Title: up date on the breakfast bike-a-thon
Post by: casinokid on July 26, 2007, 10:44:50 am
Go-peds, mo-peds, skateboards, are allowed on the breakfast bike-a-thon, as well as any type of bicycle.  I know some of the fans are not so physically fit, and it would be nice to get as many involved.
First, participants will need to sign a form stating if they get injured on the ride, they cannot sue the band. That is most important!!
Second, each rider raises money for the band on the ride to each venue, if they raise $100.00 bucks, free admission to the show, and maybe they can help the guys carry in equipment!!  One person with a large enough vehicle will have to carry riders belongings.

There can be organized bake sales along the way, to help those in need of an extra lift.
We can try to get red bull to sponsor it!

I know I will bring two vehicles-my bike and my go-ped for those lazy days!!

Ahh just a thought!

You guys should organize a breakfast ride.  Follow the guys on tour via bikes!!!
All proceeds go to the band!!
Ha ha!

I\'d die after the first show. But I\'d buy a moped and do it.

I\'m not sure if that\'s more of a crack on Staven or Jersey.  I\'ll let be on Staven since NJ gets such a bad rap for the most part because the only part of the state people see is Newark.  But as for the armpit comment, I challenge and of you CT people to drive on Route 8 in the valley with you windows open on a hot day - you\'ll be wishing it smelled like NJ!

try coming up to RI right after exit 13..... you\'ll know why everyone drives 80 in a 55

I always assumed it was because they were eager the see the big blue bug.

See, it\'s brilliant marketing ideas like this that would catapult Breakfast popularity worldwide.  Nikki should manage the flippin band.

I must have just missed you guys on Saturday, damn, I wish I knew, I would have had some gatorade for you guys.
Good job-you accomplished something huge.
When all those people road through staven, they must have thought they road past New York right into the arm pit-Jersey!!!!!

Max Heart Rate: 238bpm (definitely wrong)

:wah::wah::wah: Wouldn\'t you be dead?

i believe so. i looked at the chart, and it looks like the HRM was a little kooky right at the beginning of the ride, then fixed itself. looks like my real max was about 181bpm that day..

Congrats and glad you made it!  A great ride for a great cause.   Good to have you guys at the Chez Wolf base camp before the start of the ride.  Get some rest and great work!

P.S.  Those roid-munching pussies over at the Tour De France can eat your shorts!

So, I saw in the other thread that you went through east haven around 2:00pm saturday. I\'m assuming you just went Rt. 1, but there was a pretty decent sized group of riders going through Main St. of Durham around 10:30-11:00am on Saturday, was that you all?

we weren\'t in durham at all, but we did ride right by clark ave around 2:15. we went 142 > dodge > burr > townsend > 1.

Tri state was a blast. Some ugh moments to be sure, but a really great ride overall for a great cause. Here are my cell pictures from the road (http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r44/paulryan01/TST2007/?start=all) and some of daves (http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=12700293&albumId=1446929) (you need a myspace account to see daves).

Dave had his real camera also which obviously has much better quality pictures. However, I didn\'t care if I dropped my old cell phone, so most of these are taken en route. I\'ll write about it later. I have not been to sleep since 5am yesterday except for a little in the car with dave driving back last night and another hour at home before I had to get up for work.
