headin out to my first TLG show.....well technically, I have seen them at a few festys but never REALLY seen them. Walking distance from my house and tickets for $12?? Hell yea
Can\'t pass that up, even on a thursday night! Really excited to see how they sound, good venue too, just saw the Biscuits and Moe. there both last month!!
-
in other words: tea leaf green shows are a good time.
+ the breakfast = watch out.
wish i was gonna be at hg
-
last time i saw tlg i was nearly blacked out, took a half hit of acid, and tried to freestyle onstage with some local band that was playing next door.
somehow drove home and got naked in front of my friends.
Hahahahaa!!!

saw them last night for the first time at rev hall. Good band, id give it a 7/10 show. Bass was fantastic (obviously), drummer was so-so (lost time, tempo changes at times), i liked the guitar player...he was good enough to impress the crowd a lot and had a wide variety of styles, and good stage presence. the keyboardist had a GREAT unique voice, but wasnt all that impressive IMO on keys (his lines were very standard and in popular scales). i would def see them again. solid jamming too.
-
And it was in Denver too...
too bad i still lived in VT at that point... now you guys are playing together in VT. You trying to avoid me? Daayyuuummm.

here\'s the archive.org link...great sit-in!:

Last time our bands shared the same stage was
April 20th, 2004 - Cervantes; Denver, CO
I: Cut Me Some Slack, Earache My Eye > LDZ > Dimension 5, Beef Barley, Inner Glimpse, Escher\'s Etchings > Phaddy Boom Baddy, What the Funk > Sweet Leaf
4 years to the date. peace

im seeing TLG for the first time tomorrow night at rev hall...i got a free ticket

The Breakfast will hit the road again this weekend for shows at the Stone Church and Higher Ground while TLG will not be far off, also hitting the Higher Ground and Revolution Hall in Troy, NY.
any chance of more sit-ins at the higher ground?
Well Tim was speaking with Jenna about them playing the same night there.
Do they play at the same time? A keyboard and guitar switcheroo during each of their sets would be cool to see... half tlg and half breakfast on two different stages!

Decent crowd for TLG?
How did the substitute bassist fare?
Better than The Breakfast pull on average. Steve Adams is a funkmaster of grooves!
-
Tim and Jordan joined in on Hot Dog and re appeared for Sex in the Seventies during Tea Leafs encore.
Now that\'s creepy!! I said I would have liked to hear that and lo and behold...
Now, maybe if I say, "I really wish The Breakfast could do a tour of the UK soon", it would work perhaps?? ;)
And guess what, first recording up on bt.etree:

Now that\'s a show, I will definitely be getting. Excellent too to see Jordan still jamming with his buddy - would have been even better to have heard sequoia ripping it up on Sex In the 70s, though -I think it would really suit his playing.
I don\'t know who set this up, but well done - excellent exposure for our boys.
Andy Jordan played on Sex also.
I had called Christopher Sabec 2 weeks ago to get this rolling, asked Tim about it when he was in Cali and then Ellis helped out by giving Tim TLG\'s soundguy\'s # 2 nights ago who gave Tim Josh Clark\'s # and tada Synergy is acheived!

This is what I sent this morning .. that is what they wrote.. I sent a correction note a few minutes ago.
After wrapping an early bird acoustic homecoming The Breakfast\'s Tim Palmieri along with former Breakfast keyboardist Jordan Giangeco joined TLG at Toads Place in New Haven CT. Tim and Jordan joined in on Hot Dog and re appeared for Sex in the Seventies during Tea Leafs encore.
Tea Leaf and the Breakfast do go back a few years. The last time they played together they were billed as Tea Leaf Breakfast during an interlocking set at the jambase party in Austin TX during SXSW in 2003.

lyrics are a little whiney
They\'re from Cali and Leith likes them...\'nuff said? ;)
But...looking forward to giving them another shot at Toad\'s...I\'m not totally convinced they\'re a **** band if Leith, Fitz, Andy (aka Boombox) and a few others are on their pash wagon.
-
just saw them in houston on sunday and they popped up and did a band switch with moe. in new orleans on monday. fun band...lyrics are a little whiney, but i enjoy them...look forward to seeing them again.
-
going to see them on 4.20 post-breakfast in CT
Seeya there.
you working lights that night? I might make the trip down, not sure yet tho.
Nah i just decided to stay on the Moonalice bus through New Haven to catch some TLG and Bfast.

bd, from what i understand, dont you love the saucers?
-
If TLG shows were 21+ there would be a lot more young spunions with fake IDs.
TLG = youngest saucer-eyed crowd I have ever seen at Iron Horse. And one of the most boring shows.
-
However, the more important questions for me are: how were Moonalice and was Jack with them?
Moonalice does not join up with TLG until the 19th in NYC.
-
Fair review marcial, though it\'s only a stand-in bassist as Reed Mathis has other commitments. I have to say I have always really liked tlg, getting into them around the same time as pb. Am still a bit pissed they didn\'t do at least one show in the UK before jitd this year - a back to back bisco/um and tlg over the weekend would have been nearly perfect. (Perfect only if The Breakfast had been on the bill too!)
However, the more important questions for me are: how were Moonalice and was Jack with them?
-
drummer: steady & solid. not flashy at all. ok.
Bass player: meh
Guitarist: awesome
Keys: great, and I like his voice.
It was a good show for a Thursday night. It was all ages, which made me feel like the oldest person in the place (I actually might have been). Overall, they seemed a bit too "sing-songy" for me, but I bet I would like them more next time knowing what to expect.
-
Actually Marcial. We will have to wait to meet.
I got diverted to Moonalice\'s tour as renting lights for a week was cost prohibitive and Moonalice owns their own lighting.
-
So, TLG is playing in town tonight and I am going to go check them out for the first time. Other than what they play on Jam On, the only time I\'ve ever heard them was in a video from a few years ago with TPalms sitting in.
I understand that Leith is running lights, so I will finally get to meet him. Does anyone have anything they want me to pass along to him besides a swift kick to the nuts?
:)
