WOW - 6/5 Dewey\'s - an incredible night indeed. Thanks to Timmy P (drumming with tree branches, forehead keyboard, \'MoJo Rising\', etc!) and deep-end Chris D (THE best 3 piece \'Whipping Post\' - maybe ever!) and Electric Mayhem\'s Glenn Webb (the guy with the real drumsticks) for stopping down and mixing it up BIG TIME with Sam and the boys. Ken\'s video will be floating around soon - make sure to get a copy of this one.
Oh - another major moment - Tim on keyboard - Sam on Strat - trading licks - so very special!!!!! I think that\'s what led to Tim playing \'headboard\'.

glad i made it out - it was a fantastic evening ! sam is an extremely talented musician, and watching him play was a blast! i felt like every time i looked over there was a new person on stage and everyone was playing another instrument :) certainly an exciting night of music!
Princess was apparently all over the place last night... dotINFO Tour like a mo-fucka.

nice set list from 5/22. I\'ve been told there\'ll be plenty of new tunes this week. Acoustic/electric/special guests. Nice!

great time last night. highlights for me were Mama Tried > Lie In Our Graves, Waste > Reba > Waste, Us And Them, and Big Me. very glad i made it out, though watching the gauntlet set up across the street was a bit nervewracking at times. definitely looking forward to more "Sammy Tour" in the future!
Yeah, holy police state. The owner\'s instructions were right on the money, and actually a lot faster.
funny thing is, they were completely gone at closing time.
wasn\'t that sweet of them.

Since Sammy isn\'t part of this forum (yet), I will type for him and say that he/we can\'t thank you guys enough for coming out and supporting the young guy in his solo acoustic debut. Great jams/lots of happy people digging it!!! Can\'t scrape up a setlist at this point, but hilites for me included "Us & Them", "What I Got", "All Day Music", "Mama Tried", "Waste>Reba>Waste"......and many more.
And, cuz of the great support (and Sam and his LoopStation rockin\' the house, along with Casey, Glenn Webb on drums, and Adam on keys & drums), he has been booked for more Dewey\'s shows (June 5 & 19). Thanks again - and just a reminder - Sam & Caitlin will debut their new music project "It Is",on Sat June 7 at The Acoustic Cafe in Bpt (opening for Electric Mayhem).
Peace - SB

I know I\'ll never convince the Timmy faithful that they missed something special outside of New Haven... but Sammy rocked the All American Valley last night in a mean way. As first solo acoustic performances go, this kid is an instant veteran. He treated the valleys finest to a fine selection of Phish (Mikes Song... Tim’s got some competition here), The Dead, Allmans, and several quality originals.. He had a couple special guests, including Casey from Hubinger for a little Doobie Brothers “Long Train Runnin’”. Last night some drunk slob said to me “I’m on Sammy Tour! It’s about the music man!”… it may have been Steve.

sam is great and all but i think i\'ll support the member of the band who\'s forum we\'re on at his gig at anna liffey\'s in new haven on thursday night. best of luck to sam though and i hope to catch him soon!!
Good point (and absolutely no disrespect to "Uncle Timmy" - support him and his guitar insanity at all costs!!!)
As they often say (or at least I do): "It\'s all good"!
-
so where would I know Sam Blanchette from?
he\'s sat in with the Blah Blah a few times and has been a sort of "unofficial" 5th member of Hubinger for some time now.

oof. thursday nights are tough for me, but sam\'s a great guitarist... it would be great to check this out... hopefully I\'ll be there :)

Hey all - just a reminder that your old (OK - not-so-old!) buddy, guitarist Sam Blanchette will be debuting as a solo acoustic act this Thursday, May 22nd at Dewey\'s Pub in Seymour (exit 22 off Route 8). If all goes well (turnout, music, etc) they will certainly have him back on a fairly regular Thursday schedule through the summer, possibly evolving into some type of open mic session and/or 2nd set electric (drum kit and bass amp already in place - bring guitar amp if planning on \'plugging in\').
Anyhow, if you can, please come on up (or down, across, however your GPS gets you there). No cover charge, plenty of friendly regulars, a real nice guy (George Dewey) running the place, a few musical guests expected to join Sam on stage for his first time out, etc. Music scheduled to start around 9 or so.
Sam would love to see some of you there on the 22nd, even if it\'s just for a quick beer and a tune or 2 - it would mean so much to him to have a great turnout his first night.
