any repetative song like that can become wearing at some point. Hall of the mountain king, flight of the bumblebee, fast repetative riffs that you work on and slowly bring the tempo up on as you get the mechanics down can be trying on everyone else other than the musician. Just ask anyone who\'s ever lived with one.

Hell, I remember hearing about how tim drove people nuts when writing merge because he was just sitting in the back of the van playing the riff over and over again for a few hours while he wrote the lyrics.

Gfunk, you certainly know your ****.  Nice posts.  I saw the guys in the first clip in Chicago back in the day, with Steve Morse opening and then joining them for the encore, which was sick.  Haven\'t seen Stanley Jordan in years.  I remember when he was a student at Princeton University and had a band call Timepiece.  And the last guy.  Whoa!  My current favorite guitarist.  Great music is timeless.  Thanks.

youre wrong kid does not know shitballs

nice glad you enjoyed my selections. I don\'t know if those are the fastest guitarists out there but they are def some of the best. I\'ll have to look into Timepiece and Steve Morse.

I think this is hilarious!  You should hear me play "Ooze of the Molasses"

Next thing you know it they\'ll have a World\'s Fastest Drummer contest.

Just cause someone can play fast doesn\'t mean they can\'t play with soul and feeling.

But this guy... ser dildo.

I\'m not making fun of the guy...he\'s probably a very good guitarist.  I just found the entire video amusing...starting at 200 and working his way to 320.  It almost looked like they speed up the tape but the background music stays in the original key.  Pretty sick.

That song at 320 bpm is BLOODY fast.    It might not be artful, but it is skillful.

Don\'t be a hater....

yeah, i have a hunch that this guy can play what he has learned really fast, but if hasn\'t spent his time studying it, he can\'t just play along...

I can\'t here it here at work but I *love* flight of the bumblebee, and that said, I can barely play it at 100bmp, so this is obviously impressive on some level.

That said, anyone can bury themselves in a room and master a piece of music without understanding any of the theory behind it or being able to improvise... Which is why tim is a hell of a lot better than this guy.
