So, now that the band is a quartet again, do you think that it\'s possible that they might ever cover Echoes.  I remember suggesting it to Adrian one night when he, Paul and I were driving up to Boston and he was like "don\'t hold your breath".  I think that it would be a good cover and useful as an encore as PF did on at least one tour.

on the original list for Frank Zappa covers missing is \'Duodemum\' (Lumpy Gravy) which they usually segue into \'Surfin\' Bird\', \'Eat That Question\', and \'Mystery Roach\' were missing too, there also may have once been a "Watermelon in East Hay a while back...forgot if it was listed for Hendrix but I remeber an instrumental \'Little Wing\' at the first Foughoulish Freakout. Plus, on the Chili Peps list missing was \'Boys in the Hood\' usually before \'Special Secret Song\', (DAVE help me here) is that a even a RHCP tune??? I only have it on the Psychedelic Sexfunk video.

\'Sexy Ways\' is a Funkadelic tune which they\'re playng a lot of.
\'I Like Marijuana\' has also been covered and is by David Peel & the Lower East Side and \'Bulls on Parade\' by Rage (2nd F.F.) \'Peace Frog\'-Doors is missing.  ...did this list include teases and jams of songs as well as diesel experiments and other side projects? seems like it.  I remeber the \'**** Jollies\' riff insereted into a \'Merge\' jam possibly at Toad\'s but NOT the whole song.  PB did a complete \'Scentless Apprentice\' at something other than a diesel experiment?? interesting.  I thought \'The Chicken\' was Jaco Pastorious?

Story behind PB playing Recycle Now is quite interesting.  I booked PB and Uncle Sammy to play at my school and the night of the show a huge snowstorm erupted in Vermont.  PB showed up on time but 3 out of the 4 members of Uncle Sammy didn\'t, only Max Delaney was present.  Now Uncle Sammy was scheduled to open up but because their tardiness I had PB play a quick opening set.  The boys felt bad about Max and asked him to jam on Score and for the **** of it the boys played Recycled Now.

Don\'t forget about Rage Against the Machine\'s "Freedom".
PFunk is a legit category considering the songs PB plays are both funkadelic and Parliament songs.

Thanx for jumping on everyone. It\'s nice to have this info easily available instead of having to drudge through lists. My hope is that some of you who have access to the "Breakfast Table"
might find a nugget forgotten and remind the guys to bust. I do not know how this list will get updated but it seems Joe has the right idea so the list is always last post, yet again easy access.

Oh yeah Wolf, I edited original post AFTER Drew\'s post.  He was right the funk was missin\'

Nice list Leith!

RHCP and Funkadelic are in there already, Drew, read carefully!

Missing from list off the top of my head:

Magic Fingers (Zappa)
Special Secret Song Inside (RHCP)
Bouree (Jethro Tull)
Eat That Phonebook Coda (Gong)
Miles Beyond (Miles Davis)
The Chicken (Pee Wee Ellis)

And from the "grey area" department, the song "Ahhh...the Name is Breakfast, Baby" is nothing more than the song "Ahhh...the name is Bootsy, Baby" by Bootsy Collins, with the word "Breakfast" replacing "Bootsy".  I count it as a cover.

Where\'s the funk?

PFUNK (or whatever else George Clinton is calling his band at any given moment) covers:

Mommy, What\'s a Funkadelic?
Night of the Thumposaurus Peoples
Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof of This Sucker)
Let\'s Make It Last

That\'s all that I can think of without going through every setlist; there are definitely some others.

Also:

RHCP

One Big Mob
Stone Cold Bush
Warped
Funky Monks (I think...)

Also, maybe one of the old school \'Staven crew can answer this:

I\'ve noticed the song "PMDTV" on some early setlists.  Is this an obvious abbreviation that I\'m just not recognizing, or have I dug up a genuine PB fossil?
