there goes any good reason to go to NH.
I don\'t know about that... mother nature did some mighty fine work within the borders of New Hampshire!! And from what I\'ve seen from the folks that showed up one day on tour... the people are GREAT!

Hope the Stone Church can keep it\'s doors open for many years to come!!

from the new owner:
Hey folks. Exciting stuff about Chris and Melissa\'s plan for a restaurant and live music venue... and that they\'ll hopefully be getting some additional ideas from the community later this month.
As that progresses, I\'m going to be focused on developing the building’s second floor ballroom. The previous owners did some beginning renovations on the upper floor but never finished. Does anyone know of sponsors to help fund the remaining work and put the space to use?
Ideas for the second floor include renting it to musicians for band practice during the day, and then renting it out as a function hall for banquets, parties and art shows at night. If anyone is interested in using the space for a small rental fee, even as-is, please let me know.
We are also now officially holding a farmers’ market in the parking lot on weekends this summer, beginning June 21st. The Town of Newmarket, the Lamprey Arts and Culture Alliance, and even the Newmarket Garden Club are all working to help put a Stone Church spin on what could be a really cool event... especially considering Chris and Melissa\'s plans to use local and organic products when possible. Is anyone interested in renting a booth for the event?
Hopefully these kinds of ideas will help find the fundage necessary to complete renovations to the second floor, such as installing a sprinkler system and soundproofing the room. I\'m considering hosting a series of benefit shows with local bands to raise money for the cause. But until then, I\'m super excited about the plans downstairs.
I really appreciate any insight or ideas.

My friend heard all this info from the owner.
I dont think he would joke around about it.
-
this would be horrible if it is true. going to look into it
-
I call nannies. Schedule runs through July.
-
this sucks. Glad I got to see at least one show there though. Really liked the venue.
-
That\'s really sad to hear. i\'m gonna miss the pilar that i always put my arm around in the middle when they play there. i love the little, tight rooms with low ceilings, the sound seems to have no choice but to be good. lot of great b\'fast shows there, it\'s too bad. kinda hard to believe there aren\'t any good venues in nh that they can play.
i\'m gonna miss walking up those long stairs and seeing the doors and realizing once i went inside i\'d be blown away...
:(
-
if they do re open it better be at the same place. the church is classic
-
no biggie. higher ground shut down in williston for about a year then moved to south burlington to a bigger and better venue... stone church is just playin ya\'ll and doing the same thing

the best (and practically only) venue in NH is dunzo?! this is bullshit!
-
:rip:
::sheds tear::
that is some bad news.. the first time the band played there it was snowing so the turnout wasn\'t anything special, but the room had such a good **** vibe.. ya know the whole interaction of energies between audience and band... I was lucky enough to make it to the next five appearances, and at least another time last year.. great spot, also caught the du0 there, a while back, and was able to just stare at the finger movements of marco the whole time :) that\'d be sick if tb played at is closing, like winterland... hahaha

They have A LOT of debt. They were trying to turn into a non profit, but its not working out for them.
