You did a good job.

Although busy, it does catch your eye.

Every bit helps.

Thanks for the effort.

Yeah its definitely "busy"... but so was I 15 minutes after work got out ;) Probably the least effort I ever put into a design job, but I think they will be effective hanging up on poster boards around town.

They actually look pretty dece coming off the color laser printer, Dericks art he hooked me up with might not be the most recent but its eye catching. Hopefully the thing looks quirky enough to entice some of the indie/hipster crowd around Northampton to take a look at it.

I think the Stoops mention and encouraging people to buy tix in advance are key though.

Good work.

Not bad but it is definitely busy. Too much is not east to read. Definitely eye catching.

I say scrap that stupid template and someone come up with a new one. It is just awful.

Here\'s what I came up with in about 10 minutes yesterday...

I know this isn\'t really evidence that I do a lot of high end design work professionally ;)
But hey, it\'s fun, hopefully gets the point across!

Even though it\'s not a terribly useful poster (can\'t read many of the tour dates, not web address listed, etc.), I like this one aesthetically.

The best thing you can do is email the promotion company and let them know what is useless and useful. That way time is not being wasted nor are resources.

NOTHING gets accomplished when we use this forum to ****. I am not saying anyone is bitching, right now, but we do it often enough.

It is time we make a collective effort as fans to give this band the respect the deserve and earned. If we don\'t believe, they won\'t succeed.

We can all do our part by doing what we can, something simple, easy and small. It can be handing out fliers, passing out discs or telling stories or something. Concentrate our focus and we will succeed.

Kumbaya motherfuckers!

(Also, I have to go with Josh on this one- that Iron Horse poster is hideous, even before it\'s blown up.)

Yeah Dave that poster is what they sent me. Thing is it looks redic when you blow that up to poster size when you start off at web resolution. Besides I need way more than the 4 they sent me to properly poster this town pre-show.

yea spaceman, sure shoot me their email, I will tell them how it would be more useful to get lots of posters instead of just a couple posters and tons of mini handouts

thanks DW

If you want to help promo, contact the promo company and they will send you materials.

That is why they were hired. To manage the band and to promote the band.

I did. They sent me hundreds of tiny handouts which I have no use for, as I\'m not going to any rock concerts in the next couple weeks. And they sent me only 4 useful-sized posters for the Iron Horse show, but they have spelling mistakes and look like they were thrown together in an early version of Microsoft paint. Not to mention they clearly used web-resolution artwork so it\'s all pixelated and artifacted.

As a graphic designer / ad guy, these aren\'t something I want to put up around town to represent my favorite band. So I\'m trying to make something quality.

Can I get high res / layered version of that poster?

Since whoever-from-Breakfast only sent me 4 posters (and sorry they are so ugly I don\'t think I will be hanging them up!) and like 4,000 tiny little cards (wtf am I gonna do with these? Sorry I\'m not going to 50 other concerts this month to hand this junk out)...

um yea like I was saying can I just get the high res files and print out my own Iron Horse posters?

Don\'t make me scan a bumper sticker because I will!

pm me your email- the one i have is just under 10 megs and is 3298X5102 jpg..... or i can convert it into a tiff if that\'s better for you. the tiff is 77 megs......

edit:

actually the tiff would be your best bet all you have to do is edit the text in photoshop....... if you can if not let me know

MJG is great...they are out of St Paul, MN and they bring a number of great bands to the area.  Here in Aberdeen, SD (Population 25,000) they have worked with a local promoter that does well with each show.  Here is the poster for the show that Skully Knuckles (http://www.skullyknuckles.com) will be opening for.  I\'m probably the biggest fan around here.  Also play drums for SN.  Look forward to the show.  MJG sent me a bunch of flyers, etc before the promotoer even knew of such a thing.

According to .org, The Breakfast has signed a new publicist and a new manager.

I don\'t have any insider info, so that\'s really all I have to say. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?
