I would recommend every time you want to smoke a cigarrette, just smoke a joint or bowl instead..
Then you won\'t be hurting your health and you\'ll actually get high. But then again, I smoked for like 4 years and quit with no problem at all... I guess things that have no effect on me in terms of getting my krunk on aren\'t really that addictive for me..
I quit cold turkey about 3 years ago. I live with a smoker. I didn\'t have an issue with being physically addicted but I found the hardest points to be at bars etc with all the smokers.
It is 1 of the reasons I started taping. It kept my hands and mind busy and after a while of being in those situations where everyone but me was smoking (I quit when Tobacco Road was still open and you could still smoke inside bars) it wasn\'t really a big deal anymore. I have to say the biggest mental hurdle for me was the fact that i was denying myself something that I liked. No one was tellingme I couldn\'t have them but me so it was kind of like being my own parent. I still think about them and every once in a while I will want to have 1 but I just don\'t.
The green takes the edge off becasue your still smoking, just it isn\'t doing the damage and you are still sticking to your decision not to smoke cigarettes.
So find a hobby at shows etc that will help a lot. Take pictures, become a taper etc etc it really does help and we still party really hard
perhaps, you should start masterbating instead of smoking.
my advise=put down the cigarettes and pick up the crizzle pipe, stat
honestly, i quit smoking a few weeks before the feb 4th knit show. i went to a bunch of shows and the nauseating smell of rank cigarette all over me kept my desire to smoke far away. especially at the ardsley acres after party. i think it all depends why you are quitting thats where you should look for reminders. becoming more active helps as well. i feel like eating well, exercizing, and living a more healthful life is incentive to stay quit.
p.s. after months smoke free, ive been smoking cigs this whole week. im fat and out of shape. i eat too much fried foods and never go to the gym anymore. i am a hypocrite and none of you should listen to anything i say.
there was so much smoke at nin it made me nauseous. I\'ve probably had about 6 cigarettes in my life. They just never did anything for me. Of course, neither did pot or beer, so who am I to say. I would think excercise is def a good way to go. If you really get into a sport and enjoy it, but you\'re constantly out of breath, then that will become an extra motivation to do whatever you can to improve your preformance, i.e. don\'t smoke.
One of the funniest things I remeber from a concert was lemonwheel when they opened the show gates in the afternoon. Everyone was lined up and it was like a track meet - whoever goes the fastest gets the closest to the stage. Everyone started off about the same speed but then they started dropping like flies. By about the 100 meter mark there was a drastic lead difference in the pact. People were holding their sides, giving up and walking, etc. It was pretty funny.
I was 2nd row for that afternoon set. Everyone around me was in good shape.
WISH US LUCK....
