Title: Kanye West booed and heckled at Bonnaroo

well the problem is that music listeners have had their senses dulled by decades of an industry that didn\'t require the product to be any good. but it appears that the masses are beginning to wise up because they ain\'t buyin\' it anymore. the majors are going under HARD.
gordo, every momentum gaining band wouldn\'t be thrown out in front of the world all at once, it\'d be a process. example: say you track x amount of sales in a certain period of time. perhaps that\'d sorta "unlock" access to connecting with a better booking agent or manager or better distrobution, etc. the booking agents/managers etc. like this because they no longer have to sift through all the crap to find the bands that are working hard and seeing results. the bands love it because they can see tangible rewards directly proportionate to how much work/results they\'re seeing.
of course, this is the path for a new band first starting out. they\'ll also have their roster of marquee acts that\'d be able to avail themselves to all the services the label can provide.

That sounds awesome, but how does it work when every band gaining momentum is suddenly introduced to the power world simultaneously? Still, it does make sense. If you\'ve got the chops and it never comes across the "big desk," your chances are nil. This way odds are clearly better.
i saw the kings of leon last friday and i swear they were lipsynching/playsynching. the songs sounded exactly like the radio versions.
we need less of that in the industry and more of the real deal. hopefully things will change, but most music listeners are too dumb to notice.

There are many layers of right and wrong.
Was Kayne mean to Taylor Swift and hurt her feelings? Yes and yes. Was it a dick move on his part? Totally. Did he embrace his emotions passionately and live in the moment to do so? Yes. Is that a bad thing? Usually not, but in some cases can lead to reckless behavior. Did the universe get a chuckle out of the whole ordeal compared to almost any issue which trumps this in importance? I certainly hope so. I did. Was it wrong for me to laugh? Maybe, see below. Did I laugh at Taylor Swift\'s hurt feelings? No, I felt sort of bad for her. Even though I tend to feel less bad for the rich and famous because they can always go be rich and famous even if something shitty happens. Did I laugh at Kayne West\'s insanely ballsy, cocky, and over-the-top behavior and the general public\'s reaction to it? Oh yeah!
Zoom in / zoom out, and there you find different dimensions where there may be some flexibility within the universal laws of right and wrong. Love is universally good in any dimension. Passion and laughter are usually connected to love and are therefore usually inherently good also. Misdirected passion due to cockiness that verges on insanity leading to laughter and general amusement at the fact that somebody broke social norms and helped bring about a discussion on the many true natures of humanity... well I think the world is a better place overall with a little bit of that from time to time.

Okay I was trying not to find out about this as I assumed whatever Kayne did was probably stupid and totally gay. But the TV caught me last night and I was totally surprised!

i know enough has been said about the kanye ordeal, but on a somewhat related note, watching the VMAs the other night reminded me why i haven\'t bothered watching over the last several years. mtv **** sucks and so do most of the people who are on it now. it used to be cool and now it is really just a joke.

Geez,sorry about that, it was probably 2003...it\'s not like I\'m making it up. I went to EVERY Berkfest, I apologize I can\'t distinguish every single performance from every year. moe. got soundly booed one year. It happened. Oh well. I didn\'t actually boo them so don\'t get mad at me!

A good performer plays through any conditions. Musicians, athletes, even actors have to perform in the changing conditions around them, cmon Kanye. What a loser.

it was a **** joke. kanye ruined that part of bonnaroo. however, bonnaroo was NUTS this year for myself. i went with \'the postelles\' who were on the bill, i attended high school with them. the lead singers girlfriend is also the head lawyer for bonnaroo, radiohead, trey etc. so not only did we get guest camping and ammeneties (open bar and free food entire weekend) but we were literally on the stage or the risers on the stage for pearl jam, jack johnson, widespread etc. backstage at every show, met derek trucks, partied with all the comedians. met jack johnson. just an outstanding weekend
on a semi - related breakfast note..i had dinner with Eddie Vedder on Friday before his performance. me eddie and my one other friend who is close family friends with him. My friend who introduced me to vedder, his brother is in a band called \'the tangeants\'. they have played the lions den on a night when the breakfast did too, they played that 6 pm slot or something when the breakfast played at 12. so anyway, my friend mentions how his brothers band \'opened\' for one of my (pointing at me) favorite bands. i replied \'yeah, the breakfast, great band, check them out\'. he didnt really react, however, and my friend continued on with his story...did what i could though. eddie later gave me his pick. what a trip, having halibut with EV and then seeing him control thousands and thousands of people jumping simultaneaously. so **** cool.
weekend = success
highlights for me = MMJ Sigur Ros Mason Jennings Peal Jam DEREK TRUCKS - (probably my favorite show of the weekend...get that recording)
hopefully the breakfast will one day play this event.

i was at moe. at berkfest in 2002. i don\'t remember booing. unless that was the year they pulled the power on them during the set, which then in turn caused booing. but it wasn\'t at moe.

He was also originally scheduled to go head to head against Jack Johnson. Johnson would have been on the What Stage (main) with Kayne on the Which Stage (2nd largest of 5). I\'m sure he didn\'t like that.

Going over your time slot is the spoils of being a headliner. Nobody was supposed to have the stage immediately after them. No one followed Metallica on the Main stage Friday, who also went over their alloted time. MMJ played late night on the second stage.

i heard that kanye pushed that time back so that he could play while it was dark out (i guess this is his "glow in the dark" tour). not only did this late (late) start time cause phil/friends to end early, but 30 mins after he started, the sun came up
