The Daniel St. show was used for the Fall promos. I\'m currently using:

2008-02-07 Plains, PA [Set II]

1. The Sound >
2. May Fly Disarray
3. Psygn
4. Silvia >
5. The Grand Scheme of Things

Just give me a heads up on the promos so I can make sure they get to you on time.

Anyone on the Mid-West/West Coast tour want promos?

Once the tour gets a bit closer, I might take you up on the offer.  I\'m pretty sure I burned between 200-300 disks for the 2006 spring tour, though I am likely to make the commitment this time around.  I can reimburse you for the disks/postage.  I\'ll be in contact wit cha.

What tunes are currently on the sampler?  Edit: just noticed you are using some tunes from the fall.

2007-09-14 Daniel St. is fantastic. For the fall promos I used the following songs:

1. Great Big Fiery Ball In The Sky >
2. Space Oddity >
3. Rufus
4. Honey Butter >
5. Hard Luck Harry >
6. Honey Butter >
7. Hard Luck Harry

If you have the ability to do an \'over-burn\' use this group of songs. If not, get rid of track 4 and you should be fine (it\'s just a Honey Butter intro tease anyways).

I\'ve been pushing the b-fast at work for a while now, and a couple of guys who used to like the dead are asking for some demo stuff.

can anyone recomend a good mix/concert to give them?

That\'s pretty cool DW. I think it\'s a great idea to mix it up and go with rotating backgrounds for each show. It\'s def a nice change up from the Moxie Epoxy flyers.

I just stocked up on 200 cdr and 200 cases this past weekend so if anyone on the MidWest/West coast tour needs some promos let me know. Let\'s keep the wheels rollin\'!

Wasn\'t the breakfast invited to play there a few years ago? I figured that since they pwn music everywhere they\'d be invited to play again.

Are you planning on making a new sampler disc for the new lineup?  That last package you sent me was a great, and they all got passed out up at a great music shop and I did notice alot of new faces at the last iron horse show, so maybe it worked.  I\'m gonna be there again in a month for moe. and could def. pass a bunch out there if you have anymore hanging around

Yeah, that was the plan. I used most of the slim cases/cdrs to make 50 Zone 1 discs for the merch table to sell. They will be arriving at River Street this Thursday. However, I plan on buying another couple hundred slim cases/cdrs/sticker labels this weekend to put towards the Spring shows. As soon as a new band promo picture gets on .info I can make you another batch of 50 if you want. I just need to get some done for the upcoming Syracuse show beforehand. Let me know when the moe. show is so I can have them to you on time.

it\'s the first weekend of March, and the boys are playing the iron horse about a month later so it is kind of early to do promo for that show, but definetly can still help out, + just getting the music in the right people\'s hands can help for future shows.  Thanks again, it\'s a big help.

Promotion for the NYE run is just under way. We wanted to get an idea of all volunteers and mailings will be out soon. As far as promo at the EC, I believe Zee has it all under control. I don\'t think we need to send discs but I will double check with the powers that be. Last I knew, Zee had no worries about the place being packed for NYE.

Good news broseph! Let me know if you need promos made up.

12-08 Asbury Park, NJ
12-13 Plains, PA
12-21 Cambridge, MA
12-29 New Haven, CT
12-31 Utica, NY

Does anyone want promo discs for any of these? It might be a little late for Asbury Park but if there is a good promo opportunity going on later this week I could get something in the mail tomorrow. I\'m not sure if we have anyone in/near Plains, PA so besides this show we should really make an effort to get a lot of promo done for the MA, CT and NY shows at the end of the month.

I replied to an email early last month about promoting the Utica show but have not received anything back in response. What group efforts are going on to promote this? Would it make sense to mail Zee promo discs to hand out to people attending the Ryan Montbleau Band show at the Electric Company on 12.29? Since it\'s only 2 days before the breakfast new years show it would be ideal to give everyone in attendance a promo disc. If promotion for this show is still in limbo let\'s get the ball rolling and make sure this place is packed to capacity new years eve.

