Not a terrible list. I would expect much worse from RS, heh.

then, once you\'ve gotten a taste, check out his astounding fusion-era stuff! i\'ve always thought b\'fast could do a killer highway jam! especially now that matt\'s around! ...

I\'m going to go right to the fusion stuff, that\'s what he was doing last night when I tuned in and it was very cool.

Anyone know who his female bass player is?  ... and she looks like that chick from "Slums of Beverly Hills"

beck\'s bassist:  http://www.talwilkenfeld.com/Tal.html

clapton and winwood are gonna be in nyc next year, just so ya know!

Quote
Clapton, Winwood Keep The Faith For MSG Shows
Eric Clapton
November 13, 2007, 2:10 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
After a rare on-stage reunion at the Crossroads Guitar Festival in July, former Blind Faith mates Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood will team for three shows early next year at New York\'s Madison Square Garden.

The pair will play Feb. 25, 26 and 28; tickets went on sale yesterday (Nov. 12) via Ticketmaster. Blind Faith played MSG July 12, 1969, on what turned out to be its only tour.

According to a statement, plans are not yet set for the show\'s set list, which will be determined after Clapton and Winwood rehearse.

Meanwhile, Winwood is now signed to Columbia and will release an as-yet-untitled new album early next year. The project will be his first solo release since 2003\'s "About Time," released on his own Wincraft Music imprint.

That Crossroads last night was pretty cool, sadly I missed Mr. Beck and had to turn away when John Mayer was playing.

Steve Winwood was so on I couldn\'t believe it-the old Traffic-Dominoes-Blind Faith type stuff was such a gas!

that was from the crossroads festival. just about every big name badass guitarist around was there. all i\'ve been hearing are raves from the broadcast/dvd. folks who were there seemed duly impressed, too!

and shame on you for ignoring jeff beck so long! listen to his early rock and roll stuff and some of his more recent. then, once you\'ve gotten a taste, check out his astounding fusion-era stuff! i\'ve always thought b\'fast could do a killer highway jam! especially now that matt\'s around!

fwiw, my first arena concert was srv & jeff beck together in 89. MINDBLOWINGLY PHENOMENAL show! it was just really sad watching the majority of the crowd stream out after stevie\'s set, solely because beck didn\'t come out with foot stomping blues to open the set and was pimping an at-times-expierimental album, guitar shop. i loved guitar shop (and still do) so i thought they were all morons! then srv came out and they destroyed i\'m going down together and the few of us left had to scrape our jaws off the floor....

No John Coltrane Live at Birdland?

i wouldn\'t expect RS to include a Jazz album.

But they should have included Derek & the Domino\'s Live from the Fillmore - clapton sets the gold standard for jamband guitar on this album.

Speaking of Clapton, PBS showed a recent Clapton concert last night... something Crossroad.  I tuned in during a ripping Jeff Beck jam.  Never paid much attention to him, but I will now.  Crazy ass playing

What about You Can\'t Do That On Stage Anymore?!

Daft Punk may be the next coming of God, but I am surprised to see that album on there simply because it just came out.  Rolling Stone blows anyways.  The ONLY thing that gave that magazine ANY credibility was Hunter Thompson.  Nowadays it is a bunch of mainstream teat-sucking tools trying to claim some kind of "cool authority," simultaneously bashing and promoting the same music without every actually giving a **** about anything except the $$.  Not to mention that all of their political writers desperately try to be HST, and of course come up wayyyy short.  They are always making retarted lists too.  They should do a list of "100 Gheyest Periodicals" and put themselves at the top

not that i think its overly amazing or anything, but im really confused as to why rolling stone wouldnt put "Frampton Comes Alive" on there.  i think its one of/the best selling live album of all time.

i own or have owned twelve of those and have heard all of them. only because i think daft punk is boring, i disagree with that one. i know some people swear they are the next coming of god, but to me, meh. other than that, though, its a pretty good list. i\'m also happily surprised to not see frampton comes alive! just becauise things sell doesn\'t necessarily mean they\'re any good! live at leeds is probably my favorite of those. well, after band of gypsies, of course...

as for albums not on there, i think jerry joseph\'s mouthful of copper is incredible (mixed by betty cantor!) and widespread panic\'s light fuse, get away is always a fave. of course, neither of those are mainstream enough to actually be considered for this list, but mouthful should be in everyone\'s live disc collection, imho.

I read through their list and thought it looked pretty good. I own eleven of these albums but the rest I\'ve never heard before. Thoughts? Any albums you would have included/removed? Keep in mind this list consists of main stream bands, so don\'t say a live album by some band most people haven\'t heard of deserves to be on this list.
