Title: An Evening with Umphrey\'s...
Post by: Todd on April 15, 2008, 11:17:15 am
Pretty sure it\'s not who you\'re thinking Brian. He\'s the newest douche on the block. It\'s Chris\' fault about the camera. In the pre-door briefing, he told the newb "no professional cameras", without the clarification of what he meant. I didn\'t bring my camera. Wasn\'t interested in shooting that night.

short dark hair, beard, kind of like dave peck build but a little stockier. Todd said he thought he knew who he was when I described him on the phone.

That guy is alright. He probably caught **** for too many cameras already in. It\'s alot easier to keep new ones out than toss people. Most nights it\'s not an issue so he probably didn\'t think of it until tour manager bitched. But to compare his build to Dave\'s is charitable.  Unless DP has developed a foundness for cheese fries since I\'ve seen him last.

BTW- Happy b-day!

The point was, I was pissed because I had no problem whatsoever at the calvin 2 nights prior and I specifically asked and showed the camera to the security there and was told was "no flash". I\'ve had cameras in toads tons of times so I know it\'s not the band and I know it\'s not the venue, and at $25 a ticket I\'d rather stay home than help to pay his salary.

Oh, if anyone wants to see the friday calvin photos, they are on myspace and facebook.

Did you get your camera in todd?

no **** they do...i dont know why some people dont like these guys.  they are the tightest on the scene and have great vocals and catchy songs.  and intense energy throughout.

walked in, "You can\'t bring that camera in here".

um, really. There are already people in there with bigger cameras than this.

"no there aren\'t."

So what you\'re saying then, is you\'re not actually checking what\'s inside of any of the bags people are carrying

"I\'m checking, but that\'s a professional camera and it\'s not coming in."

And you want me to pay $25 just to watch the show? No thanks.

~walked away.

Do you recall what this guy looked like?

^agreed, i dont think it has anything to do with the band, just the guy at the door.  because i KNOW um lets people record freely in almost any form.

The guy you dealt with at the door was a new guy. He has no idea of the difference between a professional camera and his left nut.

:( so sorry for ya, paul!  I can\'t believe UM thinks they\'re that good where they\'d rather bust balls than have someone enjoy the show.  We just saw Badfish there on Friday night & they were letting any/everyone in through the door! That being said, we\'re on our way down... if you\'re still around the new haven area, give a call later! :)
