Central Jersey has a killer scene (ween, Sound of Urchin, Chris Harford, Amandla). There\'s no comparison. The CT music scene died in the late 70\'s early 80\'s.

2.51 a gallon yesterday afternoon. It\'s bound to be under $2.50 when I get home tonight.
-
I believe it is a front and a hoax. West Haven doesn\'t need anymore rats.
-
my friend who is a salesman for a liquor distributor has a lot of west haven and many places along boston post rd and the beaches, like capt. galley as his accounts and noone knows nothing about this place or has heard any rumors about its opening. wonder where the address is
-
ahhh, i live in RI and i never swim in salt water anyways. i was just looking a new on yahoo and saw that as a main heading article and thought it was kind of funny

Going back to beaches again since Im going today..Ill take the Jersey Shore over Long Island sound no contest for me.
-
2.60 for a gallon of regular today. I\'m 20 minutes out of the city, so it\'s bound to be cheaper in other parts of the state.
-
And our gas is 10-20 cents a gallon more...because of taxes.
-
touche sir.
-
Yeah but CT makes up for the tolls by making you pay a car tax. Not in jersey
-
Same here, no harm meant
The thing i was getting at about the jersey turnpike was that it sucks you have to pay to drive on it...or even to get to jersey from ct
its nice that you don\'t have to pay any tolls in ct whatsoever
thats all
peace and love surrounding me brah

profiling = :yay:
Jerz is ok in my book!
-
From Henry Hill to arguments about whether CT or NJ is better. This thread is good!
-
No biggie. Like I said earlier in the thread, I lived in CT for 7 years and constantly heard the armpit of armerica/dirty jersey comments. It\'s only normal to be protective of where you are from.
-
It\'s personal opinion on which state is WAY better. I\'ve lived in both, but I\'m staying in Jersey.
As for Superfund Sites - CT has it\'s fair share, plus NJ is just a little more densly populated.
CT Cops profile as well, it may not be racially, but ask the cops who pulled me over and searched my car on numerous occasions for having out of state plates. Last time I checked that was also profiling.
But basically you\'re saying that in order to live in a good state, it needs to appear to have no crime, appear to have no pollution, make more money than anyone else (which wouldn\'t be the case if you took out Fairfield county) and be a haven for crunchy granola hippies. I know that NJ isn\'t the cleanest or the best, but you CT people walk around like your **** don\'t stink! I\'m not trying to make this a NJ vs. CT thing, but to trash Jersey because you\'ve seen one or two places and look at the financial and eco statistics - that\'s just ignorant.
Wow someone gets sensitive when people make fun of NJ.
I was just busting balls. I grew up in CT and live in NY now. Some of my closest friends are from NJ. The stereotypes are just that but there is truth to it as with all stereotypes.
Didn\'t mean to get your panties all twisted up, sorry.
-
OMG people can we please drop it and get back to Henry Hill and his egg noodles and catsup.

CT is way better than Jersey
New Jersey has more superfund sites then any other state.
Camden.
Newark
Trenton
Jeresy City
Oh and NJ State Troopers and their BS racial profiling
nuff\' Said
CT has the highest per capita income in all 50 states last time I checked.
last time I checked Long Island sound was still the Atlantic Ocean. CT just doesn\'t have any waves.
Oh and CT isn\'t the mecca of quaffed hair and IROC-Z\'s like NJ.
-
Ketchup and noodles for everyone!!
-
Henry Hill is a rat and a piece of ****.
-
Yes - it\'s a highway that goes north and south. I do believe that CT has those as well and even some that go east and west.
What\'s your point. We\'ve got factories off of our turnpike and so do you. I lived in your lovely state for 8 years and know all of the wonders of CT. My point being that NJ may not be the cleanest state or the state with the most to do, but CT isn\'t all that great either.
There are good things to do in both states, but you out-of-towners don\'t only see Newark and the Turnpike, so let\'s drop the armpit of america **** until you\'ve give the WHOLE state a once over.
Connecticut may be part of snotty New England, but remember that you are ALSO part of the Tri-State Area, which means that you\'re just as bad as New York and New Jersey!
-
Two Words: Jersey Turnpike
-
Jerseyites and CTers arguring about whose state is scummier is like the special olympics (you fill in the blank).
-
Right and what does CT have:
No real beaches
No ocean, just the Long Island Sound
Old blue law that make no sense
Martha Stewarts sweat shops
So basically to sum it up in two words, EAT ME!
-
New Jersey is the armpit of America
enough said.
-
This is right across from UNH...
he just workin those teeth in that video...
-
CT and I hate it.
-
 and, where do u live, joe?
-
I agree with you 100% man. It\'s more so the type of people that populate each state that gives off the odorous reputation.
-
Sorry about that, but it\'s a reflex thing for me. For the seven years I lived in New Haven, all I heard was dirty jersey, dirty jersey. 90% of that pov comes from the fact that the only thing that people see from NJ is Newark Airport and the other 10% is the Jersey Shore, which is constantly polluted by NY dumping sewage and garbage into the ocean and out of towners that come down the shore to vacation and don\'t care to pick up after themselves, not to mention some of the not so classy bennies. That being said - Connecticut isn\'t much better.
-
wasn\'t henry hill put into the witness protection program?
He was also arrested for selling lots of E back in the late 90\'s. This guy\'s public reputation has to be the sole reason he isn\'t behind bars.
Yoda, relax man it was a joke. I could give two **** about Jersey, or its shore. Hence the "I Have no **** clue" remark on the bottom of the page.
-
He was, but I believe that at some point he was kicked out. He\'s more in the public eye now because everyone that he testified against is dead.

If you knew Asbury Park at all, you\'d know it\'s not a guido town at all. Asbury has been really ghetto for the past 15-20 years. That being said - some high power developers have gotten involved and are trying to revitalize the city. They have opened up some nice restaurants, but people are still a little hesitant on spending and time there. If all you know of the city is The Stone Pony or The Saint, then you need to take a drive around the rest of the city and open your eyes.
If you want guidos go down to Belmar and stop in at DeeJays or continue on to Seaside Heights. Or you could just stay in New Haven County

Henry Hill is crazy. Anybody listen to Stern? He\'s part of the wack pack

-
It was originally supposed to be called Henry Hill\'s Goodfellas and be located in New Haven. Apparently him and his goombahs didn\'t do their research or the writer of this article (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=philbrick/070727) (published a week ago) didn\'t do his research seeing as there already is a Goodfellas in New Haven.
Hill sells his art on eBay, he\'s opening a restaurant in New Haven, Conn., called Henry Hill\'s Goodfellas and his tomato sauce, Henry Hill\'s Sunday Gravy, will be for sale at stores and on the Internet in August.
How long ago were those video interviews (didnt watch either)?
-
wonder if we get to taste the sauce he was making in Goodfellas
Any idea when this said restaurant opens?
-
West Haven is the new Asbury Park.....
I have no **** clue.
-
Can\'t watch the videos but thats interesting. I wonder why West Haven.
-
Henry Hill, the man Ray Liotta\'s charachter was based on in Goodfellas, is opening up a restaraunt in West Haven. It\'s called Henry Hill\'s Wiseguys. Here\'s a youtube video of him talking about it.
