Wow so back east things are different huh? Here in California if you are in an accident you have to fill out a report. The insurance company will send you one to fill out if the police were not involved already.

I\'ve been rear-ended twice without calling the cops - once with a bit of an injury.  You will be fine.  Call his insurance company immediately and start a claim.  Contact him and tell him that you are reporting it to the insurance company because the repairs will exceed the $100.  Kindy remind him that he should be happy that you didn\'t call the cops so he doesn\'t get any points on his license.  That is what I did.  Both times things were cool, and we got a settlement to pay for my wife\'s chiropractor bills.

:that: but if you took down all the insurance info from the guy that hit you, you might still be able to claim it as an accident?

without a police report?

rujah could say it was a hit and run and he got the dudes plate #. the dude would probably get ****, but he deserves it for screwing rujah over.

screwing rujah over?

it was rujah\'s choice to take the $100 and to not call the cops..

its still a shitty deal and not even close to enough to fix the car. the guy should pay to fix it in addition to the $100. sounds like rujah was clueless and the guy took advantage.

fwiw- you can\'t get Dent Wizard to pull a dent for less than $100, let alone both sides of a car protruding out. My guess is $1400. And I bid low, because I want to go to the showcase.

yeah, im not worried about being injured or anything like that. what I am more cnocerned about is his insurance company paying for the damage. pretty sure it will be more than $100 but I am not sure. Going to get an estimate tomorrow and see what happens from there.

you think that was a bad idea? I mean, if I did I would have been **** since I didn\'t have my license on me?

it\'s a technicality. your license could have been stolen earlier in the day. you are a licensed driver with or without your license on your person, and the accident wasn\'t your fault. now if there\'s any damage >$100 or if either of you end up injured or anything, you\'re likely gonna be screwed.

So yeah, on my way to one of my baseball games today, as I would turning to park into a side street, I was rear ended. I am fine but my brothers\' car now has a decent size dent in the bumper along with both sides pertrude out. I didn\'t call the cops so the guy gave me $100. I wrote all the important **** and took pics of both of our cars, but now I have to deal with this **** and it sucks. Just thought you guys would like to know.

We had a doubleheader today, and it was a good thing I didn\'t get the cop involved because about halfway through the second game I realized I didn\'t even have my license on me. Luckily it wasn\'t that bad and I wasn\'t hurt, but my brother was pissed nonetheless. To make matters worse, we blew a three-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and lost both games, Now, we\'ve lost six in a row and are the worse team in the league even though it doesn\'t really matter since every team makes the playoffs.