Boozetravlr/anyone who might know: I imported the disc you sent me into itunes (I have a mac and don\'t know if I have any other disc burning software on my computer.) Unfortunately according to my computer the whole thing can\'t be burnt onto one disc. This doesn\'t make much sense to me seeing as the cd I am trying to burn to is the same length/size as the original one that was sent to me.

Help? Maybe download some other software or something?

The disc I sent you is about 80:30 in length. The program I use (Roxio) allows me to overburn discs up to 82:10 in length. I am pretty sure it came installed on my computer so I have no idea if they offer this program for free on the internet. If no one else can help you i would suggest that you drop the initial Honey Butter track since it is only 30 seconds long.

2. Space Oddity >
3. Rufus
4. Honey Butter >
5. Hard Luck Harry >
6. Honey Butter >
7. Hard Luck Harry

Can this selection be made downloadable somehow (not bittorrent)? i would like to always have a bunch of copies on hand, in my car or whatever, to give to people.

I\'ll most likely stick with the same song selections from the Daniel Street show on 2007-09-14. However, I made a disc of songs from the Northampton show on 2007-10-26 that would probably work really well for a promo:

1. Jam >
2. Wake Up In A Coma >
3. Jam >
4. Tunage
5. Future Peek
6. Surreal Radio
7. The Late And The Great >
8. Over Exposure

I\'ll take some.

Weekapaug I got DT Northampton covered bro.. and I\'m keepin tabs on it so its heavily posted until the 26th. If you wanna hit colleges or Amherst we would be gettin some max coverage.

I\'m not doing hand outs or promo discs its just not my style to get in ppl\'s faces and hand them junk they probably don\'t want.

sounds good.  I\'m gonna try to get some cd\'s to the music store at the mall there in hadley (I think, it\'s on rt 9).  I think the owner is big into local bands/independent labels so he probably will not have a problem with handing some out.  I\'ll try to hit up Amherst too then

I\'m looking for a few people willing to distribute passes for Toad\'s at gas stations, package stores, music stores, deli\'s, etc. Wherever they will let you. (always ask first) I have been working the Madison/ Guilford/ Branford/ North Branford area. I\'m looking for people willing to do as many other areas as possible. If you\'re interested, pm me and I can either meet up with you or mail them to you.

People should know that something special is going to happen in Vermont but I don\'t think they need to know exactly what. Rumors are better, they entice people and make them think of all the possibilities.

let it be a surprise for a few people at least. . I woulda been so stoked if I had no idea and they busted it out. I really doubt it is going to increase the draw if announced anyway and might even turn some folks off.

I don\'t think that announcing they are playing Lawn Boy in Vermont is going to persuade a lot of people. We have a lot of grassroots going out for the Higher Ground. I can already hear the critics about this.

I will talk to Tim and see what the bands idea is.

an offical theme announcement very soon would help the promtion alot I feel.  A blurb on jambands.com with the theme will help promotion

Read the rumors thread about how there is NO THEME for this years Freakout.

whatever. this is **** that shouldn\'t be kept a .info secret.

I already disclosed it in the rumor thread. I didn\'t think I needed to disclose it again.

So, here is the down-low.

No theme for the Freakout.

Lawn Boy will be the only album covered during the run.

i know this.

.info secret = something that only .info knows about.

I understood what you were stating after I read this. Sorry.

You are right, people need to know and I don\'t know if the band is going to announce anything formally.

If anybody who is personal friends with the band can/thinks they should annouce this, please try to talk them into it.  People are not going to show up who aren\'t already planning on going if they don\'t know what maddness is going to go down that night.  They don\'t have to say which cd will be covered, just hint as to what band it will be or something.

who knows, maybe no cd will be covered, but the "buzz" will get people to go.

but those are just my thoughts and trying to help...who knows, maybe that is a bad idea, i\'m not a marketing kinda person.

There might not be a theme per say, but they will be covering an entire album for a set each night of the three night run. To me, thats cooler than a theme anyways.

well that\'s a theme to me...announce the entire album cover for the three night run if it\'s really gonna happen, that would get me out to the shows if I was borderline (which i\'m not).  If it\'s gonna be lawn boy in burlington, make up some crafty announcement that the cd they are gonna cover is from a well known local band or something like that.  People aren\'t gonna show up if they don\'t know about it.

