thanks guys, took some of your suggestions and they are def pretty siick. i can see why all the bands on the scene today always refer to them as an influence on their own music

between nothingness and eternity - epic live show
high five!
this is a must listen once you\'ve gotten yourself familiar with the band.
but i\'m surprised theres no love for visions of the emerald beyond. i dig that record a whole lot.
my experience was as follows:
DL\'d dance of maya because i heard a friend cover it > inner mounting flame > birds of fire > BN&E > Visions > lost trident sessions.
i feel like that was a really solid way to get into this band. worked for me anyway...

ha, you\'re right lexi, I flipped them. Too many double negatives on the brain, and it was 4:30 in the morning.

You can\'t go wrong with anything.....
This is an interesting statement. you could say it several ways:
You can go wrong with nothing
You can\'t be correct with anything
To be correct, do nothing
You\'re wrong if you do anything
etc.
yep, I\'m easily entertained at 4am.
now i stand no chance against the brains of a certain Paul Ryan,
but wouldnt it be "you can\'t be incorrect with anything"?
to be correct do anything
you\'re wrong if you do nothing?
i\'m sorry, i\'ll sign off now

1. The Inner Mounting Flame
2. Birds of Fire
3. The Lost Trident Sessions
You can\'t go wrong with any of these, but start with 1 and/or 2.

Birds of Fire #1
You can\'t go wrong with anything.....

all the above suggestions are excellent choices, but i would recommend staying away from inner worlds or adventures in radioland which may come up in your searches. those albums are not the same lineup and as a huge mclaughlin fan i would say those albums are some of his worst. also if you ever get into the band and want to hear some of there live material (which really is something incredible as the songs are way more intense than on recording) just pm me and i would gladly send you some.
-
get them all.
-
Birds of Fire is my favorite studio album by them.
-
Just listened to The Inner Mounting Flame at work today. You will dig it for sure, korey.
How are you and shana? I miss you guys.
-
get them all. trident sessions is pretty sick but def start with inner mounting flame.
-
whenever i see this band name, i think it is a side project of that rapper guy matisyahu, or however you spell it
