well some of you are wrong and some of you are right.
how about that!
-
I would much rather hear HFT that Jump but I could certainly do without both of them
-
Van Halen covers can be likened to fat chicks and mopeds...
fun to ride but don\'t let your friends see you on one.......

I\'m all for them never playing a Van Halen song again(unless its Ain\'t Talkin\' bout Love).
Right with you.
Personally, I can do without Van Halen and their songs. Be as it may, it is what it is.

Jump was rough.
Perhaps if they play it few times it could be better but the song is LAME. It was a LAME Van Halen song in 1984 and it is still lame now.
The rendition at Toad\'s was sloppy and the band definitely wasn\'t taking it very seriously. Matt forgot to lean in to his mic to sing in many parts. It was what it was, some comic relief IMHO.
The album 1984 has some good tunes on it but if they wanted to highlight the keys they should have played "I\'ll Wait"
1984
Jump
Panama
Top Jimmy
Drop Dead Legs
Hot For Teacher
I\'ll Wait
Girl Gone Bad
House Of Pain
Bolded = decent cover tune potential
-
hot for teacher=worst cover ever (the vocal are brutal in that song). The drum/guitar into is the only thing good about it.
-
I don\'t know what you guys are talking about. Hot For Teacher is the ****.... Jump was meh, fun to watch but i don\'t know... tooo 80\'s for me
that\'s what i was thinking. i wasnt there but jump didnt seem more than a fun cover song to play with striker on lead with the keys. they rip up hot for teacher every time they play that tune.

Jump is fun to hear. Much better cover than Hot for Teacher and it is killer to hear those keyboard riffs. It\'s funny I was blasting the show and my buddy who was in another room later was like \'I was pretty sure it was The Breakfast because of the guitar but they were playing Van Halen and ripping it so I wasn\'t sure if it was live Van Halen or not\'. I am sure he would not have been fooled as such by their cover of Hot for Teacher.

Hot for Teacher , on the other hand, I can do without

Thank you Dave. Stellar recording. Matt\'s contributions to the band are incredible. If this is how they sound now, I can\'t wait for five weeks from now on the Midwest run in September. :D:thumbsup::thumbsup::D

-
:running home to get this show:
you freakin\' rock Dave!!
-
yeah I spoke too soon
thanks Dave seriously today I was thinking, since I missed the show, "wouldn\'t it be sweet if it was already up there today and I could listen to it after work" which would be an astounding turnaround.
But for some reason I had the feeling if Dave Peck had anything to do with the taping and transferring it would alreay be up there!
-

-
I can\'t wait to hear this again!!! thanks DP :D
-
