ha, I wonder how many people walk into class day one expecting to see an old bearded bobby sitting behind the desk making coeds extremely uncomfortable due to the unnecessary amount of thigh visible to all.

I recently heard UMass is creating a Grateful Dead course.

Paul there are a few people in this symposium that had a lot to do with the band in a direct manner.
Dan Healy- FOH Sound Engineer for most of the 70\'s,all of the 80\'s and into the 90\'s.  all those crazy effects on Bob\'s voice= Healy
Dennis McNally-Publicist that had direct access to each and every band member. Privy to stories no one else but band members are.
Bob Bralove- Actually a band member in a sense in the late 80\'s and 90\'s due to his heavy influence in midi exploration and actually provided midi sounds for Jerry to play.
Infrared Roses was his baby.

A good recent article letting us know what he is up to.

Pretty cool. He is also the FOH Sound Engineer for TLG as his schedule permits for Bay Area gigs. I have had some pretty neat conversations with him at a few TLG setbreaks.

They should hold class in the basement of butterfield.

This may sound strange, but I was thinking it should be a seminar in Butterfield.

Maybe professor Wolfman will hold the Breakfast course in there.

The Breakfast shoulda put together something near it definitely, old Deadheads are not  bad fans to have.

ok, so how many of us are going to drop $300 to hang out at umass and listen to a bunch of people who don\'t actually have anything to do with the band? Well, yea, probably a few. But more importantly, dark star is playing on the 17th. There are going to be 400 someodd rich hippies with nothing better to do and probably some other middle class ones on the fringes at umass next weekend. I know it\'s not much time, but if the band could get a gig somewhere up there on sat or sunday, afternoon, evening, whatever they would probably be able to pull some fans off of this thing. :chin:

That said, stone church friday!
