How did you learn this much about brahs and farmhouses from a science teacher?  Did he teach you 4:20 while he was at it?

If you make it to a show, he\'ll be the 6+ foot EYETalian guy sweatin\' like a machine while loading the bands equipment into the gig.  Ya really can\'t miss him if you hang around for awhile.  Tell him your a former student of PJ... he might be able to get you in....

but you should really just go to all ages shows.

Follow the whistling, or the sweat droplets.

Seriously though, your best bet is to just find a show that is all ages. You probably don\'t want to mess around with a fake ID. Bars are getting tougher and tougher about weeding out underagers. Many places have machines that scan the IDs. It would really suck to travel somewhere and not be able to get in, or worse, get in trouble for trying.

It sucks, I know. I was there once too.

hey cj make sure you check the 21+ note on the shows before heading out. def don\'t want to drive a distance and get barred at the door. There are also 18+ shows time to time but being a junior I\'m guessing you\'re 17? a toads place all ages is probably going to be your best bet after the tour ends.

I never saw this thread. RIP MakisupaPJ. That\'s really sad. I never met him, and remember asking him if he was on ecstacy while posting one night (which he obviously wasn\'t) because I\'d never seen such positive posts being spit out.

Welcome to the board CJ. Carry the torch.

I want to make learning fun like he did and inspire so many people that I barely know to go out and do what they love and just live life to the fullest. but yeh Im new to this whole forum thing.....PJ always told me to check it out but I never really got the time. so yeh Idk when any show dates are. any dates you guys know of?

i met pj at a phil lesh show in hartford in the summer \'06 i believe, and then he was at beardslee castle a couple days later for jordan\'s last show.  he was really nice and he really left some great positive messages on .info.  i remember after meeting him, gabe and i were like "man, i wish i had a teacher like him in high school!."  my love and condolences to his family, friends, and students.

Hey guys. My name is CJ. i was one of PJs students, but to him i was more than a student. in fact all of his students to him were more than a student. they were all considered to him friends and family. I had the honor of getting to personally knowing PJ. This guy impacted my life so **** hard it shocked me. He taught me that kids nowa days are looking to far into the future and that everyone should just live for the moment. He was one of my best friends, a teacher, and a role model. Im so saddened to say that he will miss out on this years supposedly amazing winter. I fully appreciate all of what you guys have done in memory of the greatest man to ever shred a mountain. I love you and miss you PJ! until next time buddy.

Keep those memories close CJ.  Let them inspire you everyday.  That is the tribute you can give back to your teacher.

damn.  such sad news.  i remember meeting PJ at a moe. show and he was a crazy cat and we had such a goofy conversation.  someone i remembered from that night on and had only seen once or twice after that.  i have been reading his facebook updates when they came up in the past few months and he was so pumped about his \'new to him\' truck and seemed to enjoy life at every corner.

RIP buddy.

So sorry to hear about this.

So, so sad.  Like many on .info, I had never met PJ, but felt like I knew him through his posts. I\'ll always remember him replying to a post of mine, saying "hope to meet you someday."  His positive attitude and humor were always a welcome read.  My condolences to his family and friends, may he rest in peace.  Like Billy Joel sang "only the good die young."  I guess that\'s why I\'m still around.

Very sad.  He seemed like a very upbeat and humorous guy.

He was pretty active and athletic so it\'s a big shock to hear about.  Kind of reminds me of a semi-pro biker friend of mine who died from heart failure unexpectedly in his sleep a few years ago at age 29.

I am saddened to hear this news. I feel that it is only right to express my deepest sympathy to his family, friends and students. I knew MakisupaPJ from the moment he replied to the Fresh Cut Welcome thread. We traveled to many shows together, enjoyed many times together. He was who he was but he loved to have a great time. He definitely cherished the relationship he had with the B-fam. I remember numerous good times and how grateful he was to all of us for welcoming into our family.

It sucks to hear about these things but it seems like many of us are at the age where death is becoming a normal part of life. It makes you cherish all of the good health that we have and the makes the days that much more special.

I spoke to PJ enough to consider him a friend. I can\'t tell you how much it hurts to see my friends die before they ever really experienced life.

You can never tell your friends enough how much they mean to you. How much you love them. How much you care for them.

Dear Brookfield High School Community,

I am deeply saddened to announce that Peter (P.J.) Zguzenski, our beloved science teacher and friend at Brookfield High School, passed away the weekend of August 2nd, 2008.  “Mr. Z.”, as the students called him, was a vibrant member of the Brookfield High School community.  His love and passion for life shone through in all that he accomplished.  As a wonderful teacher, athlete, musician, and friend, Mr. Z. will always be remembered by the BHS community.  We will all miss his ready smile, his eagerness to lend a hand, and his unwavering dedication to helping all students succeed, in his classes and in life.  His memory will always be an inspiration for us all.

A memorial scholarship is being established in honor of Mr. Z.  Please send contributions to “Brookfield High School, attention Mr. Z. Scholarship Fund, 45 Longmeadow Hill Road, Brookfield, CT, 06804”.

I consider myself fortunate to have had an opportunity to spend some time with P.J., both at Brookfield High School and at Litchfield High School where we worked together.  Whenever we spoke about teaching and learning, he always ended the conversation with, “I just want so badly to be the best teacher I can possibly be.  I care so much about these kids.”  I’ll never forget his drive to be the very best and his dedication towards all of his students.   He will be sorely missed by us all.

With Sadness,

Dr. Bryan D. Luizzi
Principal
Brookfield High School