I agree and the band needs to be the one to let it out for their run. I only inform .info.

Anyone around Northampton or Bulington still need promo discs?

If you have some, I can make a trip up to NoHo and try to get the music store to hand them out or let people take one if they feel like it.  I\'m planning on going up there to hang up some flyers around NoHo/Amherst/ZooMass

it could help if you double sided the fliers to have the music store info on the back

good work, booztravlr.

We can use all the help we can get for any of these shows. Currently we are working out a situation where people doing promos will receive CD samplers and special unreleased DVDs.

We do need help with the Freakout run and any other shows.

As I recently did promotion at the Syracuse Raq show, so can you!

Raq is playing:

09/20/07 The Miramar Theatre Milwaukee, WI [raq]

09/21/07 Cabooze Minneapolis, MN [raq]

09/22/07 Martyrs\' Chicago, IL [raq]

Same three cities, one week before the Breakfast play there.

09/27/07 Kinetic Playground Chicago, IL [tb]

09/28/07 The Broken Axe Moorhead, MN [tb]

09/29/07 Rathskellar/Terrace @ University of Wisconsin Madison, WI [tb]

Raq\'s tour continues out west and makes a U-turn towards CO where they play:

10/11/07 Fox Theatre Boulder, CO [raq]

10/12/07 Cervantes\' Masterpiece Denver, CO [raq]

10/13/07 Aggie Theatre Fort Collins, CO [raq]

Again, the same three cities, one week before the Breakfast play there.

10/18/07 Trilogy Lounge Boulder, CO [tb]

10/19/07 Hodi\'s Half Note Fort Collins, CO [tb]

10/20/07 Quixote\'s True Blue Denver, CO [tb]

If any promotion can be done in these cities, these are the shows you should be doing it at! I\'m sending Vasillios 50 promos discs for the Boulder show, which then leaves 5 shows that need promo. Since it\'s too late for me to make and mail out promo discs for the mid-West run, go to the Raq shows and pass out tons of flyers. Introduce yourself to Raq\'s management/band members and try to work some connections.

Raq and the Breakfast are playing different venues in each of the 5 cities [Moorhead and Minneapolis are the only different cities]. With their combined powers they could be playing bigger venues on their next trips out West. However, this is all just wishful thinking until someone does something about it.

Post by: booztravlr on September 07, 2007, 12:17:06 am
Hey everybody. I just purchased 300 cdr/cases/labels for promotion this fall. The midwest run is in a couple weeks and I\'m pretty booked until then so I will be unable to help promote that run. However, I can start helping out with the Colorado and Fonghoulish Freakout runs in October. These are very important runs and if successful they will pay huge dividends for the band.

I went to a local Raq show tonight and passed out ~35 promo discs. I gave the remaining ~15 to Dan (Syracuse promoter) to hand out at the late night Raq show. People seemed excited to see the breakfast coming back to town and some even recognized my samplers as I did them in February and April for what I labeled Winter and Spring Samplers 2007. The word is getting out and the only way to keep the wheels spinning is to promote the **** out of this band.

I spoke with Raq\'s manager/merch guy (Justin). I couldnt\' tell if he was both or not. Anyways, he said one of Raq\'s band members was all about the breakfast. I told him numerous times that these two bands need to hook up and do a tour together. He seemed to like the idea so hopefully it makes it way to the band. Raq will be in New Haven at Toad\'s Place tomorrow night. For any of you not going to Naragansett def go check these guys out.

So, finally, to my point. If you are in an area where the breakfast will be playing in the near future get in contact with me. I will put together 50 promo discs and mail them to you. I am using slim cases with show info/flyer stickers on the front and track listing, band pic, .info website address stickers on the back. They look pretty classy for free promos. I chose to use the Phan Phest set for the Fall Sampler as it showcases a well played show and also fits nicely on a single disc. Send me a PM if you are interested. If you\'ve read this far you\'ve already commited yourself to passing out promos.
