who the F knows
-
Does Sim pull a good crowd out there?
-
they will blow sim out of the water guaranteed. hopefully management and fans will take notice.
-
It was an interesting ride home but I made it.
I figure the Rochester show would be a good place to test out some songs as their set will be short and all. Garbage plates and Genny beer, shaping up to be a good one. I just need to get out of my house as quickly as possible when I get back from work or I\'m going to crash hard.
whatever you do, don\'t crash until the end of the weekend or it\'ll be over.
have fun tonight, broseph.

^ No kidding. I don\'t even plan on sticking around for them.
I\'m pulling for a Garcian tonight but that\'s about as sorry chip as it gets.
good to know you made it back alright.
Was thinking about Garcian yesterday during the ride up. Perhaps it is possible if Striker knows the tune. If not, they should just wing it.

**** it. after last nights show, it amazes how they are opening for a band who is not even going to be able to hold their jocks musically.
Unreal.
zeits se hwee.

Bump for tonight.
DO IT!

and NOW the red square date is listed on crescendo.. oy vey..
guess we\'ll just have to wait a little bit longer to find out what\'s up...
-
word.... i mean albany > cuse > roch or vice versa would obviously make more sense than albany > roch > cuse, but whatever, it\'s just I-90, nothing to be afraid of :) I shouldn\'t say 9/20 is "off," not like I have any clue.... just mentioning that red square took them off their website, but jambase still has it listed. Reminds me of when Ticketmaster has a new show listed in the morning, then you go back there at night and it\'s gone, and you wonder if the show is still gonna happen. Whatever, regardless I\'m pumped for the NEXT Breakfast show I will be seeing which is Utica. (But looking ahead is fun too)
-
ok..... well 9/20 is off but 9/22 at Mezzanotte is on!!

I am heading over to Tim\'s in about a 1/2 hour, once I get out of work, I will find out what the plan is and try to get some finalized dates.

nicely done bill. a stop at the mezzanotte on sat, 22nd would be ideal. little falls doesn\'t seem too far off either since they havent been there since jordans last show.
I don\'t think we are allowed back at Beardslee :inky:

well played, derickw.

isn\'t the idea of a bar made from materials recovered from a church a little sacrilegious......
 the Playwright restaurant/pub in New Haven is made from Irish churches... the wood & windows were shipped over from Ireland - at least I can say I\'ve been to church when I eat/drink there! ;)
thats why i go to New Market, NH

um...:hscratch:
The 20 foot, spacious bar came from an old church...
 I think they mean the material used for the bar (where you put your drinks) not the actual bar
but your explanation still implies that the church had a bar in it.
Can I have the blood of christ on the rocks? Put it on my tab.
hey is the kitchen still open? i could go for some christcakes.....

It should be a great weekend.
-
this show falls on brittany\'s bday so we will def make the trip out for this one. might have to do a drive bye since she has to work at 7:00am the next morning. hopefully an ithaca or cuse show pops up the same weekend.
i\'ve seen a bunch of shows at the main stage; moe, mmw, sts9, bela flek, steve kimock, derek trucks. but ive never been to the club side before. website makes it sound like a cool venue with the balcony.
-
it looks like a nice little room.
-
almost sounds like a mini Rev Hall
-
The Club at the Water Street is approximately 2200 sq. feet of open space with a multi-tiered balcony that wraps around the room. It is a unique room offering an intimate setting of standing room or table seating. The 20 foot, spacious bar came from an old church and offers a view of the stage, while the back of the room has a hot/cold concession stand and espresso bar.
The Club at the Water Street is equipped with projectors and screens for support use from the main room for a live broadcast of that show, slides and/or video or sporting events. Capacity of the club is 350 standing including the balcony space. This room has been freshly remodeled and can be used as a dining area for private parties.
-
The Club might be new. It only holds a couple hundred. I noticed that there were some big acts who played the Main Stage.
-
If this is at the "club" at water st., I have no idea what that\'s about. Maybe they just added it. I didn\'t know this place had two rooms in the same place (a la higher ground). I saw The New Deal at the "main stage" at Water Street Music Hall in 03 and 05 and I had a blast. Great sound, and you can get really close to the band.
-
Interesting.
Have never been to this venue but I understand this is the smaller club of the two. Anyone seen a show at Water Street?
-
saw sim redmond open for moe. back in 01.... wasn\'t that impressed. Wish they were opening for b-fast, but whatever. Water st. is a cool venue, maybe I\'ll go anyway. And yes, mezzanotte on 9/22 would be SUUUUUweeet
-
This show must be the meat of an Ithaca Seracuse sandwich...... no?
Cool to see a Rochester gig though....I don\'t ever remember them playing there....
pretty lame they are opening for sim redmond tho
-
from the water street site:
The Sim Redmond Band\'s airy, bouncing root/ afro-Carribe/ reggae music comes together in a colorful almost dreamy sound. Their music oozes over your brain like a comforting blanket, with its sunny sound and earthy rhythms. Bubbling bass and drums will put you in a trance while sparkling guitar opens your mind to the peaceful ambiance the Sim Redmond Band creates. This Ithaca, NY-based band may feature the worldly sounds of West and South Africa but vocally they have a folk sound that explores truth, dreams and love.
-
Has anyone ever seen / know about this Sim Redmond?
