thanks, i\'ll go look for it!
-
jking, the willie waldman thing was on youtube somewhere
-
Thanks, I\'ll definitely keep this in mind. It\'s hard to get anywhere without a license, but I\'m going to figure out a way to make this one happen.
James?
Unfortunately he works Friday through Monday.
-
i know its only been 5 months, but any word on the audio discs from this summer?? the willie waldeman thing??
i used to think we were spoiled. now i think we are deprived.

Really want to try to make it to this one.
i might head down to this so if you want you can hitch a ride as long as you can get down to Prov. i can pick you up at the train station. I don\'t know what i\'m doing at the end (either packing up and going home or find a place to crash)
i\'d like to check this out considering i missed all the other ones
if you are offering rides from the train station...sign me up.
alright man
-
I am totally excited and happy for this, since i missed the shows this summer. The Bealtes were my fav band as a child and a teen, so i am going to be in a giddy state that evening.

as a big beatles fan, this saddens me.
but at this point, i figured as much. just baffles me why something as great publicity-wise as these shows would be sequestered and not spread to potential new listeners....
but then i remembered to beat the dead horse a few times and to just keep on keepin\' on...
-

Never going to see the light of day.
You"ll get some excuse like "too busy" or "not enough money" or "band doesn\'t want to release them" and so on.
-

Cannot wait for this, and it\'s on a night that I can actually go! If you missed the shows this summer, really make an effort this time around. It will be well worth it me thinks. :)
-
It is a Saturday night. Try to make it down. If it is half as good as the acoustic shows then it will not want to be missed.
-
Really want to try to make it to this one.

Word on the street is that at 8pm on January 10th at Daniel Street in Milford is that the Beatles A to Z project returns for an evening of electric Beatles.
I was asked to make a thread but I figure the powers that be will get to it so until then I will just bump this.
I dont think its just word on the street anymore. Its listed on the side projects page of Breakfast.org. I never got to see any of those shows in the summer so I am excited.
Good. The word on the street is out.
Tim mentioned that they will play one song from each letter for each set or something along those lines.
Should be interesting evening with this being electric this time around.

Panio concertos A-Z
All concertos, all composers.
A few years ago WGBH in Boston did all of Bach\'s concertos (it lasted pretty much May through September) on their Classical Morning - Weekend show.
-
i dont know how it would be feasible....the best of 90s Alternative one hit wonders A to Z.
-
ser!!
-
How about these four at Daniels St. Copy the link to the address bar. Worth it!!!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxEX__YXmDs&feature=related
-
not that they\'re going to do anything like this again....but you guys are right, they should do zappa or steely dan or the like, so that they can do a meet and greet with every single solitary person who attends before the show. it shouldn\'t take very long.
-
On another note, someone before me mentioned Springsteen A-Z, there are 255 songs listed on his website, this might be enough to fill a 4-5 gig slot. I know it\'s not going to happen since 99% of the fan-base hate The Boss.
if this ever happens, i quit. i will kick myself off of breakfast lot for life and find some other band to follow around.

Wow - I\'ve never been called the anti-christ of anything before. I must be getting good.
You\'re right and ever obscure european prog & electronic band is in good taste.
The Band IS GOOD MUSIC.

But in all honesty, all the effort that goes into these side projects should be put into advancing The Breakfast.
-
How about no.
I swear, Yoda is like the antichrist of good taste...
Still hoping for a Steely Dan Happy Hour A-Z...
-
How about no.
-
Maybe not a Band A-Z, but how about a Last Waltz Revisited. Take a look at the setlist and tell me that wouldn\'t be awesome:
Up on Cripple Creek, The Shape I\'m In, It Makes No Difference, Who Do You Love, Life Is a Carnival, Such a Night, The Weight, Down South in New Orleans, This Wheel\'s on Fire, Mystery Train, Caldonia, Mannish Boy, Stage Fright, Rag Mama Rag, All Our Past Times, Further on up the Road, Ophelia, Helpless, Four Strong Winds, Coyote, Shadows and Light, Furry Sings the Blues, Acadian Driftwood, Dry Your Eyes, The W.S. Walcott Medicine Sow, Tura Lura Lural, Caravan, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, The Genetic Method/Chest Fever, Baby Let Me Follow You Down, Hazel, I Don\'t Believe You, Forever Young, Baby Let Me Follow You Down (Reprise), I Shall Be Released
(Two improved jams)
Encore: Don\'t Do It
Think of the possibilities of sit ins and all the different artists that went into making this concert one of the best: Ronnie Hawkins, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Neil Diamond, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Ringo Starr, Ron Wood
-
i gotta go with yoda on this one. i was coming in to sugggest the band. ron spears singing it makes no difference would be ser.
-
Wow - no love for The Band. How about Floyd A-Z?
now you\'re speakin my language.
i likey that idea also.
-
Yes. But it\'s mixed with other stuff too... classic rock, pop, etc. He\'s clearly talented, but I think it\'s pretty rough on the earholes.
Anyhow, enough about Girl Talk, there are a lot of fans here, and I only want to annoy them a little bit.
-
He\'s quite good. I just think most of the rap/hip-hop stuff he mixes is miserable.
do you mean he does those things where he takes a bunch of 10-30 second clips of rap songs and mixes/distorts them a bit and puts them into one thing?
i HATE when DJs do that
if thats not what you are talking about, then disregard the above
-

