoration of the Fab 4 was magnificent in its audacity.

If the Strokes ever played a song w/ an original idea in it I could understand as they do rock out but damn if I have not been hearing those same licks for the past 20 yrs. Just what I think.

I cant name a least favorite but I will name my absolute favorite from when I was 13-16 and is probably quite a few people\'s LEAST favorite. . .

Sorry, I just think Noel Gallagher is one of the best guitarist/song writers of the 90s. . .

Every person who has ever played his music in my presence happens to be someone who sucks. That MCI commercial with him just came on, and I wanted to puke. I hope Gwar eats him.
