Abbreviations have also annoyed me for most of my life, even from a young age; "mac and cheese" etc.

Dave, even worse: abbreviating a name then adding the \'s to the end.  I\'m sure you\'ve seen this before.  Since Bottega has already been used -> "Bottie\'s".   Dunkin Donuts -> "Dunkie\'s".  Go ahead and puke on that.

Two really bother me: First, my mom says out the full Virginia. Not "virginyah", she says "virginnyah."

But she doesn\'t do that with California, which I don\'t get.

Also, when people talk about their boyfriend or girlfriend and say "my girl" or "my man." I hate that.

I got a full-page memo from a senior associate athletic director on official letterhead because of a small typographical error in our most recent women\'s basketball game program. Mind you, this is from a co-worker (a superior, more accurately) who has my cell number, desk phone number, home phone number and e-mail address. Her office is three doors down from mine and I know her personally.

Had she come to talk to me, I would have taken the blame (though it was actually the printer\'s error) and apologized. Do I now have to write her a letter of apology? What is the protocol here?