-
So this Girl Talk is a really bad DJ eh?
-
girl talk a-z? would you go by his song names or the real songs? this could be a logistical nightmare. plus many songs flow into each other, changing that would make it really rough sounding. you don\'t listen to a girl talk song, you listen to an album.
yes, and you listen to it over and over again until you wanna gouge your ears out. we get it.
-
you don\'t listen to a girl talk song, you listen to an album.
Or ya don\'t. ;)

how about beatles Z to A, with notes and lyrics all played backwards
-

Rush: A to Z

I\'ll save us the trouble of keeping this thread going.
REO Speedwagon
Journey
Slayer
Barry Manilow
Girl Talk
RAQ
Disco Biscuits
Englebert Humperdink
Ian Schumacher
Gladys Knight & the Pips
That takes care of just about every lame joke/reference we could make. Please go about your business.

i heard matt is going to do a solo project next summer: Mozart A to Z
-
How about the Band "No-No"
We all know that Tim is arduously preparing for the Heavenly spectacle, which will be known as...
Steely Dan "A to Z", coming to Daniel St. 5-8 every Friday Happy Hour!!
-
How about "The Band" A-Z.
-
well, phish is out. rotfl
-
Zappa is impossible. One could do the highlights of Zappa A-Z, but never his ever expanding catalog.
That being said..
Magma A-Z
your correct, too many songs, not to mention too hard.dont forget, these songs have to also flow nicely together.
-
Or, Tim and Adrian could find a bassist and keyboardist, learn all of the Breakfast songs, and play a bunch of shows across the country. That\'s something I\'m very excited for.[/I]
:that: :sigh:
-
yoda, i think you forgot to take notice that all the suggestions in my post were jokes... if anything michael jackson would be the coolest...
heh
-
Are these shows up on LMA?
Linky?
-
Bruce Springsteen would be cool, but who would you get to play in the band? To get the full sound of the band, you would need at least 2 guitar plays, bass, keys, piano, drums, sax. As much as I would love to hear see it happen, I don\'t think that it\'s a reality.
-
As much as I would love to see it, Zappa A-Z couldn\'t be done. if anyone really doubts that, we can get into the many reasons why. I love FZ and I love when The Breakfast covers his work but this is a natgohnnappen.
I agree w/ everyone who said that they should focus on THE BREAKFAST right now.
I wish I made it out for at least one of the beatles A-Z shows, I suck. :( What Tim, Ron, Sean, and Adrian pulled off is really something special/amazing.
-
zappa could be done, it would just take three years to do a show every sunday and cover it
-

Magma A-Z

bruce springsteen!!!
michael jackson!!!!
chumba wumba!!!!
-
I\'d love to hear the Doors A-Z. Think about it.

How about some Phish A-Z? :D
I know Dave Peck is itching for a Demand > Destiny Unbound > Dinner and a Movie.
Yes, it\'s a ridiculous thought maybe, but a fun thought to entertain none the less.
Only thing is I don\'t know how covers would be dealt with since there are soo many of them, I guess they would maybe only play the select few that are played most often (frankenstein, etc). <3
Sand > Sanity?!
We actually had a few great laughs last night discussing this exact topic. We worked off the top of our heads to come up with the funniest/worst alphabetical Phish song combos. I came up with Faht > Farmhouse > Fikus, Pec countered with Jennifer Dances > Julius > Kung, then we both tag-teamed on Dave\'s Energy Guide > Dear Mrs. Reagan > Demand > Destiny Unbound and on and on it went. Funny stuff. Then Pec looked up the list of Phish songs so we could see some real combos and boy were there some doozies.
I asked a bunch of people last night if they could choose the next band to be covered A-Z what would they pick. (Without regard to the feasability or difficulty of the catalog.) Phish is the clear winner for me personally. Pec went with Madonna, an interesting choice I would not have thought of. Zeppelin, Zappa, and the Dead all got a few mentions. Good topic.
You know what else would be interesting? The Breakfast covering themselves A-Z. They\'d have to pull everything off the shelf and segue every tune and make it all work. Of course, it would be a complete waste of time making Chris and Matt learn old shelved tunes just for one performance, but it would be fun to listen to. The Za encore at the last show would be epic.
-
oh, i didn\'t mean to say that i wouldn\'t go to a phish a-z....i would just prefer something that they haven\'t done yet...for an entire night. know what i mean?
-
id feel obligated to make the trek for a the phish a-z
-
i agree about the Phish A-Z, just because they\'ve already done an entire show devoted to Phish. got to keep it fresh. Thank you Yoda for agreeing with the Zappa idea, my bubble is now being re-inflated :) the guys could probably get away with a Talking Heads A-Z, but I doubt the turnout would be very good for TH.
-
Not sure about the Phish or LZ A-Z. My choices would be:
- The Who
- Grateful Dead
- Frank Zappa
-
i cannot believe this thread was just made, cuase i was going to make a thread about a phish A to Z tonight (i had already begun putting the setlists together, the first one would end with Divided Sky encore, and the last one would end with YEM encore)
only original songs would be my vote (Ya Mar, kicked off lot)
-
I was talking to Chris K last night, and agree that a Led Zeppelin A to Z would be a great contender for a side project next year! :awwyeah:
But, for right now, like Drew said, I think it\'s best for the Breakfast to focus on THE BREAKFAST. Side projects are fun and great, but the band really should promo & work on their own stuff instead of working on other people\'s tunes.
-
By the way, and I fully accept my part of the responsibility for not doing this either, but where was all of the Breakfast promo this past month? Fliers, posters, word-of-mouth, whatever. There were a lot of people at Daniel St. over the last five Sundays who probably didn\'t even know who The Breakfast was... and most of them probably still don\'t.
doh!
-
I\'m sure Pitch would love them to do Culture Club A-Z....ha! ;)
but on a better note, they should do Zappa A-Z
echidna\'s arf > excentrifugal forz > father o\'blivion
...or something along those lines.
get real, no way.
no ****...but can\'t a girl fantasize?
-

This post is not meant to take any from the amazing accomplishment of learning and performing 224 Beatles songs, of course.
