so, i\'m sitting here at my desk, diligently working, listening to Thelonius Monk and John Coltrane Live At Carnegie Hall, when what should creep into my brain??? at some point during EVERY SINGLE SONG???
freakin\' salty peanuts!!! (saltypeanuts, saltypeanuts)
man, i hope i can get that out of my head sometime... i know it won\'t be soon, but sometime, please, so i can go back to enjoying jazz without laughing...
-
i was down there but helped my dad with the oil furnace and when i was done i smelt even worse than i normally do so i figured i\'d spare everyone and just went home. the weather was kind of shitty so i\'m kind of glad i went home.
-
Thanky thanky!
-
i agree

i\'m pretty sure the general consensus on jake\'s was 2-1-3.
i also think this daniel street show topped jake\'s 2.
my $.02.
:that:

Remember how Jake\'s got better every week?!?

i wasn\'t there, but just listening to this it doesn\'t seem as musically impressive as the jakes shows... am i wrong or am i just biased b/c i loved the jakes experience?
No you are not wrong but it is the first foray into the acoustic realm for this line-up.
I suspect the next time will be more akin to the Jake\'s shows.

Thank You Dave!!!

unfortunately not all of us live in CT. Fortunately for us there is Dave Peck. Thanks mang!
Exactly! Sounds intriguing, all this laughing??
-
i\'ve literally laughed out loud several times today at work listening to this! **** yeah! hehehe.
-
Thanks Dave!!

jsut listening (thanks for taping!) and i HATE how they come to basically a complete stop right in the middle of dig as they transition into solos. kills the dancy, fun vibe. i was dancing to the tune at lion\'s den w/ my buddy and they stopped and it killed the feel.
-
i have never laughed so hard at any show. 2nd set was def. too much to remember at the time. thanks dave for letting me re-live it.
wiiiiiyyyyyyyyyoooooooooooooooo!!!!

don\'t know what they\'re called but he had the sticks that are actually like 5 small sticks taped together for the majority of the show. He used the smaller gold jazz kit with a congo just off to the right of the floor tom and he had the small tambourine on top of the high hat. One of the cymbols also had a large cut in it giving a nice delay tone. That\'s the best I could see.
those sticks are hotrods (well thats the most popular brand). thanks for the info.

what type of setup does adrian typically use for these shows? does he use his entire set, does he use hand percussion sometimes, does he use brushes/hotrods?
