What I don\'t get is that he showed that lady a Russian military rifle the night before the shooting, and she wasn\'t alarmed.

i used to shop at this department store when i lived in omaha. i can\'t believe this happened. my cousin was shopping there and left the store at 1:32pm, the reported shootings occurred at 1:42pm. i am glad she is ok, my heart goes out to those who encountered the gunman.

my brother was working a couple streets over from the mall when this happened. mentioned it was a crazy scene. after that my interest trailed off...

Then again I\'ve mentioned waaaaay too many shot-down look-alikes to friends in my day. At times the lack of support is astonishing. And here you are. I\'m empathetic.

no ****. they posted his actual suicide notes today too. he said he was sorry for putting people through this and that it isn\'t their fault, and that everyone would be better off without him. wellllllll why\'d you have to take out 8 or 9 others along the way? "Now I\'ll be famous." That\'s gotta\' be incredibly hard to hear and read for the families who lost. **** shame.

Because of this tragedy, i\'ve noticed that they have beefed up security at my mall. A trumbull cop now patrols, which they never did before. I think they fear copy cats. its a real shame. The time of day it occured, i assume most likely, the mall was filled with mall workers, elderly, and moms with strollers. thats the usual crowd we get at about 2 pm. This sort of thing makes you feel like you can\'t be safe anywhere.

The beefing up of mall security is ridiculous. They\'re even talking about investing gov\'t dollars in airport-like security at malls in the near future. Makes sense, let\'s just pool up a bunch of people in a line at the front of the mall so, if by chance, another isolated incident like this occurs, it will be quicker and easier to pick off more people in a shorter amount of time. What a joke. This world will always have crazy people that kill for a number reasons, it sucks but it\'s the truth. The reactions to tragedies like this just brings the fools in charge out of the woodwork. Beefing up mall security won\'t do a goddamn thing. Perhaps better gun control is a start? Maybe working on building a mass conscious that isn\'t afraid of everyone else out there? Either way, I\'m going to keep living without fearing for my life. \'Cuz when you\'re afraid while living, aren\'t you already dead?

SkyePrizm, you\'re safer than they tell you. Don\'t give into that bullshit.
